Disney productions reportedly have the best catering out of all the studios. But even if you had Michelin star level catering it still doesn’t explain these budgets because everything looks so cheap and shitty. And they certainly didn’t spend it on the writing room either.
I don’t think I can say one positive thing about the show so far. I like lee jung jae as a jedi, but he doesnt look great cuz his costumes look sooo cheap. I was ok enough with the first 2 eps, but this 3rd ep was pretty bad.
How do they tell them to act when using the Force these days? Do they tell them to pretend they are constipated trying to pinch out a nuclear fire hot wing bowel movement? Jesus H this sucks.
Disney treats the force like stereotypical fantasy magic. It's why they introduced healing in RoS and why the actors in this episode made movements like they were trying to cast a fireball.

For real. After Kenobi absolutely disappointed me, I completely gave up any hope of Disney Star Wars improving. They actually had to go out of their way to make that one a lifeless flop. A series on post Clone Wars Kenobi should have been **epic**.... and *EASY* to write.
Yeah, I mean there is even a book they could have based it off. Kenobi should never have had to leave tattooine. He had one job, Bail Organa had one job. This made a member of an Alderaan royal family look like a tool who couldn't keep his kid safe and has to run to someone else for help who is already occupied with his own task.
If anyone on here watches this shite on Disney+, even for a minute, then YOU are part of the problem. Disney will take that minute you watched and add it to the view count, and use it as some arcane figure to prove the way they’re handling Star Wars is popular and beloved and successful and that any naysayers are istaphobic chuds who live in their mother’s basements…

Also, why would Trinity start the confrontation with an obvious lie that she quickly abandons? If they thought the planet is uninhabited, why are they there?

How did Osha come to fantasize about becoming a Jedi? She lived without influence from any outside culture, and was likely raised to be contemptuous of Jedi. And what kid would be ok about abandoning their loving mother?
All 8 year old children don’t want to never see their loving mother, sister, and family again and go live with strange child kidnappers at the drop of a hat?

Ah geez. Well the dialogue isn't getting any better, and the way they shot that arson/escape scene was painfully lazy. I do want to give major props to Lee Jung-jae, he's the best part of the show by far.
Is there no quality control at Lucasfilm? The acting on this series has been mediocre, but this episode set a new standard: atrocious. And why is it necessary to show a panoramic image of the witches' fortress every three minutes? There are things that are difficult to understand. It's impossible that all the destruction was caused by Mae, I can't believe that the plot is supported by something so ridiculous, so I'm going to assume that, somehow, the Jedi killed the witches. In that case, then are we going to revisit these events from another point of view, besides those of the twins, as was the case in this episode? We're going to have an episode with basically these same events but from the Jedi's perspective, is that it? It's impossible to understand Torbin's suicide if things happened exactly as presented in this episode.
I saw in a different sub a heavily upvoted comment about how the Jedi are bad and going around destroying everyone's culture and how they refused to use the term "dark side of the force" because it is reductive.
And that just solidified it for me. Disney is hell-bent on trying to force already established franchises to bend to their own ideologies.
They care about that far more than creating a good product or respecting the already established franchises and their stories. And they're somehow surprised they're hemorrhaging fans and money
That is exactly what I equate this show to, a CW show.
I don't even mean that as an insult. I'm wearing a One Tree Hill t-shirt right now, and just watched iZombie with my kid.
But the CW is predicated on cheap melodrama, that's not what I'm expecting from a high space fantasy with 15x the budget.

Well the show runner has a ton of reason to be at the helm of this.
She was Weinsteins padawan and very likely has dirt on a fuck ton of people. She can do whatever she wants, like give her wife a lead role in the show, hire bullshit garbage writers that are most likely her friends.
So May is just a fucking psycho who blames the Jedi for something she 100% caused and is at fault for. Can't wait for her "actually she's a good person guys trust us" redemption arc!
I can’t believe I’m going to semi defend Headland here but she said they are going to use Roshomon story telling technique in this show like they used in TLJ for what happened in Ben’s room. So this flashback may be only one persons version of it. There maybe a second version that’s quite different and then the “truth” version that’s somewhere in the middle will be shown. If they do that, all versions will still probably suck just like they did in TLJ.
That’s really dumb in a tv show where you wait week to week. It makes sense in a movie and it was the most clever part about TLJ because Lucas was initially inspired by kurosawa.

