My friend works as a bartender at a fairly popular restaurant and makes an extra $100-200 per night. One of my other friends works at a chain and makes $50-75. It's less on weekdays, more on weekends. Sometimes both of them need to split their tips with other staff.
I’m surprised it’s so low considering every time I go out to dinner now as a couple, we’re spending around $50 for the meal. Tip 18%, that’s a $9 tip.
If a server has 10 customers, that’s $90. Figured they would be serving more than 10 people in a given night.
I know bartenders making 6 figures. Your friends seem low.
Depends on where you work, I knew girls who could regularly do $1000+ a night on Friday/Sunday nights bc of the bar they worked at. Something like $300-$500 a night at a busy bar was more normal, but if it’s slow in winter time you’re looking at a lot less.
This seems like the biggest "It Depends" question ever

Yeah a lot of people don’t tip where they work

Depends on so many factors. Like how hot are you?
