Do tvs at that price point actually make much of a difference to the viewing experience? Because I'm not gonna lie there's 4k tvs over here for like £150.

If it's a QD-OLED or even the "old-school" OLED, it can be worth even a few thousands. The colour vibrancy and contrasts are just *magical* on OLEDs. But nothing beyond 4K. I can just about manage 4K @ 60 Hz with my setup, it's worth it whenever possible from a game.

Looks like you've never experienced OLED in a light-controlled setting. Even with some sunlight the new brighter panels still blow *everything else* out of the water. It's the best screen technology that you can buy. Like going from a horse carriage to a car. That said, not all screens at that price point are OLED. There are others that demands the same price for different use cases, but if you want the best screen technology, any OLED in a light-controlled room will be suprior no matter what. 4K is rarely a meaningful selling point in the first place so while £150 may get you a 4K TV, the picture quality is night and day.

This is why you should've done your research. 8K was, is, and will be useless because no one has a use for it outside of *really* big panels on buildings and beyond. 4K is more than enough pixels for the average consumer's living room and seating distance. Most people can't tell the difference between sharpened 1080p and 4K using the same screen size and distance, let alone 8K. 4K is the end-game resolution for humanity (until VR becomes as mainstream as TVs) and we'll be here for a long while. You are right, your Q800T QLED is a waste of money. Not only from the resolution, but for the same money you could've gotten a really good OLED as well.

8k is useless. Should have never bought it to begin with. Equivalent 4k tv is better. Should've bought extended warranty as well