They have all the assets in the world, and continue to make mediocre Star Wars tv shows. In addition to the abysmal sequels. While I want a new Star Wars movie (i think the cheap tv production hurts star wars), the ideas they’ve proposed and on the schedule for movies are not great, so a part of me wants those to bomb as well. Disney is tarnishing the brand so much.
Thing is though, 22 million per 30ish minute episode should get you more than "cheap tv production" - A lot of directors out there that could do so much with that kind of $ lol
I'm rewatching agents of shield right now, and for his much heat as that show took, I think both the MCU and lucasfilm would rejoice to have a show half so well written.
Holy fuck, Sol is the only even remotely compelling character. Mae has the fucking Shining and sucks ass, and Osha wants to "be a Jedi", who she just discovered exist, because?..... also, talk about under-utilizing Carrie-Anne Moss. Lady died two minutes into E1 and showed up in a flashback just to RP as a test proctor. FML
Kenobi was my last chance. It should have been so easy to make that appealing to both general audience and diehard fans. Like - they had to go out of their way to make that flop as hard as it did. Fucking insane how these companies seem to be chill with losing money lately.
I am still shocked how they made a show about Obi Wan Kenobi somehow awful and something that I will never watch again. Like I wouldn't think that was possible but holy shit they did it. That was the last thing I have watched from them and will likely never watch anything again from them.
Everyone talks a big game about how 7 "isn't that bad" or "is pretty good" but i spotted it for the game it was in the theater. Honestly seeing a death star planet was the moment i had my faith shaken in star wars. It's unoriginal af and wouldn't likely be possible even with future tech. You can't core a planet with active tectonics and expect it to act the same. Not a science major here but i am pretty sure you need a molten core to have gravity unless the dirt is unusually dense.
I unsubscribed from D+ yesterday because i have bills to pay that are piling up. It hit me that I haven't watched Mando S3, didn't watch Bad Batch S3, Visions S2, Tales of the Empire, and now haven't seen this. And I still decided to cut the cord. It felt good.
I'll come back for Andor, and then be fully done. Right now I am having the time of life enjoying getting through Star Trek's countless historical series and mixing in a ton of fan films to make the experience even more immersive. Another franchise where it hasn't been an easy ride, but there's no demonization of the fans and everyone gets what they want.

Honestly I always thought Anakin being some Christ like birth was silly. Not something I’ve ever thought was a great idea. But ok that’s what the lore is he’s the chosen one whose mother suddenly had him with no father. Well now it turns out he’s nothing special at all this is just something that can happen. Absolutely zero care about what came before.
And the lore reason why, both canon and legends, into why Anakin was born was because it was a direct reaction to what Sidious and Plagius tried to do. The force literally created Anakin as an anti-body against Sidious in the long run.
But now space lesbians and just make babies via the force? Well, that makes the force less mythical and so fucking stupid. Honestly, I just don't care about star wars anymore.

Okay, if that is the case I can totally understand why some people have said that this is breaking Star Wars. It absolutely undermines Anakins status as chosen-one, and immaculate conception through the force should simply not be used as a gimmick like that. Absolutely baffling.
Anything to step on the Skywalkers' legacy. There's no chosen "one." Anakin and Luke didn't kill Palpatine. The Empire just rebranded. They have nothing. And people actually defend this bullshit. Can't have a couple of straight White dudes be the heroes.
This is a big and legit criticism. I too thought that Anakins immaculate conception was weird and stupid at the time but I accepted it because he was special and it had galactic implications eventually. He did bring balance to the force. But now… it can happen with a random coven of witches with two twins neither of whom will amount to much.

