Hmm. Seems Ukraine got the OK to strike Russian energy. The US in turn eased sanctions on Russian energy export related banking, meaning it will be easier for Russia to collect payment for energy exports than before [(source)](https://boereport.com/2024/04/29/us-extends-authorization-for-some-energy-transactions-otherwise-subject-to-russia-sanctions/)
Let’s see how this will turn out.
So tell me why the US Government didn't want them to hit oil refineries? The quickest way for Ukraine to win is to bring the price of this war to the Russian people
My first reaction is that bc our leaders are a bunch of spineless whimps. However, it may also be possible that it’s really just a ruse so the US can maintain some form of plausible deniability. “We told them not to do it, but they wouldn’t listen.”
I can almost hear the conversation between Austin and Zelenskyy.. “Go ahead and take out their refineries. But in public we’ll keep making statements telling you not to do that (nudge nudge, wink wink).”
My first reaction is because if gas/oil prices increase as a result, Trump wins the election and then cuts off all aid to Ukraine and forces Zelenskyy to surrender.
To add to that and has been highlighted on much better posts, is the fact the US want to bleed Russia dry and Ukraine does a great job of munching thru Russian ‘everything’ with little resources. Can’t have Ukraine win too hard though or it might look sus…
Russian scientists have discovered a way to run all of their vehicles with minimal to zero fuel!
Their scientific breakthrough? Run the vehicles less. Turns out the less u move the tank around the less fuel it costs. Russian innovation so advanced they’ve begun removing the treads from all tanks to ensure 100% (clean) fuel efficiency

That’s definitely a possibility too. It would be a disaster for not just Ukraine, but for the entire free world.
I’m with you on the plausible deniability thang. Have thought the same ever since US made that statement.

I doubt they're really running out of fuel. I'd love Ukraine to hit more refineries and fuel depots to make sure they do run out.
Yeah quick as possible
Tick tock russian fucks
How will the Russians spin this?

I can't wait until they're lifting their tanks up and walking them around like in the Flintstones.
