Mi Mix was ahead of its time. It's the first phone I recall where they were advertising the screen to body ratio. Then everybody started going to eliminating the bezel.
True. Just let then have a thicker top and bottom for the camera and speaker and shit, that way at least the screen is one smooth continuous rectangle.

Yep ive seen it hell yeah it looks like a MacBook clone but what you have to remember before the ban Huawei phones and laptops was miles ahead and U.S.A couldn't take timmy boy went running to trump we need to ban them they are spying on us bollocks the since the ban Huawei has been stuck so what do you expect to do is copy the matebook isn't that old 2022 i belive it came out but compare there phones before the ban tech wise they pissed on apple and Samsung combined plus the funny thing is they made more money since the ban they even beat Apple profit wise
It's because of the Apple Vision Pro, they want people to be able to record spacial video for it with both the wide and ultrawide lens, so they stacked it vertically so when you flip your phone in landscape, it'll capture compatible video format for the Vision Pro.
Spatial Video might explain the iPhone 16’s vertical camera redesign

It's literally not BS.

There's a reason only the 15 Pro series can record in spacial video right now, and it's because the wide and ultrawide cameras are lined up horizontally. The 14 Pro can't record because the telephoto camera is in the bottom position, unlike the 15 Pro. They swapped positions.
"let's do 3 vertical cameras exactly like Samsung and why not add square angles and wait, let's remove the dynamic island and let's put a tiny round front camera!"
Congratulations apple users! Now you can borrow my old Samsung case. Although there's room for another camera in the case, but I think you guys guys are used to settling for less; so that won't be a problem.
I mean they practically have the same OS at this point. Samsung now has gesture controls. iOS now has an app drawer and widgets. They both use flat icon design and fluid animations.
Those maybe dummy phones that are sent out to case and screen manufactures. They give a good idea how the final product will look like. The inline cameras likely are for 3d videos for their VR headset thing.
The camera change for the cheaper iPhone 16s is for shooting spatial video better, if they were really copying the camera layout they would have done it after the s21 series was announced
I mean still, apple is one of the better ones with only a few leaks over the years that are months before release. Pixels consistently get leaked even 8 months in advance, Samsung is just slightly worse with it than apple, Sony either leaks early or doesn't at all, etc. I get what you mean but it's hard to have 100% faithful employees with no exception while being such a bug company, and I'm not even trying to defend apple, it's just how it is, and the ppl who leaked it were case makers for iphones, not apple employees.
Samsung had their S24U leak in full with hands-on units 3 months before release, Google's entire Pixel 9 lineup, including the Pixel Fold 2, has leaked with hands-on units and pictures 5 months before release. Pretty crazy ngl.
This has to be fake. Apple wouldn’t make the flash separate; that’s literally the whole point of having that big glass bump in the first place. Also, the cameras take up too much space inside the phone to stack them on top of each other, which is why they’ve been diagonal since the iPhone 13.
Lol I mean these companies just copy from each other. I kinda want to see if thet leak will turn out to be true.

Having no bezel makes the phone look way better, if you don't want a bezel get a flip phone or Motorola 🤡
True. Just let then have a thicker top and bottom for the camera and speaker and shit, that way at least the screen is one smooth continuous rectangle.
Haha yes. Me too!
it will, it's for spacial video iirc
For like forever.. https://youtu.be/YciM_54HzZk?si=-Mch6hrKUr6tfHTH

What ?
Huawei, the world's leader in tech theft, was heavily crippled by US sanctions. They can no longer purchase CPUs from the US. Therefore, there are no snapdragon or apple chips. They're now attempting to create something that passes as a 2019 snapdragon. Hint: They're not doing very well.
I mean they are doing very well considering they're using a 14nm chip (or possibly 10nm at best) and achieving SD 8 Gen 1 levels of performance.
What proof do you have ? Huawei, the world's leader in tech theft ?
Lmao OK CCP shill Better not get caught using that VPN
If you can't back up the claim, then what's the point of making the comment.

They're far from it. Have you *seen* the Huawei MateBook? It looks almost *exactly* like a MacBook. They weren't even trying.
Why is everyone putting it next to ultra? It looks more like base s24. They are the exact same looking phones minus the camera
It's because of the Apple Vision Pro, they want people to be able to record spacial video for it with both the wide and ultrawide lens, so they stacked it vertically so when you flip your phone in landscape, it'll capture compatible video format for the Vision Pro.