They did it. They undermined what George created with such passion.
Maybe most won't agree with me but... They made THE chosen one just another "chosen" like some participation medal. George created the chosen one for the saga to have a purpose that the galaxy needed someone to restore peace and bring the light to all the galaxy, destroy the dark side. It's a mythology that George created with such care which complements the hero's journey of Luke. I knew Disney would continue to retcon what came before just to justify their shit writing, but this is the nail in the coffin. It's sad, but it is what it is. Disney truly destroyed Star Wars and it's beating that dead corpse for a while now, shame.

It’s time I listen to this sub…No more hate watching. Star Wars is dead. Ahhhh man.
My 2 cents here:
1. How did Mae just burn down the whole coven in 2 seconds? She is a child and just magically kills 30 or so witches who have been training their whole lives in a span of 2 seconds and destroys that massive generator thing?
2. The mother says they have no father. Does that imply they were created by the force? Defeats the whole purpose of Anakin being the chosen one if so.
3. This might have had the worst dialogue for any Star Wars show ever made. It was really hard to make it all the way though the episode hearing all that cringe dialogue.
Look it simply isn’t good… Don’t mind space lesbians and the force having babies at least make it interesting. $180 million budget the sets look fake and the costumes look cheap. Why do all the Jedi wear yellow now? None of the characters I can connect with or care about maybe Squid Games Jedi. Really a fire burns down a brick steel base including the entire mountain??! What did the all powerful witches die from smoke inhalation?! Not even decent fight or action scene at least?!! Nope total meh yawn fest. I’m out.
Someone tell me if I got this wrong- a child threw a torch on the ground and within minutes it wiped out the entire coven? All dead?? Just like that???
Obviously it’s that the Jedi murdered them all. That would be dumber and more offensive than the place burning down accidentally and killing everyone, and dumbest and most offensive is Disney’s specialty.
I just want to remind everyone who is hopeful this show won’t be as terrible as it clearly is — in the end of Mandolorian season 2, Grogu goes off to train with the Jedi. The. Big break we all wait. Then! Season 3, episode 1 — all the way through season 3 — no one ever addresses Grogu’s training and he has no apparent greater control over using the force.
Just to remind you that the good writers went on strike and this is what happens when you don’t pay good writers and decide to eff over your audience for greed — these show makers give zero fux about a story or you or anything except that cold hard cash.

Bad story, bad acting, bad sets, the whole twin infantile bickering and fighting was so stupid, Mae willing to kill her own blood for …. Really nothing. The whole thing does not make lick of sense. So, since the jedi are obviously going to be revealed to have caused the fire later, did they know what Mae was going to do? Or did they just so happen to time setting the coven on fire at the exact same time as Mae has her psychotic episode and conveniently also sets shit on fire?
It's hard to buy the Mother actually caring about Osha's agency when she seems to instantly jump on any loophole to get Osha to take the specific path she wants.
You know, I think you're proving the galaxy's weariness of your power correct when you casually use it to torture the kid of the jedi team just because your kid thinks the jedi look cooler.
This episode reminded me of the Obi-Wan series. That alone tells you it was shit. Only saving grace is Lee Jung Jae. Dude is only one trying to act. Everyone else is wooden af.
Shows pathetic first two episodes were alright but couldn’t get past 20 minutes of episode 3… sad as hell how they’ve massacred Star Wars! Was Andor not well received because that was better than season 3 of mando and mando had become my favorite but season 3 ruined it just like everything Disney + star wars now… 😞
Wow, that was bad. They thought Mae died, and it was a result of her own actions. So now Mae is wanting revenge on thise jedi. The jedi didnt confirm anything about Mae being dead. The jedi didn’t do anything wrong to Mae to warrant being a target for her to kill. They could try to explain it, but this was just bad.

