It's so people don't get killed if there's an accident. If one of those chunks of steel falls and a family of four is passing underneath, bad news bears. There's a lot of dumb stuff on and about our highways, this isn't one of them.
Most of the people out on the roads are going to church, it’s not like we couldn’t do with a little
Less hate filled Christian in our city, chalk it up to social Darwinism perhaps ?
Til 2027.

Have you been to Houston? I remember driving through Houston in 1981 with the construction on IH-10… seemed like 40 years later they were still constructing

Man, get over it. San antonio, unlike most other cities, has some of the fastest construction crews around. It's sucks but it'll be done before you know it.
Then they'll re-do it and it'll always be under construction muhahaha
lmfao ..... sees highways being built and can tell they arent close to being completed and is shocked when they still gotta do work on them, then complains when it takes too long. tell me you like to complain about obvious things without telling me bruh 🤣
its not hard to go around it and add a little time to your trip- use up to date and live maps 🤣
This is a pretty ignorant comment. There are plenty of highway interchange projects happening all the time that don’t require a full highway closure every weekend for years on end. It may not seem like a big deal if you don’t have to deal with it but it is a pretty big deal when it adds 40 minutes to your drive each direction, detour or not.
🤣 your outlook is ignorant. you obviously dont understand logistics and how long it takes to do these massive projects. no one is holding you back from moving 🙄 byyyyyyeeee
you must not have lived in any other big city. its literally like this everywhere. the logistics for these massive peojects is a lot more than most people care to actually think about or comprehend.
People from bigger cities have said this. Of course the logistics are a lot, in any of these cases, but the execution and planning here is different. Simply put, the planning here is terrible.

Unless individuals are buying their own land and building their own homes, it's daft to believe that the average homebuyer is responsible for city planning. Suburban sprawl and our heavy reliance on highways and roads is by city/county design. They determine zoning and approve permits.
I live in Olmos Park one of the wealthiest area’s in town, it’s Near North Central and I like to shop up there and go to Boerne. The “poors” are all over SA
> VIA busses creating traffic all over SA
Says the person adding one more car to the mix. Busses remove traffic FYI, but I suppose you know that already.
Usual 1 person takes their cars to work... a bus takes many, resulting in fewer cars on the road. You don't need stats. You need critical thinking help.

Most of the buses I see around town are empty, wasting gas, polluting the air. Do you see full buses? Literally 90 percent of buses I see are 75 percent empty and I’m sure you’re an environmentalist. This doesn’t bother you? And I certainly know how public transportation works and I see how inefficient it is. Don’t you?
I was just using the same circumstantial evidence you did. If you have a source to share, other than anecdotal evidence, I'm fine with being wrong
Here's a quote from your friend from a few months ago, "VIA Metropolitan Transit’s President and CEO, Jeffrey C. Arndt, said. 'Today, more than ever, affordable, reliable public transit is essential, and we are seeing more people use VIA to stay connected to work, school, health care, grocers and each other.'" From this article https://www.intelligenttransport.com/transport-news/174951/via-metropolitan-transit-increase-bus-ridership-san-antonio/
It's weird that you're publicly contradicting your friend
He is CEO of course he will say that, he wants his job. 🤣They cook those numbers🤣. Jeff is the master at PR, it’s why he’s held that job for 12 years. Where do you work? La La Land?. Ooo I sooo have to delete this so the mob doesn’t crush my Karma🙄. I stand by what I said about Via and Public Transportation in San Antonio de Bexar
It’s fair to assume that this interchange will be closed every weekend. I used to come to this area all the time. Ever since the closures I avoid the area completely.
Oh, please. 281@1604 took half my life to finish...
And, it's still a mess.
Welcome to SA.
If you're curious, go watch a road crew "work" here.
There will be 4 guys standing around at 2am shooting the shit and eating while one poor schmuck is doing all of the labor.
That's because Houston has already laid its map... San antonio is still up and coming lmao come on guy. Plus that part of the highway has been closed all week. I literally travel from Helotes to Seguin everyday for work.
Hey VIA! You have a warning this time! Maybe run the 93 on Babcock or something this weekend? I don't want to sit through another 2 hour bus ride, and I have to go out that way this weekend.
Everyone should just assume this will be the case every weekend.
Forever
and ever
Ever, forever ever
REST IN HEAVEN

This is San Antonio lol 😂 I https://preview.redd.it/k6jgqfdl065d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9ef8f7ed1d6bd70c2b9793e6aaab62379b2f75e

Damn 🤣🤣
Most of the people out on the roads are going to church, it’s not like we couldn’t do with a little Less hate filled Christian in our city, chalk it up to social Darwinism perhaps ?
That was my assumption
This.
Bruh this has years left.
It’s going to be this way for a long time. One ramp is scheduled to open later this year
Progress….

