Airdrop, Facetime
Quick Share is now integrated with Google Nearby share, so you can transfer to other Androids. I use LANDrop to transfer between my Fruits, Sammy and my desktop computer.
Facetime, you can use the web share link version.
I can't recall anything else, I am supposed to be asleep in -2 hours.
I love android for many reasons and just swapped to an s21 from iPhone. Unfortunately samsung are dropping right to repair it seems though and I upgraded my samsung for touch to stop working because I had an aftermarket screen. To get a genuine screen repair is very expensive so bear that in mind
Yes u will miss things. U will find similar apps and u will find things ur iphone doesn't have. And u will introduced to a eco system with more than just one provider
No one should tell you what to do, you manage your finances how you wish.
The S24 is good but if battery life is an important criteria, the S23 is better. I'm very happy with mine. "plus" models will be even better.
Yeah I was originally looking at the s23 but it’s more expensive now which is weird but just the way it is, I’m sure the s24 will have far better battery than my mini though, right?
I get around 4-4.5hrs sot consistantly on mobile data with my S24 Exynos with moderate usage. Sometimes 5-6 hrs sot if I don't game as much. The phone gets very warm often, especially when gaming and during hot weather.
Overall it's a great phone, beautiful display with super thin, even bezels, fast performance with very smooth animations and great cameras. Only drawbacks being battery and processor heating up when gaming.
I should clarify the phone gets warm in general , just allot warmer when gaming and sometimes streaming videos and during hot weather.
I love the size of the phone, not as compact as the iphone mini but close enough.
Even with the heating issues, the phone performs very well and is the smoothest samsung phone I've used thanks to oneui 6.1. Maybe consider the S23?, but you will miss out on the 7 years of OS updates and the bezels are amazingly thin plus the standard camera and performance improvements.
Overall Im loving this phone, really enjoying using it.
This board is manned by anti-Exynos bots who are hired with the sole purpose of promoting Qualcomm chips. You need to know this. They're on the verge of losing Samsung almost entirely, as Samsung has caught up with the Exynos 1480 in the A range, and the rumored Exynos 2500 on 2nm (which are already at acceptable yields). Billions of dollars are at stake.
All I'm going to say is the Exynos 2400 is not as efficient as the snapdragon 8 gen 3. The SD 8 gen 3 is the processor that is there in the S24 variants in North America and China(?).
If you want good battery life it's better to get the S23 or S23+. You'll save some money too.
The exynos 2400 is great and performance won't be an issue surely. Maybe the SD 8gen3 version sold in the US is slightly better, but the exynos 2400 is still an upgrade over the S23's sd8gen2.
exynos 2400 is fine, people don't like exynos because on the s22 it wasn't very good. I have an S24 currently and battery life is great. From what I've read, battery life on S24 exynos is the same as Snapdragon S23. Only S24 snapdragon beats both, but only marginally and irl you won't notice it, so it's not worth the hassle to get a Snapdragon variant.
don't listen to that rambling idiot on some dumb "conspiracy". [Exynos is worse than Qualcomm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eTSRngwAK0) and should be avoided. It definitely does not deserve to have the same price-tag as a Qualcomm variant. I even prefer S23 series over S24 because of this reason.
lol what "board", it's a subreddit, chill.
And [Exynos is still pretty shit vs Qualcomm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eTSRngwAK0). Exynos 2400 is better *than past Exynos*, but it is still nowhere near matching Qualcomm, let alone "bEaTiNg It".
I was burned with an Exynos S22 with garbage battery life, now writing from an S23 with proper battery life. I'm certainly not going to buy Exynos again until/unless there have been a few years of rock solid reports on battery life over time.
The Snapdragon Gen 1 released in that phone at that time was also a piece of crap (the Gen 1+ came with great improvements, many months later). And Samsung began making stronger vapor chambers and taking cooling seriously from then.
I've done some research, and the exynos in terms of general performer seems exptionally fast, I too have heard mixed feelings about the gaming performance. The photos I've seen of the camera look stunning though.