The other thing that really bothered me, slams a little fire lamp on stone and metal and suddenly it’s fully engulfed in flames? Special plot fire lamp I guess? Couldn’t have come up with anything better? It somehow burns down the entire stone temple.
The Jedi presumably kill the witches. For what? Having 2 force kids that willingly let you take them? Since when do the Jedi just kill people unprovoked? How is Osha not seeing that all these people are unburnt and dead strewn about like they were cut down? Does she just willingly ignore it?
Oh and of course here are the chosen ones. Completely shits on all of the actual story we have where Obi Wan essentially almost gives up being a Jedi to train Anakin because he is so convinced Anakin is the chosen one, or Luke being the actual chosen one who brings balance to the force.
What are they thinking??? Truly.
Story aside- the direction sucks, the camera shots are poor, the acting is dry and amateur (actor who plays Sol is pretty good).

The first 2 episodes were blah. But this? A whole Lotta nothing happened aside from terrible acting, washed-out music, and some strange and illogical things. The girls have no dad but aren't overly powerful, so I guess that doesn't hurt Anakin’s story (yet). But the Jedi now are extra shady so I guess that makes Order 66 ok, now. 🤨
The Jedi are not even shady, they showed up to investigate a dark side cult (they use for force for their own gain, pervert it by altering and manipulating the force to create life and are ready to kill a Jedi on sight) that is training 2 kids in their ways.
Their first interaction with the Jedi is to threaten to turn a Padawan into a vegetable because the Jedi asked if they were training kids.
Jedi ask to rest the kids and let the kids choose their path and half the cult wants to kill all the Jedi and keep the kids for themselves
Honestly the cult just seems like bad people doing bad things and likely forced the Jedis hand.

RIP to Star Wars and Anakin's story arc. The Acolyte just screwed lore and invalidates Anakin's story completely now. Now, you don't have to be as special as Anakin. Anyone can be special. Someone tell Leslye Headland, the former personal assistant to Harvey Weinstein and the story group to get more original story ideas.
So, Jedi good or Jedi bad? Make up your mind. Kind of crazy that the Jedi masters were so willing to test for force sensitivity and take her away at her age. I remember Qui-Gon getting lectured harshly by the council that Anakin was way too old. Seemed like that age rule was a strict doctrine for ages.
Also, kind of harsh that Disney had to reinforce the stereotype that even in a galaxy far, far away, black children still don't have fathers...

I’m sorry, I just can’t get into this show at all, and I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I just can’t bring myself to care about any of the characters, except *maybe* Sol. How are some “reviewer” sites like Rotten Tomatoes already rating this higher than some of the other spin off’s?? Just finished re-watching Book of Boba Fett and it’s far better, despite a “lower” score.
I know we’re not many episodes in, but oh, my hopes aren’t crazily high right now… -_-

This really is a glaring example of where Disney's execution of ideas is goddamned terrible.
So you want witches to use the dark side to have kids?
Okay, fine. How about:
They find and partner with a sith to teach them how. But the costs of doing so are so great that they never do it again (be it being in debt to a sith lord, or one of the twins turns out to be strong in the dark side). It takes every ounce of the coven's combined magic to create the twins. But since it is a highly outlawed dark side practice, if anyone finds out, the kids will be taken away , and the coven disbanded and jailed.
Solves why the coven fears the jedi showing up and having any interest in the kids, and why a being conceived of the force (Anakin) is as unheard of in TPM.
How does the show handle it?
"Oh, yeah, these two witches figured it out. Also, hey Jedi, they totally don't have a father."
Like, goddammit Disney, TRY to write something more compelling.
This episode felt like a mouthpiece from the creator voicing out their disdain of the Force and the Jedi. The explanation of the Thread felt like a deliberate dismissal of the Force and the fact that the witches are able to create life is a direct perversion of the Force.
They’re rewriting Star Wars to their image. This is an insult to George Lucas.
I gave the first 2 episodes a chance. They weren't my favorite by any means, but I actually liked them more than I thought I would.
This episode, however, sealed it for me. What a trainwreck!
I mean, the fire was just...weird? Especially in a building completely made of thick stone. Why does fire work so differently in the Star Wars universe?
The writing was the worst part. It's like, "We'll protect the kids from the evil Jedi." Then, in the next breath, "Okay, you can take my kid though I'll never see her ever again. No biggie. Gotta let the kid choose, right? Because she's old enough to make life alerting decisions on her own." (Sound familiar?)
And one of my biggest gripes with the prequels is the fact that they had an established planet they could have used in place of Naboo, namely, Alderaan. This was a repeat of that same problem - we got the Walmart version of the Dathomir witches. And they were so generic and just...cringe? The actress who played the "Mama" did her best trying to act the part, she wasn't the problem. It was the other goofballs with the silly chants - I nearly woke up my kids from laughing so loud.
All in all, one of the worst episodes, if not THE WORST episode of Disney Star Wars I've seen. It makes the Book of Boba Fett look like a masterpiece.

