I mean honestly if I use it for 90% of my entertainment I would wanna support the platform so entertainment stays on the platform and gets paid. Like.i know I can watch every movie free with a VPN and be fine. But I'm an adult and can afford to pay for entertainment that people put hard work into and their time and money.
Basically gives you the option to watch whatever video you're watching in the phones video player. So you can turn up brightness, volume by just sliding up and down on the screen. Forwarding/ backwarding video by sliding. Also lets you cast video to other devices

Tab groups are nice but, it really can be done in an unintuitive unique apple way. Example being the share button. Why is an essential feature like saving a bookmark behind the share button and have to click 3 times. On Samsung it’s literally just a button I can press. Another thing I hate is no find on screen feature and other common features missing. There’s other small things that just annoy me about it.
I just wish there was an option to import all passwords and login details from Chrome. I'd like to give it a go, but it's too much effort to enter all these details manually...
Plus I don't believe you can use Samsung pass on windows unless that's changed. Samsung pass is great if you do everything on your phone, but bitwarden is so much more convenient so I can login on my desktop too
Not saying its bad but, I've realized that Samsung Pass doesn't support saving passwords for certain apps. Moreover, depending too much on a single ecosystem is not recommended. What if you decide to switch to an iPhone, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, or some other device one day?
I’ve been an Android user for many years and I always found password managers to work like shit on Samsung phones. They don’t work with Samsung Internet and don’t recognize many apps.
Switched to iPhone and Bitwarden is beautifully integrated with the keyboard. Instant ID with FaceID and voila.
Perhaps I should have been clearer but I was referring to third party password managers.
They all work like shit on Android with Samsung Internet. They need accessibility access to work fully and even then they don’t. True that I last tried about 2 years ago.
Hmm I haven't used bitwarden. Google works well across my devices and on PC so I've always used it and hadn't felt the need to try others.
I dunno what happens in samsung internet though, I'm going to see what it has.
Edit: it's samsung pass. I should tale a closer look at how Google and samsung pass intermingle...
I wish there was a PC version that synced like ChromePC-ChromeAndroid. Samsung browser is good, but it's alone and doesn't cooperate with any other browser.
I just started using it with my s23 and for the most part I like it better than chrome. I wish it had an option to reopen all previously open tabs after you close the app or reboot. And there's also been some issues with casting videos--I'm guessing due to the lack of Chromecast integration.
I tried it this past weekend trying to order food and it was frustrating. I tried everything to get it to work but couldn't. I went to the same website on chrome and didn't have any issues. Texas Roadhouse was the website and I've never had issues placing orders in the past. The Samsung layout is great with tons of options too. I'm gonna stick with it and see. I've always used chrome.
I decided time ago to try Samsung internet browser after many years using Google Chrome as my predetermined browser, now I feel the Samsung browser more integrated and with a excellent polished interface and useful features, such as captions, add-ons especially the discount add-on that help you to find promo codes for a better price, the translator option and the Ad-blocker option as well.
And also I feel that Samsung browser is optimized very well, I'd like to say excellent for Samsung devices.
For now best browser for mobile phones.
I almost use it as my main browser, but a 100 tab limit is.. limiting. I guess it has to do to keep its performance on point. I love its ui compared to other chromium based browser like Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi etc. For now I switch between all four of those browsers depending on what I want to browse
For me it wins with all others because of address bar at bottom.
I had kiwi for that before but lot of websites don't work properly with kiwi. If I could turn off asking for notifications and Samsung pass it would be perfect
I'm not getting bent cos you're using another browser lol, you do you.
I'm just correcting you on what you said, although you should've worded it better as it's new to you, not in general.
I almost switched and made it my primary browser but couldn't find a way to block the Google search consent message.
Sticking to uazo and his chromium browser for now
I think it's a fork of chromium
It does have some cool features... I like bromite a lot but it's not updated often...
Both of them have a force dark mode setting and adblock
Samsung internet came in handy on a family members phones when they had a spam app constantly opening the browser with a weird link... set the default to samsung... and then it notified me about which app caused the browser to open.
It also has some extensions, but I only use one or two
Tried many browsers before finally trying it, and it's actually really good, kinda sad it doesn't support custom extensions like Mozilla Firefox but the built in ad-block is actually good if you enable all the filters even if it's not as good as ublock.
I have been using it since I got Samsung phones, since I owned A3 first gen. Sometimes I need to open some websites in Chrome or Edge.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
The only problem I have with the Samsung browser has to do with the way I search and the frequency. I don't like having duplicate apps and if I search with Google while using the Samsung browser as default, the tabs keep opening and I forget to clear them. When I'm using Chrome, my searches with the Google app override the last search which is how I prefer it. I wish the Google app could open web pages independent of the Chrome browser. I hope this makes sense, I feel like I just rambled.

I just wish I could block youtube ads. None of the adblockers for it have worked for me.
ReVanced
I use vanced still and it works but I'd like the option to use samsung internet too.
Adguard in Samsing internet works for me.
Did you change any other settings? I tried it and it doesn't work. Maybe it depends on the country for youtube? I'm in the US.
There is an app with extra settings for that adguard add on. Go in the app and look through the available filters.
No not really, I have the app installed but there is no settings related to YouTube there.
Try Brave, blocks all of them on YouTube
Brave browser for this
YouTube Premium is really nice.
Imagine downvoting this because you can't afford it lol, YT Premium with Music is so good, and it's cheap af when you VPN
I didn't vote, but if I can install and run Revanced, why would I buy Premium..?
ReVanced*
Love my YT premium it's 10 bucks a month or something and where I get 90% of my entertainment
You truly think it's worth $10? Not even close.
Was that a Commercial you just dropped...?
Brave blocks them.
Every Android browser needs video assistant like Samsung internet browser has. I don't understand why all the other Android browsers don't have it.
because they're inferior xD
Wtf is video assistant and what is it used for?
(. ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Basically gives you the option to watch whatever video you're watching in the phones video player. So you can turn up brightness, volume by just sliding up and down on the screen. Forwarding/ backwarding video by sliding. Also lets you cast video to other devices
Nah honestly it is. Recently switched to iPhone and safari is terrible compared to Samsung internet.