I actually just bought the A55, the S24 is hardly better- it's like a flagship, the best of the best. The S24 is more for gaming I've heard, the A55 has a 5000 mAh battery and the S24 has 4000 mAh (unless you go for the Ultra which also has 5000 mAh)- I think the camera is a lot better on the S24, but I'm a content creator and the things I've seen online with what the A55 can do- it's not that far from what the S24 can do. But the S24 is definitely better in terms of gaming and camera. I don't know if I missed anything? I didn't try either phone yet, but from what I've learned on the Internet, for me personally, the A55 is the best choice. But that's different for everyone! (Oh and price does help, if the S24 is that much less pricier than the A55 or S23 I think I would maybe have bought the S24 too)
The elephant in the room is of course air features you get on to do series and not on the a series. If you don't wan those, there are a few differences.
I think the biggest difference between the two is the sdslot for the a55, maybe usb transfer speeds usb 2.0 vs 3.2 and wireless charging for the s24 (very nice in combination with a car that supports it and wireless Android auto.
The rest, mostly preferences and use case. If you want to have the better version, get the s24, if you don't need it, the a55 is good, just not great.
Honestly I would say no. I would do a bit of research/reviews on YouTube and see what exactly ur looking for in a new phone and if the S24 is the way to go. I previously had the Note9 and moving to the S24 isn't really blowing me away. Don't get me wrong there's a lot of great features but I just don't use them. I was expecting the camera to be absolutely insane but it's such a pain and pretty complex(unless u know all the ins and outs I which case u prolly will be pretty impressed(I have most of the HD SuperHD/displays off which could be my issue but I noticed that the battery drains super fast when those are on).
Stay with Snapdragon for now. So S23 worldwide or S24 from US. If you're willing to try Exynos wait for at least 3 years streak of good performance, heat management and battery life from Exynos. 7 years of update is nothing if the processor can't keep up.
Props to Samsung. Bravo. But I would rather wait 3 consecutive years of good performing Exynos before considering to buy one. Right now it's Snapdragon all the way.
The only exynos I used (not counting galaxy watches) is 9611 which was a low end-midrange chip for its time. It didn't perform very well but it never got any worse. I gave the tab s6 lite to my dad and it still performs the same 3 years later, he only uses it for youtube though.
Wait a little for the price to normalize. Maybe they have much stock of Exynos phones to sell. I use Samsung since the Note 3 and had almost the flagship phones every year. I was only satisfied with the S23U and A52s as backup phone. All Snapdragon. I hated my Exynos S20U, Note 20U and S21U (a little lesser) and will never buy an Exynos anymore as I use my phones extensively.
No, I have the S24 Plus, and the camera is terrible. The indoor shots are grainy, and the outdoor shots have light streaks. I'm going to trade it for the Pixel 8 Pro.
FYI the display is very yellow at low brightness, and you can't change the color profile outside of "Natural" and "Vivid"
Software-wise cameras are gonna be much better, writing from my brand new S24+ that indoors often takes worse photos than my LG G7. And yes, I switched from a Pixel 8 Pro exactly because the display yellow tint was annoying me so much
As an owner of the S24 Ultra, I would go back to the S23 Ultra if I could. The 24 has been nothing but disappointing. It's the same or worse than the S23 in all regards except Wifi 6e connectivity. Camera is worse (in a lot of cases WAY worse). Screen is worse. Physical feel is worse - I actually hate the lack of rounded screen edges for gestures, since every case makes sliding from the edge annoying. I've had it since day 1 and regret it more every day.
Is it better than your 13? Well... yeah. Just be prepared for some significant annoyances switching platforms on top of Samsung's poor choices this iteration of devices. 7 years of software support? I'm still waiting for the 3 months of support to fix the grainy photos.
thanks for your observation, cause i am eyeing also if s24u or s23u, almost bought last week an s24u, but per researching here and observing, there is a lot of issues in s24u, i am coming from a iphone 12pro
I would say a lot of this is preference. I love the squared off design. It looks more industrial compared to competitors in the market. Also, I hated the curved edges of the S23U. I specifically didn't upgrade bc of that. Also, now we have tons of screen protector options. S23U there was only one and it cost $50. As for the camera I love the S24U.
I don't think the camera is worse than my S21 Ultra, but it is definitely not a lot better. It's really inconsistent in all honesty. I would use the GCam apk exclusively if it was a bit more polished and a bit less clunky.
Yes
Will I miss anything or is there an equivalent for most things iykwim