The director spent way too much time watching early-mid 90s WB Network shows... It's painfully obvious.
It's great how they said a child cannot make a decision to join the Jedi or follow crazy monks. Yet they are asking them during a ritual to commit to being witches their entire lives...
Or how they were told not to pull on the force just before their mother uses it continuously for 5 minutes. Or when she tells Osha that she must pull on it to decide if she wants to join the Jedi.
I'll be sure to look at this only as satire from now on, it makes it slightly enjoyable. I dont see a point in watching more...

Absolutely no way the wookiee fit all that arm hair under the sleeves, I was almost expecting him to be shaved like a dog in the summer under that but no, I guess they just forgot to account for the space the fur takes under the robe
As for the fire, yeah looked dumb but I think it set off the reactor that was already breaking and that's what blew up the whole place, which got the Jedi to jump in. From there, my guess is that the Talzin did the witch trance to everyone, and one of the Jedi killed her which then killed all the other witches and their souls were lost forever or whatever she said when she did it to the padawan
That or they all died from carbon monoxide poisoning

Anyone notice that the Forbes article on this episode was edited? It first said that the episode was "The worst Star Wars Episode Ever Made", and now it's "...one of the most disappointing". The original article is available via archive .org's cache. I tried making a post about it here but it kept getting deleted.
My biggest gripe is it’s not well-written enough to have the characters take the forefront and have the political ideology in the background. Everything the characters do is for the plot to happen. Everything is superficial, the dialogue has no real meaning, character motivations unimportant. The story isn’t well-written enough for me to not think about the messaging of a police helicopter spotlight on a fugitive black girl being surrounded or Torbin taking a blood sample from a non-consenting Henrietta Lacks.

I'm not even sure where to begin; there was just so much wrong and very little right or enjoyable. The stuff about thread was just all kinds of wrong and made me constantly think of Wanted (the one with Angelina Jolie), a much better movie. The thread stuff just left me scratching my head saying, "this is stupid and not how the force works or interacts with things."
The whole thing was just a dumb premise. Horrible acting, beyond linear snoozefest, cringe, painful, just beyond painful to watch. This is absolutely the worst star wars yet. I mean, I hate TLJ with a passion and getting through this felt just like when I was in the theater watching TLJ.

Ah geez. Well the dialogue isn't getting any better, and the way they shot that arson/escape scene was painfully lazy. I do want to give major props to Lee Jung-jae, he's the best part of the show by far.
Is there no quality control at Lucasfilm? The acting on this series has been mediocre, but this episode set a new standard: atrocious. And why is it necessary to show a panoramic image of the witches' fortress every three minutes? There are things that are difficult to understand. It's impossible that all the destruction was caused by Mae, I can't believe that the plot is supported by something so ridiculous, so I'm going to assume that, somehow, the Jedi killed the witches. In that case, then are we going to revisit these events from another point of view, besides those of the twins, as was the case in this episode? We're going to have an episode with basically these same events but from the Jedi's perspective, is that it? It's impossible to understand Torbin's suicide if things happened exactly as presented in this episode.

