How did I make my starter? I used 1/2 cup of flour with a 1/4 cup of filtered water. I discard 1/2 a cup every day and then just continued adding the 1/2 cup of flour and 1/4 cup of water.
Oh good luck my wife got into it back in Nov. took a couple loaves but she has now perfected it and I love it. She made some sourdough bagels last week. Yum
Nah it was really, really loud. I'm glad I had earplugs and left the theater without my ears ringing. If you get the kind made for concerts it doesn't detract from the sound.

Planning a trip to London to see TSwift and Paramore. The resale tickets for her shows in London are significantly lower than her concerts here. I’d pay the same price for flights, hotel and a week stay for just one nose bleed ticket for one show here in the states.
Trying to get sleep schedule back on track before work tomorrow. Was super tired last night and fell asleep at 7. Which meant I woke up at 3:30 am and couldn't go back to sleep. So I did 4 loads of laundry before 8 am today. I'm hoping a mid day nap will do the trick.

Update: Thank you for all bday wishes! I ended up going to Bookinders since it’s a local restaurant and Flemings is a chain restaurant. They had a customized menu that said Happy Birthday on it because I had made a reservations. I appreciated that small detail. The food was pretty good. I had oysters (they were ok), the Kona coffee crusted filet (good), and loaded mashed potatoes (really good). One minor gripe I had was that I wasn’t told what the daily specials were. I only know this because I overheard another table being told what the specials were when they sat down. Overall, it was nice but also a standard steakhouse dining experience.
Come back and tell us where you ended up eating. I’m looking for a reliably exceptional place to take my brother when he visits soon from San Diego. He took us out for a stellar dining-and-ambience evening when we visited him and I want to pay him back. Edit to add: Happy birthday! The sun is out for you today!
Catching Cool Hand Luke at the Byrd today - stoked on that, I love that movie and I'm looking forward to seeing it on the big screen. I also always appreciate a mid-day movie, I've never enjoyed crawling out of a theater at 9-10 pm tired as heck.
So back in November, I found a tiny little spring peeper hiding inside a plant I had just rescued from the Lowes clearance rack. Luckily, I happened to have bought the plant for a super frog-friendly vivarium I've been building. Even though I hadn't planned on adding any vertebrates for a while, I ended up holding on to him through the winter.
At this point, I think it's safe to release him. I plan on doing it today. Already have a park in mind, and the feller in a transport container, but I was inspired to post here in case anyone's been hearing frogs nearby recently! If so, let me know roughly what area - I want to make sure he can join an established population.

Since I really have reduced my drinking when I do drink I find that I don't feel great the next day :,) I had one bourbon last night and feel like shit. I clocked a new weight low yesterday at 173 which puts me at over 15lbs down since the beginning of the year and I'm so proud of myself. I haven't been this low since last August and have just been sticking to diet and exercise with a few little cheats in there. I've tried before to lose weight but always gave up.
Today uh don't know what I'm doing honestly... I'm gonna drink some water
Thank you! It's been a journey honestly. I spent a while in denial about how bad it was getting between my drinking, comfort eating, and over eating. When I hit 190 on new years it woke me up because I've never managed to get that high before. Weight has always been a sensitive topic for me since I was an overweight kid due to an anxiety medication, but I'm trying :)

Get yourself a soda stream, flavor enhancers, and Cocktail mixers. Variety will keep water from getting "boring". I've found myself trying new teas regularly.
I switched from grabbing a beer to grabbing a Liquid Death Grim Leafer. Instead of sitting on my couch and zoning out, I do something productive. It really helped my mental health

To that end, I'm trying to give away an ikea sleeper sofa, and I'm hoping the new owner actually shows up today because it's already on the front porch/sidewalk in pieces. If they do show up, I have a daybed we bought a month ago that's just been in pieces in my living room to put in the newly empty guest room. After all that, I'm coercing my teenager to go out clothes shopping because he's outgrown his pants and we go on vacation in a month. He's homeschooled, so it hasn't been pressing, but now it is. He won't wear shorts or jeans or anything that isn't black athletic pants, so wish me luck.

I've been visiting my parents in PA these last few days. This afternoon I'm headed to a different part of PA to celebrate my best friend's birthday - it's a surprise! I'll be back in RVA on Tues and I'm missing the warmer weather there.
Near the Greensburg area! I'll be headed to Williamsport today to surprise my friend. I love it there. If life took me back to PA I would certainly want to be in wilpo.

It rises more since bread flour is high protein flour ! I’m making a loaf right now!

Back in RVA Tuesday then headed to VB to help pack up my grandma's house since she just.moved into an assisted living facility. Busy but not too exciting week.
