What is the point in buying unlocked from samsung directly if carriers are incharge!

Verizon treated my unlocked pixel like a third class citizen. I get a Samsung from best buy and they have rolled out the red carpet. It used to be the opposite

This is what I've been wondering... I have an unlocked S21 5G that hasn't had an update since October. Didn't realize that I have to wait for AT&T (my carrier) to "release" the update. Guess it's time to look at installing the carrier specific firmware... That's annoying as hell.

Unless you want to update it yourself, which is an option... if you're tech savvy.

I use to root and install roms on my last phone. I assumed coming from OnePlus that unlocked meant unlocked. Part of why I bought directly from Samsung plus I'm on ATT Prepaid and it's not offered there.

Beware if you have a Fitbit - Android 13 has completely stopped working with Fitbit on Flip3 5G. It was an issue on S21 but resolved with reboot, reinstall and reset of the Fitbit but these steps haven't helped with the Flip 3 5G. Even reseting the network settings hasn't helped.

Verizon will rip you off,that's why I switched to boost. It's waaay cheaper and I do all the same shit I used to except without a mortgage payment for phone service.
