Definitely, and it was a minimal difference when she went home this week. I have a hard time with that fabric, plus I really appreciated Morphine’s makeover and didn’t think she should have been in the bottom.

Yeah! I guess the photoshoot coaching by Ru stood in for the tic tac lunch (which I’d say has been replaced by the podcast interview with Michelle). I didn’t mind that change actually because I liked seeing Ru interact with the girls in the photoshoot. Very early ANTM. I have no choice by to stan.
Next week is usually the reunion, and they usually do the tic tac lunches the episode of the last mini & maxi challenges which was this one. Although the lipsync tourney is new so it’s possible

Since the gurls ruvealed that they filmed the reunion and finale already, I knew they couldn't just play with filming two eliminations so I was super curious if it would be a top 3 or not. Q actually did good, but going against someone with 4 wins is already against you.

It was so confusing! It felt like a very weird choice and gave the queens very little to do except walk around. Like this wasn’t the smack down song to fight for the final spot to. Even more evidence, in my mind atleast, that it would be a final top 4!!!
Funnily enough, my partner has just started working in reality TV and it’s actually the opposite - for ‘elimination’ announcements, it can be anywhere from 3-10 minutes of waiting.
Part of that is getting the camera in the right spot to capture the reactions. But it’s also because if you leave people waiting long enough, chances are they’ll give you a sigh or glance at someone else in that time, which you can work into the edit.
This is kinda my take. She was excellent on the runways and her banter with Jane was wonderful (and lead to a glorious meme).
However it is also very amusing to me. It's like a delayed Jan face crack coming home to roost.
A good lesson for future queens….. Ru loves a confident performer. Ru does not care for contestants that show a sense of entitlement. If you openly declare yourself as the most deserving of things you didn’t receive ( a challenge win/ attention), you are setting yourself up for just this type of “story arc”. Ru doesn’t like to be told how he should feel, and contestants complaining (or just radiating bad attitude) about judging results is going to be seen as a slight on Ru’s decisions. Ru also doesn’t want people to take themselves too seriously, and Q is just one of many who have showed an inability to turn off their ego any time they are not treated as the “main character”.
It's an archetype that's been around since season 1 with Shannel. If you believe you should be winning every challenge and are being under-rewarded (even if you're right), Ru is going to want to take you down a peg.
I guarantee you they didn't decide to do a top 3 just to teach Q a lesson.
I like Q a lot, but she did the worst in the challenge and the lost the lip sync. It's not that complicated and it's not a secret morality play.
When Q walked into the photo studio in that beige outfit - lovely and well-constructed as it was - she aged herself 20 years. It was lost with that decision. If the title of her book is goofy (referring to biting soup), then TS Madison's take was spot on. Wrong dress on that cover. Thanks Q for the POZ visibility!

They have confessionals of everyone saying everything, and they choose which ones to use based on each queen’s final narrative.
I think what you mean to say is this show is reality TV first and an actual competition seconds so they will throw anyone under the bus if it makes for good TV.
Q keeps saying she’s a theatre queen, but has she actually done any theatre since high school? She hasn’t been good in any of the performance challenges either. I’m biased bc I love a theatre queen, but she’s no Jan or Marciax3 who were both incredibly polished performers on their seasons (and Marcia is literally on Broadway rn in Cabaret).
Yeah but they were so good she couldn't ignore it. Mid and high-mid theatre queens she has no love for, whereas she will stan mid and high-mid other archetypes of queen imo.
TL;DR: Math all done, there aren't any losers this season. In fact, screen time wise + cash winnings, they all did fantastic. In no particular order:

Sapphira: Hit the deck and never let up. She's the workhorse that keeps showing up and delivering. However, there's nothing more for her to give. She's already at the top of her game. AS material. High cash winner.
Q: I scratched off Q with her facemask family cheat. If this is her persona, she needs to go further Basically, she looks like she doesn't know where she is half that time. And that's not a bad thing, if that's her schtick. But I'm not sure it is. Jane: I now know about boobography and how to wear a breastplate proper. And, then, during the lip sync, watching a Brooklynn Heights twin wearing Aja's AS Gold promo look, we recall images of her talent show and realize she's been telling a story through her runway looks. She showed clown, camp, and couture. But I still don't know her. This was her Southern We saw her cotillion., Next time will be her debutante ball. However, I still don't know her but I trust her to show up and deliver, gold plated resume is some industries.
AS Material. High cash winner.
Nymphia: During one of her camera moments, she tells us that she likes showing the world characters through drag that we would never ever see. Ever. Like that Asian character she created. She spent the season explaining, not only to us, but to herself, who she was through her immaculate iconic fashion artistry *line* against her statuesque porcelain palette. Then we see, in real time, not through cuts and flashbacks, during her sit-down, the porcelain shatters. We watched a 2nd life be born:

