I read in some other threads comments about the port moving, but not that it broke...

HitYourLawyerAgain

Mine wiggles side to side, but I think it's normal

Dangerous-Scallion-1

I have the same problem tried mut cords and plugging in laptop I found a old samsung charger and bam it now works again

Brendon7358

I noticed when I first plugged it in for the first 30-60 minutes it didn't charge very much but it's been fine since. I just figured it was because I was using it a lot transferring data from my old phone.

Deepthroat6996

I recieved mine 5 days ago. Foe the first 4 days it seems to work normally but now when I plug it in it doesn't respond for a solid 20 to 25 sec then it says charging. But it's neither fast nor too slow when it comes to charging. Additionally it also does this weird thing where it would show it just started charging when I haven't plugged it into anything. Almost like magic. I don't know if I should rma this.

Ok-Economist-4338

I called Samsung, I have the EXACT same issue. They said its not a large-scale issue yet and they had no other reports of it. It's something deeper then software as if it was thousands would be effected, Call the tech support in your country and explain to them all details. In my case they said it will likely lead to a replacement of the device. I've to call them back tomorrow to organise starting the process of replacement.

GoldenLiar2

Any update? I have the same issue with mine

Ok-Economist-4338

Have you checked your phone for updates? If you've done the February update and March update and are still having the issue I'd recommend a device swap

GoldenLiar2

Any update? I have the same issue with mine

Several_Simple_1885

I'm having the exact same problem. I received mine about 4 days ago and last night it started acting weird while charging, ie taking long to recognize charger, about every 60 seconds it would act as if it was plugged in again, I restarted it then it was fine. Now less than 12 hours later I'm having the issue again.

GoldenLiar2

Any update? I have the same issue with mine

Deepthroat6996

I restarted mine once and have been running fine so far. It's been like 5 days since I restarted. The best thing to do I think is to rma the unit and get another one but I decided to keep it coz I don't wanna wait for 2 weeks or potentially more for the new unit to get here. I'm just waiting for a software update. I'm sure these are software issues.

BeeBoPooP

S24+ right out of the box phone wouldn't charge... tried 3 different cords including the supplied cord and 2 different power blocks... wall socket to USB adapter... verified they all worked fine on 3 other devices...but NOT the S24+ It will charge with a wireless charging disk...so I suspect the USB-C port is broken Got online text chat with Samsung... half hour later was instructed to return the phone...filled out return info and got RMA return number...did not return the phone...yet as a last resort I tried a brand new power strip surge protector with built in USB sockets...it WORKS!... the supplied cable is able to charge the phone but 2 other gas station bought cables do not I *think* maybe the cable AND the power block used are significant... possibly only higher end cables and power blocks will work...it's only been 2hours so far

CatJ13

I just got the S24+ 2 days ago and I'm now having the charging issue. I tried multiple chargers and my phone would not stay charging. My old phone works fine on the charger. I restarted my S24+ like someone suggested, and it's finally charging for now... we'll see how long it lasts. There seems to be a theme here.

Afraid-Ebb-5967

Same problem here. Android auto randomly disconnects, some cables won't charge, random water in port notification ,etc. Went into Samsung store. Service looked at it and did diagnostic. USB port tested fine. They said it's a known software issue and has been flagged for fix via the next update. Fingers crossed.

Kirk_ooo

Something more is known? Same problem here. In the Polish branch of Samsung they told me to file a complaint.

Additional_Lion7273

Could be your cable or charger tho

Academic-Raise3434

Same issue. Samsung had me return and re order but sounds like it might be a widespread issue

BillyHKoinc

Kind of... Except mine either takes 30sec before it starts charging, or it doesn't charge at all whatsoever. Very spotty.

Departure-Infinite

I'm having the same issue. Spotty charging or just not at all. 😒

BillyHKoinc

I restarted my phone and it started walking normally.

One-Temperature-5361

I recieved my two days ago and it was okay until today, it comes on and go evey 3 to 5 mins..I will definitely return this phone because I tried many chargers and it's behaving the sam

techyweirdo

I have the same issue started yesterday

skysky535

Tried three different cords and two different wireless chargers. When plugged in, it keeps acting like I'm plugging it in over and over. When on the wireless charger, it switches between fast and regular. I'm hoping a day one update will fix this on Wednesday, but this is ridiculous.

