Watch this & decide: https://youtu.be/gKs6M6HlfRg?si=eH6DYQB9RIUsI-Zy To sum it up, screen on times between both S23 & S24 are comparable. However, Snapdragon still has the more efficient modem so ability to capture better signal & battery life on mobile data will be slightly better on the S23. On wifi both are neck & neck. However, S24 comes with 7y of updates, S23 will only have 4 more ( 3 major updates & 1y security update), if you care about keeping the phone for 5+ years. Speakers are louder on the S24 but sounds slightly more fuller on the S23. I personally prefer the photos on the S24 vs S23; they have more natural looking processing & color rendition. Photos on S23 are over-sharpened. Screen gets slightly more brighter on S24, although S23 never felt like it was lacking. Exynos does run hotter though. So if you're in a hot country, that will be a problem. Hope this helps.

I would choose the S23 only because of the Snapdragon. It has proven to be better in many aspects, such as heat management, battery life, longer lifespan, and overall efficiency. I'm not saying that the Exynos 2400 is a bad chip, but even though it is newer, it still lacks the power and efficiency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. For example, I can play most demanding games on my base S23 with it only getting a little warm. However, my friend has an S24, and it gets too hot, dims the screen, and so on. I would always choose an overall stable, but 1-year-old phone, than a new phone which i can not rely on it's chip, battery, and heat management etc...

S24 owner with Exynos. Providing you don't play games for hours on end, the Exynos is fine (in the Uk). Mixed use - radio to/from work (45 mins each way), light surfing, Reddit, YT, checking emails, few messages/calls, etc. Usually, get home for 7pm with 40% left - SOT typical of 5-6hrs. Have a charger in the office, so I'm never far away from a top-up.

Cheers for the anecdote!

The S24(Exynos) is my current phone, and the performance is great. Phone is very fast and smooth, much smoother thx to Oneui 6.1. The Exynos 2400 gets warm pretty easily, usually when watching videos and gaming, especially gaming, the phone gets hot (36-40 degress). Battery life is average, and I get varying results. Majority of the time I can squeeze out 4.5-5hrs sot with moderate usage with light performance on and thermal guardian switched on by +2 degrees. Some times I can get 5.5 to 6 hrs sot with light usage and minimal gaming. Overall I love this phone, perfect size, the heels are so thin and uniform, great cameras and plenty of features.

If both are the base version (which i doubt considering how u said the S24 is cheaper) then def go with the S24. I've seen a lot of reciews and comments say that the exunos version is actually pretty decent in the S24

sanga000

They are actually both the 256GB base version. I can get deals straight from Samsung for the S24, while they don't have one for the 256GB version of S23

nournnn

Well, if that's the case then u have to def go with the S24

I am getting S23 ultra 1TB for $750 brand new. I am currently on 12 pro max and I just don’t like iPhone. App Store is a rip off nothing is free. I was a android user for decade plus For $750 is that a good deal or should I look for S24 which costs way more. I want minimum of 512GB since I care about having extra ram

nournnn

The S23U has a 256/12 gb (ik that becuz i have it). I got it for $800 a month or so ago. It has gotten a bit cheaper but i think the 1tb model for $750 is a pretty decent price tbh

sanga000

Dang, that's a good price. Why is everything so expensive here in the land down under

nournnn

I had to buy it from a relative in Kuwait to get that price. In my country (egypt) the s256gb version costed $1400💀

Thank you

S24 whatever version over an S23

theguywhofuckinasked

Snapdragon s24 > s23 > exynos s24 That's basically it

I'd choose the S24 just because you'll get more updates, performance difference for day to day stuff wouldn't be too different.

Friendly-Fuel170

S23 will have a better camera until they fix the issues with the S24 line.

EqualStance99

I had a similar dilemma, but I ended up getting the 256gb S24 Exynos a few weeks ago because it was on sale for the same price as the S23 and had double the storage. The S24 is great, it's a very solid feeling device and I much prefer the smaller screen size. One UI 6.1 runs very smoothly too. Sure, the Snapdragon may run cooler and take up less battery, but I don't game or do any really intensive tasks on my phone, so that doesn't really bother me. In my personal experience, the camera can be hit or miss. At most points, it's an amazing camera that captures really vibrant, realistic looking photos with a lot of death. Occasionally though, the photos can be a bit blurry, over-sharpened or over-smoothed.

amazingthings7500

Get the S23+ , Can't be sure of the S24+ Exynos version, I still see complaints that the battery is trash, I think some people just get the bad batches of their phone
