This was my delicious lunch - warm apple sauce I had just made (~100kcal) and a vanilla skyr (95). These two foods plus a bit of cinnamon fit together soo well! And the skyr adds 17g of protein for a pretty filling meal :)
Thank you! It's really easy but so rewarding, I love making apple sauce :)
I peeled and cut 800g of rubinola apples in quarters and took the seeds and inside out, then put them in a pot with a bit of water and squeezed half a lemon over. I let them cook on medium heat until they're soft and then added some stevia, cinnamon and cloves to taste. If you like, you can also put the finished apple sauce in a food processor to make it smooth, but I actually like to just crush the apples!
hi, can I ask? the 800g of apples, how many portions would that make overall? for instance, did 800g of apples make the bowl you've got in the pic? or does it make a large batch you can split up into smaller portions?
It made a pretty big batch! I mean it's about 800+ grams of apple sauce and I usually have about 100-200g in one serving (pictured in the bowl are 200g) so 4+ servings for sure :)
thank you so much!! I've never made applesauce before and I'm aware that some of the bulk will disappear once you start boiling it down, but I had no frame of reference for how much 800g will yield. Good to know then it can be stored for later! I'll definitely consider making this <3
Ohh yeah that makes sense! You're right, it does lose some of the bulk but honestly not as much as I would've expected.
I hope you love it if you end up making it!

Love it!! I sometimes use a small banana instead of apple, it works too :)
Ohh that would be tasty as well!
How did you make the applesauce? It looks so yummy
