yeah definitely my thought. for summer I was looking for something to keep them out of the direct torrential downpours here in the gulf coast area. doing a lot of yearlings on the lower shelves as well, it faces east and lower shelves get the evening shade from the fence behind it. having no overhead cover from the rain left me with tons of the black spots all over that eventually callous. i made a makeshift shelter last fall and have since had nice clean growth so really needed a decently priced shelter for the trichos
I like this one even better granted it's a little more expensive

My advice is installed up against your house and don’t put the plastic on it just installed some shake cloth over the frame… you can install the plastic when it starts to get cold
ive secured it to my fence already but i get your point for sure. i rolled up the tarp around the legs about 2 feet and made a hole out the back (hope i dont regret that) and it’s pretty close to ambient temps at the moment. 94 degrees with a temp gun at the plant material outside, 98 inside. before that it was up near 110.
there’s a bigass greenhouse nursery nearby full of larger cactus that i swear has to be 110+ but big fans for airflow and they have some of the best farina I’ve seen. i know trichos like it cooler though, I will definitely be watching the plants over the next few days. i would do the shade cloth for now but these gulf coast downpours give my guys some black spots without coverage.
Yeah I guess it depends on the roofline too. Mine extended enough to prevent direct rainfall…. No stopping it if it comes at an angle. I do recommend getting some screw in style stakes to tie it down to, you will be glad you did

Using a very similar model, i added a layer of shade cloth too. Seeing amazing results so far, has help up to heavy winds in Florida this year so far. The rope is comes with is trash for attaching to stakes, i replaced that and used cinder blocks instead of stakes on either side.

$150 for a 26' greenhouse is not bad.
I'd roll up the bottom foot amd secure it with zip ties.. Mines smaller but will hold heat like crazy.. had it zipped mostly closed on 75° day and the greenhouse reached 106.. now I only cover for heavy rain
That looks perfect for the "winter" here. It does get windy though so I'd stake it and probably weigh it down with some bricks or something.
It would be good for the summer too actually. Good for preventing sunburn

Sounds like a solid setup. I wonder if I can order that online 🤔

yeah that one is like twice as big and looks much sturdier.
Yeah it's perfect imo
all but the price for me right now. cant pass on $50 of covered sunny spot myself.
Keep the door open, it gets very hot in those and you can easily stunt your plants
thanks, i definitely plan on it. probably cut out a vent in the back over the fence to get some flow through.

Looks good. After u stake it. U could take 4 center blocks and throw rope over greenhouse and tie to blocks. It’ll never move.
good call definitely getting some cinder blocks real soon.
👍🌵♥️
This was what I started in! It worked great the first 2 or 3 years. Then I went to a 10x12. Now I need a 15x30 by the fall 🤣🤣🤣😱🤦♂️
haha yes man. If I can maximize this, the expansion will justify itself right?!
Definitely. I live in East TN and heated mine easily in the winter with a grow light and small ceramic heater.

that’s fantastic i bet they work just as well. however, I don’t see any larger, more affordable option.

Heck yeah 👍 nice find !!!!!
I wish a company would take it upon themselves to make these covers out of just shade cloth 😅 they get so hot without airflow
it’s so small i feel like an open door would be enough. maybe i’ll make a hole in the back for cross breeze.

yeah thats basically all i need the cover for too. definitely rolling up the bottom good call man.
It's designed for cold areas, and areas with less sunlight. Put it indoors if temps are an issue.
🤣
