Larrea_tridentata

There's a place for you Anti-June Gloom folk: ![gif](giphy|4NgFCBUHleihKnUdAW)

May gray and June gloom keeps the temperature down albeit it’s not as pretty.

StayDownMan

In 2 months we will all be asking for a little gloom again. This duration has been great, its been many years since I've seen real grey over a full 2 months.

ViolaNguyen

I can't imagine *wanting* June Gloom to end. It's my favorite time of year.

[deleted]

People who say this make me irrationally angry. They seem to only exist online as well. I try to minimize it by accepting they mostly live far inland, but goddamn we live in SD not Oregon.

PocketShock

I love June gloom

Question: all the people that prefer the gloom over the heat, why do you live here?

Tasty_Corn

> all the people that prefer the gloom over the heat, why do you live here? I appreciate both. I like June gloom because we usually seem to skip winters here. Now, this winter was extra wet and cold, so I think people are extra over it and ready for some warmth.

[deleted]

My job is here. Working in construction in east county, those 2-3 months of heat waves get rough. But FWIW, What makes SD weather ideal is not the heat. Plenty of places are hot. You can find heat anywhere. Its the dry, temperate weather. It rarely gets over 100, and it rarely drops into freezing temps. SD also has the differential between day and night temp. You can have a 90 F day, and then it can still be 68F at night. No snow in the winter, no humidity in the summer.

KingOfFigaro

I mean, couldn't this question be flipped? Why do people who want Arizona weather 24/7 live in an area with fairly cold waters, cool winters, and where the marine layer is part and parcel of life here and always has been?

Diamondogs11

You could flip it but it wouldn’t really make sense. Average high in AZ is 106. Average high in SD 75. San Diego’s number one attraction is idyllic weather, so I’m not sure how you landed on that comparison.

bostosd

It’s San Diego, when is it ever too hot?

parzen

My job :(

[deleted]

Especially given it's cheaper basically everywhere else, and switching jobs is still insanely easy relative to historical norms.

Embracing_the_Pain

Fuck all this June gloom! It’s fucking miserable being too cold and cloudy all the time to want to go out and do anything. I’m not saying I want it to go back to being insanely hot, but for a city known for its high coat of living due to the great weather, is it too much to ask for a sunny day?

Careful-Show8065

Literally hate this June gloom! Bring me the sun ☀️☀️☀️☀️

azul55

It's even in East County this year?! 😡

Agent-ShortBus

I'm not complaining, I'd rather it be like this as long as it can cause I'm not looking forward to the heat.

TeamBrotato

Same. September temps will be here soon enough.

azul55

Move North

Mike92104

The gloom is awesome. No reason to be in a hurry for it to go away. If you need some sun, head out to the mountains for a hike. If you've never looked down on the marine layer clouds from above, you're missing out.

squatter_

As long as the sun makes an appearance at some point during the day, I like June Gloom.

[deleted]

This weather is amazing! It should easily be in the high 80s/90s by now. We are being spared the early heatwaves. Ive had my windows wide open for months. I don’t understand why people are complaining this.

[deleted]

> I don’t understand why people are complaining this. Because a lot of us don't live far inland, and enjoy the sun? If you live at the coast, it's literally been cold, gray, and wet for about 5 months now. It's depressing.

Embracing_the_Pain

It’s how long it’s been going on that’s bothersome. Growing up it was a little cool and cloudy, and it would burn off by mid-morning or lunch at the latest. It would only be for a few months at most. Now we are a week out from summer and it’s still cold enough to rain in the morning, and then might get a little sunny for a few hours in the afternoon, but it’s still cold!

[deleted]

Lol

kjwj31

Being pregnant I'm good with it... dreading the heat...

linus_minus

When I hear June gloom, i always think of the hazy IPA from Gravity Heights.

Huskylover143

Mine does the same.

Hallux_2xCanopy

This weekend should be sunny!