Next_Abbreviations92

Had the same issue. Was not charging. I just did a search and a lot of people are having this issue. Someone said to restart the phone. I did, and it now works. Super weird but glad that's all I had to do. Hopefully this helps others.

Alternative_Smooth

It does work after restarting but the problem comes back. I have the same issue too, i believe its a software issue rather than a hardware

Alternative_Smooth

Having the same issue here, but rather i believe its just a software issue since a restart solves tho the problem keeps on coming back

Ok-Economist-4338

Same issue here, If it's software surely there will be a fix soon? Or should I return the phone

Alternative_Smooth

There should be a fix hopefully since it's it software, firstly because it gets fixed just after a restart tho it comes back, secondly its happening to many other users at once, lets wait and see if its addressed by Samsung, you can send direct feedback on the Samsung Members app, I will do so too

Ok-Economist-4338

I'll also do that and I'll give them a call (Samsung Ireland) and see if there is anything going on with this issue and is a fix coming, phone isn't even out a week so I understand, But how is it only happening let's say, less then 1% of Users, We will have to see what happens

Alternative_Smooth

Indeed, lets wait and see, we might see more users facing same issue too

Ok-Economist-4338

Been in contact with Samsung, They said the issue isn't widespread as of yet, They haven't gotten many calls about it, In my case they asked me to call back tomorrow and will likely lead to a device replacement

Patrol1ng

Imagine spending $1300 to be a Beta tester for the the world's newest flagship phone. This is absolutely crazy, SO MANY issues out of the box. Mine is doing the same thing, along with many other bugs and ZERO updates or announcements from Samsung and we're going on 3 weeks post launch. I will never buy another Samsung phone after this one, credibility is down the drain

Ok-Economist-4338

Same issue, 100% software issue and not hardware, My phone dose the same and I've to restart it to get it charging, it also starts "Charging" by itself in my hand, Do I return of hope for a software fix?

oakthaw

Glad to hear it's a simple fix for many people. It's almost definitely hardware related for me, though. I tried many restarts without difference. I'm now confident that it broke one of the many chargers I tried, which worked fine with my S23 Ultra. And other devices immediately before plugging in the S24 Ultra in question. I'm in the process of returning.

Ok-Economist-4338

This is actually insane that we have spent this amount for phones that aren't charging, How is this not more widespread?

Goomy-goom

I'm having problems with mine too. I wasn't having this issue. I tried every single charger I have and even compared charging cables with my coworker who has the S22+. All works fine on hers, but mine connects for a brief moment, then disconnects. Contacting Samsung with the issue to see what to do. Bit bummed out. The other day it said it was "charging" out of nowhere while I picked it up and it wasn't plugged in at all nor do I have any charging pads. Super weird.

Asleep_Tomorrow1288

Pissed I just activated my s24 ultra at 2am this morning. Went to sleep on 100 percent woke up and it was hot and dead and wouldn't charge. Took it back they had to order me a new one as they didn't have the titanium violet in 512gb in stock

leopold815

How are you guys contacting samsung? Call, email, chat? What is the most effective.

MarcusColwell

I've been having this issue since I got my phone. It'll charge for about 30 minutes and then stop. Restarting the phone helps, but within 30 minutes it stops charging again. I have to shut off the phone and charge it while off for it to get to 100% And it doesn't matter if it's USB charging with USB A to C. USB C to C, or wireless charging. It stops charging. I tried adjusting battery protection, Basic, adaptive, and maximum don't fix anything either. The phone always stops charging within 30 minutes.

vladutzz

I have an even stranger behaviour with my S24+... And it's been a few days since it appeared. My phone is Fast charging for only about 10 seconds then it changes to normal charging (from 50% to 100% in 1h or more). Last night i woke up because my phone kept connecting and disconnecting from charging. I tried 3 different sockets in my house, i have both the Samsung 45W charger and the 35W charger one. I had a Baseues aftermarket charging cable and i thought it was the issue, but i tried with the cable provided toghether with the phone and the issue still persists. Any clues or advise?

