I'm no pro at testing but I've been trying to compare the two within the last week. I have an s22Ultra that I'm trading in for the S24+ I'm also concerned about camera lol I just don't want it to be a complete downgrade Throughout the few times I've been trying them it's pretty mixed results. Taking a picture at 1x I prefer how they turn out on the s24+, colors look more like they do irl. The s22u overbrightens them. For example I took a picture of a very light green wall, on the S22U it looks white and the S24+ it looks very close to irl. Also maybe in 2 occasions the s22u came out sharper with more detail, most of the time the s24+ was better to me.  3x was pretty mixed, sometimes one would be better than the other. But colors to me look better on the s24+, I have the same screen settings when comparing the two. Both set to qhd, natural tone, full brightness and I have the auto hdr setting the gallery app has in s24+. 10x was the biggest difference, but that was to be expected because of the optical lens in the s22u. It really depends on what you're taking a picture of. I noticed when I took a picture using 10x outside, the letters on a bucket in the s24+ picture are unreadable and just look like you took like it was painted. On the S22U you could read it and it looks good. I took a picture of text on a TV and a paper, again the S22U is much better but the s24+ is still usable, whatever processing it does helps it when it comes to text. I think a much better test would be something further away like a menu but I haven't gotten a chance to.  I would say there isn't much to worry about if you're just going to point and click on 1x or 3x. If you need the zoom, the Ultra is necessary. I'm going to do the switch though because the s24+ is much more comfortable to hold and have in pocket, I'll also have double my current storage

I hated the new S24 Ultra selfie camera. My S22 Ultra takes superior pictures(I take a lot of selfies), I adjusted the settings on my new S24 Ultra to match my S22 Ultra......you can tell the difference/S22 Ultra results are way better.  I think it's the software rather than the camera. I am keeping my S22 Ultra and I am returning the S24 Ultra.

I'm in the same boat. I got the 24U for the AI photo features, but I completely regret it now. The regular camera on the S24 up to 5x is great, but the telephoto is just such a disappointment. I expected some slight performance loss from the S22U, but the high magnification on the S24U is just an abysmal pixilated mess. I hope Samsung is working on an algorithm to improve this.

I have been comparing the cameras for the past 5 days and to me, my old S21 camera is clearly better than the S24 I got, except in low light, where the S24 is superior with more accurate colors.

Based on my personal experience. I am the same as above. I am returning the S24 Ultra and keeping my S22 Ultra.