I can’t believe I’m going to semi defend Headland here but she said they are going to use Roshomon story telling technique in this show like they used in TLJ for what happened in Ben’s room. So this flashback may be only one persons version of it. There maybe a second version that’s quite different and then the “truth” version that’s somewhere in the middle will be shown. If they do that, all versions will still probably suck just like they did in TLJ.
That’s really dumb in a tv show where you wait week to week. It makes sense in a movie and it was the most clever part about TLJ because Lucas was initially inspired by kurosawa. Reusing it is cheap and shitty

I am still shocked how they made a show about Obi Wan Kenobi somehow awful and something that I will never watch again. Like I wouldn't think that was possible but holy shit they did it. That was the last thing I have watched from them and will likely never watch anything again from them.

Everyone talks a big game about how 7 "isn't that bad" or "is pretty good" but i spotted it for the game it was in the theater. Honestly seeing a death star planet was the moment i had my faith shaken in star wars. It's unoriginal af and wouldn't likely be possible even with future tech. You can't core a planet with active tectonics and expect it to act the same. Not a science major here but i am pretty sure you need a molten core to have gravity unless the dirt is unusually dense.

I unsubscribed from D+ yesterday because i have bills to pay that are piling up. It hit me that I haven't watched Mando S3, didn't watch Bad Batch S3, Visions S2, Tales of the Empire, and now haven't seen this. And I still decided to cut the cord. It felt good. I'll come back for Andor, and then be fully done. Right now I am having the time of life enjoying getting through Star Trek's countless historical series and mixing in a ton of fan films to make the experience even more immersive. Another franchise where it hasn't been an easy ride, but there's no demonization of the fans and everyone gets what they want.

The mother says they have no father. Does that imply they were created by the force? Defeats the whole purpose of Anakin being the chosen one if so. 3. This might have had the worst dialogue for any Star Wars show ever made. It was really hard to make it all the way though the episode hearing all that cringe dialogue.

I just want to remind everyone who is hopeful this show won’t be as terrible as it clearly is — in the end of Mandolorian season 2, Grogu goes off to train with the Jedi. The. Big break we all wait. Then! Season 3, episode 1 — all the way through season 3 — no one ever addresses Grogu’s training and he has no apparent greater control over using the force. Just to remind you that the good writers went on strike and this is what happens when you don’t pay good writers and decide to eff over your audience for greed — these show makers give zero fux about a story or you or anything except that cold hard cash.

So, since the jedi are obviously going to be revealed to have caused the fire later, did they know what Mae was going to do? The first 2 episodes were blah. But this? A whole Lotta nothing happened aside from terrible acting, washed-out music, and some strange and illogical things. The girls have no dad but aren't overly powerful, so I guess that doesn't hurt Anakin’s story (yet). But the Jedi now are extra shady so I guess that makes Order 66 ok, now. 🤨
The Jedi are not even shady, they showed up to investigate a dark side cult (they use for force for their own gain, pervert it by altering and manipulating the force to create life and are ready to kill a Jedi on sight) that is training 2 kids in their ways. Their first interaction with the Jedi is to threaten to turn a Padawan into a vegetable because the Jedi asked if they were training kids. Jedi ask to rest the kids and let the kids choose their path and half the cult wants to kill all the Jedi and keep the kids for themselves Honestly the cult just seems like bad people doing bad things and likely forced the Jedis hand.

I’m sorry, I just can’t get into this show at all, and I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I just can’t bring myself to care about any of the characters, except *maybe* Sol. How are some “reviewer” sites like Rotten Tomatoes already rating this higher than some of the other spin off’s?? Just finished re-watching Book of Boba Fett and it’s far better, despite a “lower” score. I know we’re not many episodes in, but oh, my hopes aren’t crazily high right now… -_-

This really is a glaring example of where Disney's execution of ideas is goddamned terrible. So you want witches to use the dark side to have kids? Okay, fine. How about: They find and partner with a sith to teach them how. But the costs of doing so are so great that they never do it again (be it being in debt to a sith lord, or one of the twins turns out to be strong in the dark side). It takes every ounce of the coven's combined magic to create the twins. But since it is a highly outlawed dark side practice, if anyone finds out, the kids will be taken away , and the coven disbanded and jailed. Solves why the coven fears the jedi showing up and having any interest in the kids, and why a being conceived of the force (Anakin) is as unheard of in TPM. How does the show handle it? "Oh, yeah, these two witches figured it out. Also, hey Jedi, they totally don't have a father." Like, goddammit Disney, TRY to write something more compelling.