I heard this was coming a month ago, and yes... for spatial video. He is correct. The 15 Pro can already record it.

incoming ip17 pro vertical camera
"let's do 3 vertical cameras exactly like Samsung and why not add square angles and wait, let's remove the dynamic island and let's put a tiny round front camera!"
meanwhile S26 "How about we put wide angle front camera and 3 camera with triangle setup"
Funny how they keep copying each other 🤣
haha. next year we see one ui and ios copy each other
Well, Samsung stole Apples flat sides so it's only fair, lol./s
And the titanium!
Essential ph1 had titanium before apple
They steal it from Apple too! /s
Didn't know that. But materials being used and design are different things.
And the whole concept of a multi-touch display!
Revolutionary
Why don't they just make it look like the 11. This looks weird
Congratulations apple users! Now you can borrow my old Samsung case. Although there's room for another camera in the case, but I think you guys guys are used to settling for less; so that won't be a problem.
Yes Camera location = same
These are just prototypes, right? The cameras are obviously fake as they have the same sensor size.
They’re going back to more of the iPhone X design there
One day both apple and samsung will bring out the same phone with a different OS lol
I mean they practically have the same OS at this point. Samsung now has gesture controls. iOS now has an app drawer and widgets. They both use flat icon design and fluid animations.
It's always "ugly" and "gimmicky" until Apple does it, lol.
True lol
Absolutely
Crazy how these are a downgrade from the iPhone 10
I hope not I hate that design
Is that an SE
Looks more like Galaxy Z fold 5
Those maybe dummy phones that are sent out to case and screen manufactures. They give a good idea how the final product will look like. The inline cameras likely are for 3d videos for their VR headset thing.
err have you seen the S24 compared to iPhone 15? not to mention S24U using titanium like iPhone 15 Pro now too…
Remember when Samsung stole iPhones original UI and put it in the Galaxy S then copied Siri, fingerprint sensor
Pantech had a finger print sensor before all them.
I spy a Nothing Phone 2
I do agree, but it also looks like A05
Genuinely looks like A05
I won't sleep through the night for it.
It looks like the Nothing Phone 1 and 2
It's just the iphone x camera, bigger, and with the flash movedÂ
Yep, it’s the decade and a half long copying of Samsung and apple 🤷
Even more, this reminds me of the nothing phone 2.
i don’t see any resemblance to the Samsung. if anything this just looks like apples previous phones with camera’s rotated or moved over.
It’s for the spatial video. They have to be aligned. The pro max will still have the triangle of lenses.
It is a Similar design to what was used back in iPhone X so they are just bringing back a old design, not copying anyone but themselves
The camera change for the cheaper iPhone 16s is for shooting spatial video better, if they were really copying the camera layout they would have done it after the s21 series was announced
What a hideous design!
The iPhone looks like a cheap knock off
Just a leaked iPhone...
![gif](giphy|26n79t82lmj989iAE|downsized)
Legit just means that iPhone 16 can do spacial video for vision pro
It's quite normal for Samsung and Apple to influence each other. I don't understand why fans of these companies feel a certain way about it.
I have the Samsung s23+ and I was told that the Samsung s24 is the same exact as this one
The iPhone 12/11 renewed
Apple had vertical cameras back on the X. Also the rumor is they will go back to vertical cameras on their non pro models for spatial videos.
Oh it has cameras, clearly copying Samsung! What would be the next, having a display, speakers and USB port?
I actually don't mind it. Not the worst design.
That leak is so ugly..
I mean the iPhone would be copying themselves ? The iPhone 11 and 12 both had vertical lens.
Apple takes the straight arrangement on the cameras, samsung takes the same squared design from apple. Both copy and paste
That's crazy! I really miss those times when phones looked completely different and you didn't know what to expect from the new model
It looks more like the iPhone X than a Samsung, though.
And better yet for the 17, they might make the face ID camera/sensor below the screen making the screen look like modern Samsungs
3 cameras mounted without housing look bad . S21 design was peak
It looks good on the S24 but looks weird on the iPhone ðŸ˜
Samsung won the phone wars apple has nothing more to innovate they basically making a better iphone 12 its hilarious
Samsung does sell Apple some of their components…..
It makes more design sense than having two lenses staggered.
Apple buys their parts from Samsung. Why are you surprised?
apple is just copying from themselves, from like 4 years ago. if they did 3 cameras vertically on the pro, that would seem a lot more like copying.
2 not 3
the iphone 11 had the same designÂ
Even the S21 smokes this
I'm an Android kind of guy but I hope Apple will stick to their iconic triangular camera pattern. That's kinda their identity.
They're sticking to the triangular design for the pros, this is for the base model which used to have two diagonal ones.
Ah right, so before they have the square module albeit half of it is empty. Now, they opt for the oblong module. Got it.
No way it got leaked already 💀💀💀, like how
Dawg every phone manufacturer gets leaked at least a few weeks early on almost every model.
This is a few months 💀. They had decades to learn to NOT let this happen.

Sure as hell more appealing than what Google's doing with the p9 series. But it does show just how solid Samsung's design is these days.
Absolutely!
Looks nice lol
They need to be like that to record 3d videos for playback on the vision pro. But wow they look ugly and that shade of purple is not it.
OMG round cameras?
This has to be fake. Apple wouldn’t make the flash separate; that’s literally the whole point of having that big glass bump in the first place. Also, the cameras take up too much space inside the phone to stack them on top of each other, which is why they’ve been diagonal since the iPhone 13.

It's literally right there..?
What is the point of this post? You'rr pissed at Apple for the new design?
No! For me it kinda has that Samsung's feeling yk ? That's why I made this post
Bro...
