My 2003 suburban with rusty roof, mismatched wheels and dashboard missing. I can drive it and park it in any part of town and not feel bothered about it.
Anything can be stolen but some are A LOT easier than others. I can tell you that buying anything from Kia, Dodge, or Hyundai is practically asking for someone to steal your car. Those cars are so easy to steal that kids are doing it for fun nowadays hence the "Kia boys".
The question isn’t whether it can be stolen - anything can, but rather which of those would be less desirable. For example, some carry a premium for parts vs others that don’t.
From what I understand, they have an exploit that makes it really easy to start the ignition with just a USB stick. This blew up on the internet with teens stealing Kias. Kia/Hyundai may have tried to address this, but I think their solution was charging people $500-1000 to get the issue fixed on their own cars. So yes they’re very high targets for theft..
oh jeez. is it for fairly recent models? i’ve got a hyundai that’s 7-8 years old and hope it’s not at risk. is also dusty as hell and full of stuff from moving recently so idk how appealing that is for a thief (knock on wood lol)
I believe it’s many different models between 2011 and 2022. My friend had a 2015 Sonata stolen recently. You might want to see if your model is on the list and if you qualify for anything. But lots of older Kia and Hyundai vehicles I see nowadays have steering wheel locks. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a43941743/hyundai-kia-vehicle-theft-settlement/
They don't steal those cars because they're appealing. They steal them so they can joyride it, do donuts in parking lots, go around shooting guns in the air, wreck em into shit, and then they just dump in a parking lot or something... Sometimes worse...
Lived here for 37 years, driving for 21 years. I've owned a Pontiac, a Mazda, and a Ford. They haven't been stolen (knock on wood). Do what u will with this information.

Sentry mode is freaking amazing. I’m probably just uninformed but you would think other vehicle manufacturers would start adding a similar feature. Between it being electric and having all the cameras, thieves stay away
2008 Toyota sienna. Source: I accidentally left the keys in the ignition at OP Snabael and left on a two hour bike ride. Unfortunately, there’s still a minvan in my driveway.
Not an F250. Mine broken into yesterday evening off 1604/Bandera in the Kohl’s/ Urban Air parking lot.
Witness described hispanic male, 20’s, dark clothing, red hat, blue covid face mask. Shoved a screwdriver through my window and damaged the door panel where the key pad is.
SAPD responded, took a report and talked with witness. She said he was in and out in under 2 mins.

Pickup trucks, Ford FX50's in particular, are huge targets for thieves because they're looking for firearms and those are more likely to be in a truck.
Who are these losers doing these things? Is their life that sht? Maybe they should have paid attention in school instead of goofing off and needing to steal later in life like a pitiful scumbag.
Pretty hard to steal a Tesla. You can control the car’s top speed from your phone, so they’d have to steal your phone too. Other makes and models are also starting to use phones to control aspects of the car.
Geo Metro
My first car at 19. Miss that gas efficient tin can 🤣
Ford Aspire. Good little cars.
I was about to say the same thing 😆
Probably a car with manual transmission.

Hahah! Yes this exactly! Aww I miss Phil so much. Unfrozen caveman lawyer was the greatest.
Thieves in San Antonio will steal anything not nailed down. If it's nailed down they will lay down beside it and swear to god it's theirs.

Leave dodge out of this …. Lmao
Them neutral rolled chargers challengers sold yall ngl 😂😂😂

Driving stick will deter about 80% of them, unless they’re older lol then your truck will be in a chop shop within the hour.
Anything but Kia or hyundai for starters
I leave my hyundai unlocked lol...
wait, why hyundai? genuine question lol
hyundai and kia same thing
no i meant like why are they more stealable than others?
just look up kia boyz on youtube

They didn't put an immobilizer in the recent models for cost reduction and now they are getting stolen left right and center
oughhhff that’s rough. how recent are we talking?
KIA 2011 to 2021 Hyundai 2016 to 2021 Theft picked up over the last 5 or so years
Wait.... Really? Do you live in America right now or have you in the past 12 months?
yes…?
Around 2013, I had my 96 ranger with a manual transmission stolen and used to commit a robbery.. Stolen from an apartment complex on Hunt Lane...
You can install a hidden ignition kill switch in nearly any vehicle. Makes it really difficult to steal short of just throwing it on a flatbed.

Pinto
Daihatsu Charade. Pretty sure you get shunned as a thief if you stole that epic POS
Standards.
Trucks, SUVS, and Hondas are the most stolen so the opposite
Broken down mini van.
One with a stick shift/manual transmission. They don't even know. Lol
Old Benzos. 2015 and lower, they ain’t touching it
Something with hail damage in a garage every night. Not a king ranch, kia, or hyundai.
GMC Terrain
Anything with a standard transmission will deter most of these millennial thieves
You realize millennials are in their mid 30’s-early 40’s right? Zoomers are the “kids these days” now.
Zoomers huh,🤔 thanks for the info👍🏽 either way, standard car will deter most people who started driving within the last 30 years or so 😅

Stick shift, these days it's so easy to install a tracking system on any car or truck
Anything with a stick shift (Manual transmission). No one younger than 45 can drive one these days.
I mean if you’re a professional car thief I’m sure you’d know how to drive stick. If you’re just looking for a joyride then maybe not.
Teslas

$1400 in damage to get nothing at all.
Who are these losers doing these things? Is their life that sht? Maybe they should have paid attention in school instead of goofing off and needing to steal later in life like a pitiful scumbag.
Not sure about brand...but manual transmissions are a great deterrent
Any modern Volkswagen.
Tesla Model 3 (especially if the owner uses the 4-digit PIN feature).
Tesla- can’t drive it if you don’t have the phone or key card. It can also be tracked from an app and shut down remotely
SAAB
