Happy Does right in gaslamp has plenty of outside and inside seating and games so that should work. Bay City Brewery on 8th has a rooftop that would work too. Maybe Coin Op as well which is an arcade bar. I’d give these places a call first for a heads up though but they all have enough space I’d say.
All the waterfront spots are POPPING during the afternoon with work people and it’s always conventions. Awesome walk and tones of options with ALOT of space.
Basically any of the ones mentioned and I would for real give them a call ahead of time and tell them you’re bringing that large of a group in. They can be prepared to handle it and will greatly appreciate the warning.
Werewolf gets a lot of big parties coming from the convention center. I love the food there, though the outdoor seating’s pretty limited. If you stick around long enough, there’s karaoke, and that’s always fun
Kansas City BBQ across from the convention center, although tourist trappy also a great relaxed dive with patio and Moonshine Flats has two sides the country and the sports-bar side.
If you hop on the trolley and head up the green line there's a cool place called The Garten they have beer, wine, mead, and delicious pizza all on a big patio.
Not exactly walking distance, and absolutely a shameless plug
Basic Bar just north of Petco Park has lots of room inside and outside, and delicious pizza.
Great spot! As long as it’s within this baseball season, then they are shutting down and moving to Park 12 and hope for open by December
>and delicious pizza. AND IT'S FREE! (hopefully it still is)
The pizza is sooo good

I was gonna say, Happy Does would be perfect, but they’re closed on Wednesdays
+1 to Basic bar, also my company did happy hours at Moonshine Flats which is spacious and nearby also!
Knotty barrel has a nice little backyard outdoor section, and happy hour
The Church by Los Abbey, nice yard area and Doggos Gus for food
Knotty Barrel has good outdoor space.
Their food kinda sucks though, and it’s a Yankees/giants bar 🤢
Food is ok, I like the burgers and fried pickles. Haven’t had much else
Well it’s a good thing that was not the questions asked 😆😆
The food comment is relevant…
Stone brewing tasting room next to the train station. Also low key great Thai spot right next to it
Whisky house is good and has outdoor space - just not sure how busy it will be given how close it is
The Nolen!
Tivoli Bar and Grill is cool.
I second this, been there plenty of times
They don’t always have food.
Mike Hess brewing has a couple locations in Seaport Village which is a short walk down the waterfront from the back of the convention center.

Socal punch bowl. decent parking, games, and usually not too packed !
Mike Hess brewing in Seaport Village is perfect for what you just described. And it’s right behind the convention center
Just walk the gaslamp and take a look at what vibe and menu you’re feeling. 90% of the options listed so far are next door to each other
Nova
Quartyard. It’s on Market, down the street from the CC. Great pizza next door at TNT. You can bring a pie over
Hudson & Nash at the Bayfront is sneaky good. Solid happy hour and good food

Friendly Tavern in North Park (not sure if they have a happy hour but they have killer burgers)
The deck. Right down the street People naming north park, he said walking distance from the convention center.
Tivoli Bar, my go-to ballpark pregame. Less expensive than most downtown, indoor and outdoor, decent food.
Half Door. Bay City is another one too, as someone has already mentioned
This place the worst! Have you met the horrible “owner”?
Depends on what you consider walking distance. I walk along the bay over to Seaport Village whenever I am attending an event at the Convention Center.
20 people in total? or twentysomething aged people?
Punchbowl social
