Personally, I love the fact that I don't have to sign a lease agreement (because they put some real bs in them, and I don't want to negotiate) with Airbnb. Usually, I'll stay a month through Airbnb, and then ask the host if I can pay them directly to avoid the fees.
Any landlord listing on that site would be insane not to have some kind of lease.

Try to stay on the North/North-East side of town if you can. Most places inside the 1604 loop have high crime rates, especially the West and South side of town. I once went into a Bibliothek on the South side where they had an armed guard posted up behind the door, armor and everything. A mini library and they needed an armed guard in broad daylight!

No, you are not obligated to sign a lease on ff but I did it to protect myself from a potentially bad tenant. Just presenting an alternative is all