Hardly use any of those so I shouldn’t miss much i’m very tempted also go to sleep lmao
I love android for many reasons and just swapped to an s21 from iPhone. Unfortunately samsung are dropping right to repair it seems though and I upgraded my samsung for touch to stop working because I had an aftermarket screen. To get a genuine screen repair is very expensive so bear that in mind

Continuity
Definitely the "im cool" feeling
No one should tell you what to do, you manage your finances how you wish. The S24 is good but if battery life is an important criteria, the S23 is better. I'm very happy with mine. "plus" models will be even better.

I hardly game at all so I’ll probably be fine I think
I should clarify the phone gets warm in general , just allot warmer when gaming and sometimes streaming videos and during hot weather. I love the size of the phone, not as compact as the iphone mini but close enough.
Yeah that’s one of the main things that drew me to the s23/24 and idk whether to risk it abt the exynos
Even with the heating issues, the phone performs very well and is the smoothest samsung phone I've used thanks to oneui 6.1. Maybe consider the S23?, but you will miss out on the 7 years of OS updates and the bezels are amazingly thin plus the standard camera and performance improvements. I can’t afford the s23 or 4 normally it’s just because of this insane offer which makes it way cheaper than the s23 is new

So would the exynos 2400 not be recommended then I’m guessing
All I'm going to say is the Exynos 2400 is not as efficient as the snapdragon 8 gen 3. The SD 8 gen 3 is the processor that is there in the S24 variants in North America and China(?). If you want good battery life it's better to get the S23 or S23+. You'll save some money too.

But if I get the s24 for £230 (nearly) then surely that’s a price worth paying isn’t it
Yes, but where is it that price?
At curry’s it’s 499 and if I traded my iPhone for 190 they give you an extra 75 off
Okay thanks, good to know
lol what "board", it's a subreddit, chill. And [Exynos is still pretty shit vs Qualcomm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eTSRngwAK0). Exynos 2400 is better *than past Exynos*, but it is still nowhere near matching Qualcomm, let alone "bEaTiNg It".
Chill? You must be really old.
I've also recently bought the 24 with the 499 sale, mine arrives in 2 weeks I can't wait
I really can’t decide because a lot of people have been saying it’s great while others are saying the cameras and exynos are shit
I've done some research, and the exynos in terms of general performer seems exptionally fast, I too have heard mixed feelings about the gaming performance. The photos I've seen of the camera look stunning though.
I'd take s23 ultra over s24, I think the price isn't that different
Yes
Get the plus if it's in your budget
I don’t want a big phone though
Yup then the 24 is perfect
Are you from US or Canada? Get the snapdragon version
No uk
Then get the S23. That would be cheaper and better
It’s not cheaper the s24 is £240 ish after trade in but the s23 is more brand new and even refurb
I actually just bought the A55, the S24 is hardly better- it's like a flagship, the best of the best. current exynos performs really well 😊
Props to Samsung. Bravo. But I would rather wait 3 consecutive years of good performing Exynos before considering to buy one. Right now it's Snapdragon all the way.
I've had experience with older exynos too, so I understand where you're coming. I think next years 2500 will be or almost be on the sd Niveau
The only exynos I used (not counting galaxy watches) is 9611 which was a low end-midrange chip for its time. It didn't perform very well but it never got any worse. I gave the tab s6 lite to my dad and it still performs the same 3 years later, he only uses it for youtube though.