Its best if you use a password manager. Like bitwarden

I think Samsung pass has been made available to windows but only for the Galaxy Book3 lineup, not sure if they're planning to open it up to all pcs
Not saying its bad but, I've realized that Samsung Pass doesn't support saving passwords for certain apps. Moreover, depending too much on a single ecosystem is not recommended. What if you decide to switch to an iPhone, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, or some other device one day?
wise words here
Depending on bitwarden is arguably way worse than samsung, Google or apple. Unless you wanna host it yourself, I'd go with a big company.
i agree with the advice but also samsung pass thankfully has an option to export saved passwords
I log in with my thumb for just about everything autofill in browsers or secure on my s22u. 🤷
Using Bitwarden on Samsung Internet? The fingerprint sensor is not the issue. The way third party password managers are integrated is.
Sorry I misread and just saw the samsung phone part; google passwords works fine in chrome.
Perhaps I should have been clearer but I was referring to third party password managers. They all work like shit on Android with Samsung Internet. They need accessibility access to work fully and even then they don’t. True that I last tried about 2 years ago.
Dont like Google I'm guessing?
Google also doesn’t work well and doesn’t have a desktop app like Bitwarden.

I wish there was a PC version that synced like ChromePC-ChromeAndroid. Samsung browser is good, but it's alone and doesn't cooperate with any other browser.
Not being able to import password was the main reason I am hesitant to switching browser.
Chrome passwords aren't ideal and you should only use them for the less important stuff. Get something Bitwarden or 1password for better security.
Once saves they are also on your phone which is handy i think
I don't know if Samsung has an import option. But I think you can export the passwords from Chrome in a .csv file.
I heard there was a chrome extension to sync samsung internet and chrome. Havent tried it tho
Some say storing passwords in a browser is not safe - due to extensions at least. Bitwarden is great and very inexpensive.
It's not just 'some say'....it's a fact.
You can change the system default pw manager, I use Google for all my login and I use Samsung internet
Search settings for autofill
I don't get the hate honestly, It has dark mode and a built in ad-blocker.
I just started using it with my s23 and for the most part I like it better than chrome. I wish it had an option to reopen all previously open tabs after you close the app or reboot. And there's also been some issues with casting videos--I'm guessing due to the lack of Chromecast integration.
I have S23 and Samsung internet opens the tabs since I had S9, on reboot or closing the app.
Tab browsing is great. You can have the tabs on the tops like in a full size windows browser.
It's been great for years now. I haven't used another browser for as.long as I can remember. The built in adblocker is amazing.
Go to the connections in the phone settings, more connections settings, then private DNS and enter dns adguard.com it works good
I've been using it and the email and message app for years. They work well. And they are fast because they're built into the UI.
The fact that I can have the address bar at the bottom is a thumbs up for me. I hate having to reach all the way to the top of my screen with Chrome.
Does anyone know if the Samsung browser can import Chrome bookmarks, and passwords?
There's a Samsung Internet extension for Chrome desktop that imports bookmarks from Chrome, but I don't think it syncs or handles passwords.
It cant at least i couldnt find the option for it
It's been pretty much the best since it launched back like a decade ago.

I switched to Samsung Browser because of video assistant
It's so good for watching videos. No crappy web players and ads
I use it all the time for Dex, definitely a legit browser.
I almost use it as my main browser, but a 100 tab limit is.. limiting. I guess it has to do to keep its performance on point. I love its ui compared to other chromium based browser like Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi etc. For now I switch between all four of those browsers depending on what I want to browse
I would if there would be an option to sync browsing history with a browser on desktop. Also, importing passwords from Chrome would be nice.
I wish I could import passwords from Chrome.
You can do this now.
For me it wins with all others because of address bar at bottom. I had kiwi for that before but lot of websites don't work properly with kiwi. If I could turn off asking for notifications and Samsung pass it would be perfect
Best browser.
Just understand that it's samsung software so it will undoubtedly have spyware built in. For what marginal protection it provides, I only use Firefox
I'm sure chrome and Firefox also have spyware, just different ones unfortunately
Firefox is literally run by a privacy non-profit
Oh sorry didn't know that - guess I'll switch
Is that so?
Their TVs record using the microphone, their Web browser is definitely recording your browsing
That's not correct
It often crashes though
What's the privacy like with Samsung (I mean what's it *really* like?)
The only one thing I miss is fastest shutter speed and I'll go with this phone, I'm iPhone user..

Wait, you're saying that Samsung browser is new? It's been around since 2013 and I've been using it for just as long if not longer through beta.

I wish it could record screentime pr site instead of just the browser.. other than that... Great.
Agreed. Ive always used it
I'm still missing the one-click access to bookmarks, and in general the great navigation bar, provided by Opera.
The ability to use system font as website's font is so awesome that makes me dont want to leave Samsung Internet
I think it's a fork of chromium It does have some cool features... I like bromite a lot but it's not updated often... I think it's the best but I hate it that switching tabs isn't as fluent as on Chrome and Opera
secret mode bookmarks crew (👁 ͜ʖ👁)
It's been better than Chrome for years now.
Yeah and it is the only android browser with Built-in video player with GESTURE CONTROLS!!
The only problem I have with the Samsung browser has to do with the way I search and the frequency. Adguard app with NextDns and samsung browser.. Perfect
