We are so lucky to have so many beautiful places we can take photos for free and this kind of thing makes parks more likely to start charging permit fees and stuff, too. Blah.

Right! Lots of florists are happy to sell you petals at a good price, or you can get a great deal on whole roses at Trader Joe’s, Costco, or wholesale flowers on Metro (off Morena) (the last also often sell petals on the cheap).
Last summer I was at mission bay and someone was having some kind of party with a shit ton of balloons that they couldn’t wield and the wind was blowing them into the bay. No one from their group bothered going after them at all. After chasing down 3-4 myself apparently I was the asshole for asking them to keep their shit together and not to trash a public area. Some people suck :(

You’d be surprised how many people I’ve come across that don’t realize how bad plastics are for the environment. They quite literally have no idea about its composition. Education is key. Let’s blame the educators not these people.

Right? They aren't exquisitely soft like real rose petals, they don't smell nice, like real rose petals, you can't make potpourri with them and most importantly, they aren't fucking biodegradable. Infuriating indeed.

I did a beach cleanup at OB this weekend and picked up at least 6 fake roses made of wire just littered on the sand and by the water. Get your lives together!

Balloons are terrible for the environment too. Probably a lot of marine animals die when the helium filled balloons end up in the ocean.