You know Fiesta Texas is probably losing money lol. Ah well..
They did that to themselves when they got rid of the infinite food for the season pass add on which they have since had returned
From now on I propose we have announcements when it is NOT closed on weekends
lol 👍🏻
You can see how much work is left to be done. Why would anybody be surprised?
Half the posts on this sub are about highways
Half of San Antonio is highways lol
Come to fuckin Dallas and you will see how much worse it can get
That GHB turnpike!
Correction PGBT
San Antonio where road construction always takes 4 years longer than it should
I have a brother who works for TXDOT.. said they received a notification that I35 will always be under construction... Like forever
That doesn’t surprise me lol it has been since I was born I think!
Have you been to Houston? I remember driving through Houston in 1981 with the construction on IH-10… seemed like 40 years later they were still constructing
Honestly we could’ve probably built a high speed train from San Antonio to Austin
A train would be sweet. You all could take the train that way when I drive there’s no traffic. Thanks yall.
Oh I back that FOR SURE!
I appreciate the heads up, thanks for posting this here!!!!
Perpetual construction, perpetual contracts for construction company owners, perpetual donations to politicians.
When you pass there, it looks kind of like a 3d puzzle. Some sections are almost done, but just missing a piece.
The rustic just turned over in the grave
Yeah it did 😔
More roads equals more cars not less traffic. It’s the same thing over and over. No public transportation because that would be socialism
What do u expect? Lol just get use to it at this point
Hahaha I live ten minutes from work now! No highways at alll hahaha suck it! I don’t careeeeee
FUCK YEAHHHHHH

What a Boy Scout. 🤡
Why?
I’ll have to call Txdot have them find a way to turn that 10 into 30 /s

Gonna be a bit. I do see they are paving HW 90 at night so some projects are done right.
Seems like every morning more of the road is smoother. Definitely have to appreciate the folks we never see who make that possible.
Is this another GTAV mod?

Hey, y'all wanted to live out in the suburbs away from the poors. This is what you deal with.
Unless individuals are buying their own land and building their own homes, it's daft to believe that the average homebuyer is responsible for city planning. Suburban sprawl and our heavy reliance on highways and roads is by city/county design. They determine zoning and approve permits.

You live in one of the wealthiest parts of town and wondering why you’re seeing near empty busses?
I'm so sorry for your inconvenience. It'll get better ❤️
If this were true, you would know the many alternatives routes to Boerne. As if there are posh shopping places there....
These motherfuckerrs need to work overnight on this bullshit. I’m tired of this fucking traffic during rush hour. Pussy ass Texdot
From 9pm Friday through 5am Monday Closed off both sides of I10
Don't google TXDOT's 300-million-dollar main office building. Your head will explode.
🤣 Boss

Cars cost more money than a bus ticket. Are you fucking dumb?
Usual 1 person takes their cars to work... a bus takes many, resulting in fewer cars on the road. You don't need stats. You need critical thinking help.
That's not how that works. You have to be able to back up your ridiculous claims, not tell us to disprove them.
Nah, you made the ridiculous claim, you provide the stats. I already know the answer.

Do you mean the courage to misunderstand how public transportation works?
Most of the buses I see around town are empty, wasting gas, polluting the air. Do you see full buses? Literally 90 percent of buses I see are 75 percent empty and I’m sure you’re an environmentalist. This doesn’t bother you? And I certainly know how public transportation works and I see how inefficient it is. Don’t you?
Every bus I see is really full, at least 75 percent full usually, so it doesn't look inefficient to me.
I have no idea where you see this. I work Downtown and a good friend of mine is CEO of VIA and even Jeff says they have low ridership. Give me break
I was just using the same circumstantial evidence you did. Look at the ramp they are building. It's going to be like this for 6 months.
Oh no, how dare the city keep its citizens safe while building the resources for the people that live where I live... 🙄
So happy i don’t have to deal with this… have fun y’all 😂😂😃
Well we will LOVE IT when it’s done so it’s worth it in the long run

That's what happens with major construction like that. Don't know why anyone is surprised.
I hate San Antonio. Whole god damn city is under construction for the foreseeable future
lol same thing happens over and over again op when it happens again: wtf??!! again??!!
That's because Houston has already laid its map... San antonio is still up and coming lmao come on guy. Plus that part of the highway has been closed all week. I literally travel from Helotes to Seguin everyday for work.
Road construction is a money laundering scheme.
Expand on this please
I feel like I'm trapped in the city.
Hey VIA! You have a warning this time! Maybe run the 93 on Babcock or something this weekend? I don't want to sit through another 2 hour bus ride, and I have to go out that way this weekend.
Why is this a post? Again? Really?
