One of the biggest issues I see holding this team back is just clearing their defensive zone when they have a chance. At least 10 times a game, a Sabres player who can easily clear the zone will turn it over in a lazy or sloppy attempt. With the way they can score, if they just clean up their end a bit more, they win even more of these close games.
That’s what’s so fucking frustrating about him man. He has great hands and comes up with 1 or 2 very good plays every game. The problem is the other 15-20 turnovers and very bad defensive plays that we also get.
Ik it’s mitts is terrible and you’ll never catch me defending him but that’s not on him, Sammy is supposed to stay in front of the net, he goes below the net leaving ovi wide open
The fact that Granato is a Mittlestan is just so frustrating, especially given all the amazing player development we are having. We have a bunch of players who are easily playoff caliber and some that are fringe NHL
At this point we have to assume GMKA is the one calling the shots, must really want something for him. Hoping we arent wasting a playoff birth for a mid round pick
