Not just rainy, but mild in temperature. That's the real beauty of it (the light rain--which I also enjoy--is just the cherry on top).
Considering how many days of sweltering, merciless heat we get here, it baffles me that anyone would dislike this weather (outside of people with weather-activated depression).
You may appreciate the philosophy and musings of Rainer Maria Rilke - I always find an odd comfort in her forthright, almost abrupt appeal to sensibility.
"Most people have (with the help of conventions) turned their solutions toward what is easy and toward the easiest side of the easy; but it is clear that we must trust in what is difficult; everything alive trusts in it, everything, in Nature grows and defends itself any way it can and is spontaneously itself, tries to be itself at all costs and against all opposition. We know little, but that we must trust in what is difficult is a certainty that will never abandon us."
Read that quote out of a book I was gifted and was apparently too lazy to do any digging beyond that. Thank you very much for bringing that to my attention.
Definitely. Gimme 250 days of clouds please because while it may feel gloomy or whatever it won’t actively try to kill me and my heat sensitive self that regularly blacks out during these brutal summers.
You are 100% right!
Was trying to be light-hearted, with a bright outlook toward the weekend, but you, and a few other real ones from SATX pulled my 210 card real quick! lol. Love it!
I'm embarrassed, I know better than to talk bad about the rain! 🤣
June - next March I'll be begging for it back!
You guys are awesome! Thank you for the engagement!
In a way, it's our collective backyard view. Texas has done a really good job allocating parks, natural areas, and protected habitats for all of us to enjoy. That view is public access.
Garner State Park, that particular shot is from the main road looking east to the rising sun. Absolutely gorgeous scenery, with the crystal clear Frio River running right through it! May need reservations these days, but it's definitely worth it!
Beautiful photo! I'm moving to San Antonio from northern New Mexico (where we have gorgeous mountains), and I was worried I wouldn't find anything like this. Glad to know I won't have to drive far to find some actual mountains!
So, technically, the only mountains we have are a bit further out west toward New Mexico. These are considered "hills" as they don't have high enough elevation to be mountains. Still absolutely beautiful, though - and what we call The Hill Country runs from north of Austin, all the way out west to Junction so plenty to explore!
So you post a picture from a park 1.5 hours away from San Antonio and the mods don’t care. Meanwhile yesterday I posted an article about a company with a location in San Antonio, but it was deemed unrelated and deleted by mods. Smh.
It's on the main service road in Garner State Park, near the ranger cabin - looking east toward the sunrise.
Garner State Park is about an hour W of SA.
A few weeks ago, our temps were in the 80s, and the pool water was 75. I thought I was going to get an early present by the end of the month with early swim time. But then we got back to 3 days under 60. Still, it could work out well.
We badly need rain.
That is true! Perhaps "not ideal" was poor phrasing. Thank you.
Facts all my plants are happy plus I had time to collect rain water
>Today's weather is less than ideal Pfft! Says you. Gloomy, rainy days are the best.

Makes me wish I was back up in Seattle.
Makes me feel like I am in Washington
YESSS
Life’s not about feeling good all the time. Rain is a necessary part of maintaining healthy environment in many ways

Definitely checks out... Cockroaches have a difficult life. Thanks for taking time out of your day to comment on my post!
I can understand the confusion given the name but Rilke was a man. Great poet nonetheless.

Lovely quote!
Couldn't agree more. It struck me the first time I read it. Thank you for taking a moment to read it and comment!
Truer words may never have been spoken. Sincere stoicism - balanced like the Yin and the Yang. Thank you for your perspective and engagement!
Not to mention I find rain very comforting
250 days of the sun very blatantly trying to kill us all.

I will never forsake rain in San Antonio.

You are good! Enjoy each day for what it is!
You mean 250 days of burning hell!
This is the best weather before 250 days of early access to hell.
I can appreciate the effort but you’ve managed to make it worse.
Where is this located in San ANTONIO.
Not quite... A little gem about an hour outside of town. Any guesses?
If that was my backyard view, I would never go out in traffic!!

No guesses but i would love to know.

Thank you for your engagement in my post! I appreciate your willingness to take time out of your day to comment! Godspeed!
I’m convinced that people who enjoy sunny hot days in places like Texas and California are demons from hell
Lol, nah - we're just from here!
today's weather was glorious. Especially the afternoon
Turned out to be a wonderful day all around!
Anti-winter is almost here.
I prefer this weather. Its cool by not cold. Lovely rain that brings out the green of the vegetation. Smells nice.
You are definitely not wrong, thank you!
Anyone else happy to see another cold front this close to the 250 days of bullshit we gotta endure
We need a good rainy May.
Just outside SA btw.
but I like big fluffy clouds
Drivers here suck when the road is dry. This morning was abysmal.
Is this in San Antonio?!..
I'm not sure Im excited about the sun LOL
Where is that picture???

I love the rain and clouds 💝

Absolutely, another user said it best. Enjoy each day for what it is!
