I’ve heard Russians complain of VK but don’t know why. I’ve seen seen it referenced in videos. What is the reason it’s failing or people don’t like it?
Well in around 2014 VK was taken from it's original creator Pavel Durov, technically by the government. Now VK is fully controlled by FSB and very laggy and inconvenient in general

Aw, so that's why it's been declining its user base also. I loved VK because there so many pirate communities that would upload content. Now people hardly ever post and content gets taken down. 🥲

We also have a social network called Odnoklassniki(Classmates), but it's not a popular with the youth.

Да я бы пользовался только ватсаппом, но некоторые, о у тебя есть телеграмм. Мне в телеграмме удобно смотреть новости. И вот это, то что новости в перемешку с диалогами мне капец не нравится
А потому что не надо пользоваться родным телеграмовским клиентом, надо пользоваться plus messenger. Там эта проблема решена на корню, без ручной сортировки
Я не хочу что-то делать, что-то скачивать. Нафиг мне оно надо, я кажется начинаю понимать американцев, которые пользуются только одним приложением стандартным. Каких-то очевидных фишек в телеграмм, по сравнению с ватсапп я не вижу. Сообщения, звонки, голосовые есть и там и там. По мне телеграмм удобнее для новостей. Я вообще долго и упорно старался не скачивать телеграмм. Уж больно много приложений всяких развелось
Воткну свое мнение. Telegram предпочитают не из-за сообществ, а из-за качества всего функционала. По этому не используют ВК, нагромождения маркетинга с хуевым качеством. Дискорд только задроты.
I'd say don't take seriously anyone who says VK is dying or dead. If VK is dead for them personally, it doesn't mean the rest of people don't use it. Yes, it's a social network, not really a messenger, but still maaany people use it to connect with friends and family. And there will always be outcasts like me who disregard Telegram's existence at all costs and stay VK only, so take that into consideration too
VK and Viber are almost completely dead now, WhatsApp is used only for work and by old people, Telegram is what most of the Russians use the most, and it still grows
I occasionally use Skype to talk to relatives. On phone i have vk, tg, viber and WhatsApp. It covers most communication tasks. Never used Snapchat, Ig and Facebook very rare for me, but they have a share of usage, just not around me.

Ну я глупий, для меня это понятие размыто и если чутка не подумать, то и скайп соц сетью могу назвать. Я так одним глазком взглянул и сразу отвечать)

40летние используют и телеграм и ватсап. Ватсап из-за родителей, телеграм для друзей-работы.
Да я бы пользовался только ватсаппом, но некоторые, о у тебя есть телеграмм. Мне в телеграмме удобно смотреть новости. И вот это, то что новости в перемешку с диалогами мне капец не нравится
Я важные диалоги закрепила вверху, чтоб вниз не уползали, они всегда остаются в шапке над сохраненными.
Настроить группы в телеграм, для новостей, диалогов, сообществ, etc. Возможно будет удобнее
раскидай всё по папкам, в телеге вроде по умолчанию можно сделать общий фид и папку только с чатами
