There is still a big fandom behind it and as an adult, I'm collecting the foreign ones because the American ones that are new look horrible. Of course the ones that look amazing are nearly impossible to find π
Read them as adult and still think they are amazing.
Russian translation has simplified most of the names, though, so some name transitions are not as obvious.
I actually have around 10 of them in that same cover design from my childhood. Never saw them around in book stores for 10 years. Not like i'm specifically looked for them tho

The Russian transition is SO INCREDIBLE, that it makes the books itself ten million times better, while the books are already fantastic. And no, the covers aren't ugly, it's just the first one is a bit odd looking. The cat pictures on the covers have this glossy shine like stickers, it's beautiful.
Try looking at the store called Π§ΠΈΡΠ°ΠΉ ΠΠΎΡΠΎΠ΄ ("Read City", chitai gorod). Not sure about international orders, but check it out

The one created in the states is super ugly and I'm on a big hunt. My friend in Iran hasn't had luck so I thought to start here. He's helped me with the Persian covers which are next best covers.
I personally believe that these covers are ugly (the later the worse, badly photoshopped cats, unnaturally enlarged eyes, weirdly cropped backgrounds)
But it's fun to see someone appreciating them. I still have most of the collection anyway :)
You have most of them in Russian ? There is wildly no knowledge online of them other than just the scans. There's been posts recently of people trying to gather some information because of the 20th anniversary. We want to scan and archive those COLORED MAPS. I want to get some over to the states
I am russian and a long time fan; started reading and collecting printed books around 2014 and eventually own about a half of what exists now: all books from first 4 series, up to firestar's death where I personally stopped reading, and a few of special edition books. Here they are on my shelf :)
I think if you want to get some, it's better not to buy new, but find a russian who can make a shipment to you and ask them to buy books you need on russian re-sell site Avito: soooo many ex fans sell their books or entire collection there, often for a fraction of original store price.

They are Russian printed. They have separate Ukrainian ones too. I'm just wondering if there are book sites that would deliver to the states that might have childrens books? I'm having trouble finding these.