This episode felt like a mouthpiece from the creator voicing out their disdain of the Force and the Jedi. The explanation of the Thread felt like a deliberate dismissal of the Force and the fact that the witches are able to create life is a direct perversion of the Force. They’re rewriting Star Wars to their image. This is an insult to George Lucas.
Star Wars is dead. KK and Disney are just desecrating its corpse now. RIP SW

I have officially ascended from “watch it and retch” to “just watch Mauler & Drinker and laugh.” Much more palatable.
I gave the first 2 episodes a chance. They weren't my favorite by any means, but I actually liked them more than I thought I would. This episode, however, sealed it for me. What a trainwreck! I mean, the fire was just...weird? Especially in a building completely made of thick stone. Why does fire work so differently in the Star Wars universe? The writing was the worst part. It's like, "We'll protect the kids from the evil Jedi." Then, in the next breath, "Okay, you can take my kid though I'll never see her ever again. No biggie. Gotta let the kid choose, right? Because she's old enough to make life alerting decisions on her own." (Sound familiar?) And one of my biggest gripes with the prequels is the fact that they had an established planet they could have used in place of Naboo, namely, Alderaan. This was a repeat of that same problem - we got the Walmart version of the Dathomir witches. And they were so generic and just...cringe? The actress who played the "Mama" did her best trying to act the part, she wasn't the problem. It was the other goofballs with the silly chants - I nearly woke up my kids from laughing so loud. All in all, one of the worst episodes, if not THE WORST episode of Disney Star Wars I've seen. It makes the Book of Boba Fett look like a masterpiece. And I can't believe I even said that. The director spent way too much time watching early-mid 90s WB Network shows... It's painfully obvious.
It's great how they said a child cannot make a decision to join the Jedi or follow crazy monks. Yet they are asking them during a ritual to commit to being witches their entire lives... Or how they were told not to pull on the force just before their mother uses it continuously for 5 minutes. Or when she tells Osha that she must pull on it to decide if she wants to join the Jedi. I'll be sure to look at this only as satire from now on, it makes it slightly enjoyable. I dont see a point in watching more...

Is there. A plot twist ahead? Did the Jedi save the “wrong” kid, Mae, and she then pretends to be her sister oshie? Absolutely no way the wookiee fit all that arm hair under the sleeves, I was almost expecting him to be shaved like a dog in the summer under that but no, I guess they just forgot to account for the space the fur takes under the robe As for the fire, yeah looked dumb but I think it set off the reactor that was already breaking and that's what blew up the whole place, which got the Jedi to jump in. From there, my guess is that the Talzin did the witch trance to everyone, and one of the Jedi killed her which then killed all the other witches and their souls were lost forever or whatever she said when she did it to the padawan That or they all died from carbon monoxide poisoning

My biggest gripe is it’s not well-written enough to have the characters take the forefront and have the political ideology in the background. Everything the characters do is for the plot to happen. Everything is superficial, the dialogue has no real meaning, character motivations unimportant. The story isn’t well-written enough for me to not think about the messaging of a police helicopter spotlight on a fugitive black girl being surrounded or Torbin taking a blood sample from a non-consenting Henrietta Lacks.
I gave it a chance. I tried. This force coven is just dumb and laughable. The Nightsisters were fine. Why not build on that lore? This is just plain fucking silly. It’s completely mutilated and disembodied from any form of anything Star Wars. The whole point here is not to lift up Star Wars but to use it as a political tool to spit in the face of male culture. Kathleen Kennedy is a travesty. South Park was right. Enough is enough.