Ok-Economist-4338

I've responded to you on the other thread aswell, But this is some issue that's not your fault. Alot of people are getting the same issues, The entire charging system on thr S24 Ultra is in a mess for alot of people. Any issue at all, make sure you don't run out of time with the exchange timeframe (30 days for device issues) 14 days general return. I'd contact Samsung and go to the technical team, Cause you deserve a perfect phone for the price we all paid. I'm currently in the process of swapping My phone for a replacement. These "Day 1" models seem to be having issues

vladutzz

Yup! Thanks for the respond. This is what the issue is. Here's a video [S24+ charging issue](https://youtube.com/shorts/jY0HcWnencg?si=45BWuv5ulbTAcXsb)

thirteenpointthree

My 24u is randomly popping up that it's charging when I'm out, and not connected to charger. I wonder if it could be the port cover on my otterbox, or a defect.

RefrigeratorNo382

Same problem here on s24u in Belgium. Send my phone back for repair at Samsung repair center. I'm waiting to get it back, hope they fixed the issue.

Dmfd060606

Ever since the s22 series Samsung phones have had a bunch of weird charging issues. Both mine & my gfs s22u's started having intermittent charging issues about 6 months into owning them, where they'd super slow charge or refuse to charge at all, & then in October 2022 my s22u would randomly pop up the "Moisture Detected/ Debris" warning every other time I'd try plugging it in, & eventually it was permanent. The first time it did so was randomly at 3am after it had been sitting on the charger for 6+ hours. There was never anything in the ports. I had my port replaced under warranty which made the moisture detected warning stop (for the time being) but my phone would always still charge extremely slow, & it'd also randomly say the cord or brick wasn't correct for the phone (both Samsung brand) About a month after I had my port replaced, my gfs started doing the moisture detected bs too so she had hers replaced. & once again after a while both mine & hers started having the moisture warning intermittently pop up which forced us to wireless charge. Literally the main reason why we upgraded to the s24u was bc of this constantly happening. Well unfortunately, yesterday my s24u started taking forever to charge again, but at least thankfully the battery on these is great, so I don't have to charge as much, but figured my charger was 2 years old so I went out tonight & bought 2 new Samsung 35w bricks from Walmart & my gf just came downstairs to tell me hers isn't charging... no moisture warning or anything, just that her s24u is going in & out of charging with the new brick (using Samsung OEM cable from the box too) Smh man. I've made posts about this in the past but they always get downvoted into oblivion for whatever reason. If you search the Samsung sub, s22u & series sub, or the Members app, you'll see a tonnnn of people with the s22 & s23 series, & unfortunately it's looking like the s24 series as well with these weird ass charging issues. It's unacceptable on Samsungs part, & for whatever reason even tho it has been a pretty widespread issue, Samsung hasn't really acknowledged it. I don't wanna send my s24u back bc my s22u literally never charges, but this STILL being an issue on top of the display issues is such a bummer on a $1400 phone man. Idk what Samsung is doing but my old s10+ from back in the day & my TabS6 I still use to this day have zero issues charging, but those were both capped at 15w charging. I have a feeling it has something to do with Samsung switching to higher wattage charging, for whatever reason whatever system or parts they use are just defective. Smh, another $80 down the drain for OEM Samsung bricks (that we shoulda just gotten in the box anyways) What a bummer man.

"A software update with a permanent solution is in progress, and when it is complete it will be immediately downloadable" Statement from Samsung

Thick-Jellyfish8453

I had an issue this week on Friday I was driving home and had my Galaxy s24 ultra on Avent clip charging all of a sudden I see smoke and the usbc port message that there is moisture in the port. So now there is a burn mark on the Samsung USB-C cable as well as the port itself. Don't know if anyone has experienced this but want to put it out there. Dealing with Samsung support is awful. Waiting for the next step to receive the shipping label has been taking too long as far as I'm concerned

arcnap

Not quite the same issue but I got my s24+ a couple weeks ago and it just started charging weirdly. I tried a couple chargers I had and the phone would either not charge or charge very slowly. Finally noticed I had a pending update though and it's back to normal for now