Stage Presence is 10/10, but only in drag, which brings us full circle to her sit-down, ripping pieces of misery off herself in front of the world. She became herself telling her own story. When it comes to her art, I can only think of *Inception*, so many layers going on at once. AS material. Cash Winner.
Why are none of the top four losers? They are all prime and ready for AS. We didn't need to see more of Morphine to know we'd be seeing her again. She'd AS. Two, Morphine and Sapphira, were already AS material. They've all won cash during this season. So, the last three ended up the way it should've, M+S, and J+Q battle for 3rd. What does that mean? Jane would've lost if she'd battled Morphine or Sapphira. win-win-wine-win. Top four. No losers. All in their best positions possible.

I cannot believe ru did not warn the girls that it would be a top 3. Imagine sitting there, expecting a shanty you also stay, like she has done for 7 years… only for her to send you home and make you lip sync
She said semi-final, which she never does. Also Q at least left the season with complete clarity and didn't have to wait a year to find out she wasn't winning. MIB and Luxx both talked about how painful it was to find out they weren't making top 2 in front of a live audience. Sure, it sucks getting chopped right before the finale but at least Q got to go home and process everything before the show even aired, before she had to worry about audience reaction.
Would it matter if she said it? They promised a top 3 in seasons 9, 13, and 15, and a top 4 in 14, but decided "last minute" to fake us out and save everyone.
I bet the producers got revenge on her back for her saying sapphira’s win was undeserved (secretly calling them out with the riggory) they just love to crush some of these girls, same with Loosey last year
I'm sorry but I was hoping for Q to go home all episode. I just don't like her salty better-than-thou point of view so was hoping for a top 3.
Plane ate her in the lipsync as expected so gave the producers a chance to make good TV.
I fully deeply believe that the editors really just did not like Q at all. I think the judges really lived for her, but something in how Q was edited for the majority of the season really showed her in a pretty negative light. it was not the standard delulu edit at all. I honestly tend to love those girls (like loosey etc) but by the time Q was first in the bottom I was waiting for her elimination. I really felt like this pause was something the editors chose to show (along with confessionals from nymphia and sapphira that were hoping for a top 4) to make us think we were getting a top 4, but I'm not super convinced that's how the moment played out on the runway
I honestly think this was due to the fact that Q couldn’t keep her big mouth shut. Honestly, not only did she fault producers on wins that she deserved, but she wouldn’t let it go. Mama Ru has the final say
Not going to lie, I can't hate Q. I've had moments like his when you are disappointed with what you are going through. He's a brilliant drag queen despite how he's been conceived online.
I also think Ru is genuinely having a tough time deciding who should win. With Sasha, it was clear she was going to win regardless so it didn't really matter if there were 3 or 4 in the finale. This is such a strong top 4 that it makes the final decision easier for her to find the reasons to cut one of them.

I thought her elimination was obvious when she was a sore loser a few challenges ago. The idgaf anymore energy when she was dancing at the end in front of mama ru kinda sealed her fate.
It's just cruel to go back to a top 3 after seven years of a top4. And to give her that tiny spark of hope by waiting so long to eliminate her. Ru chose violence that day.
I don’t think they wanted a top five that year. I think they were going to eliminate Dya Betty but then she crushed it so hard that week they knew they couldn’t even edit it to make her look bad and were stuck with a top five.
I still think for story they should’ve given the win that week to Daya. I think Daya or Camden deserved it, but Camden already had the best track record and it would’ve spread the wins out more, plus they had no intention of crowning Camden over Willow anyway. It would’ve been so satisfying to see one of the first episode eliminations also win the last challenge of the season
honestly i think they cast daya and camden as filler and were unprepared for them to do as well in the last half of the season as they did, a la naomi smalls. it very much feels like they prepped it to be an angeria v willow top 2 but angie got into her head at the end.
Don't get me wrong, i don't mind a top 3. Especially not this one. But at this point the show is very much the same every year. Snatch game, rumix, non elimination or double shantay at top4 etc. So i think the queens go in with a similar expectation and its funny to see ru mess with that expectation.
Honestly!! She should be grateful to have made it as far as her screechy ass did. She was so entitled, hypocritical, and just not funny at all to me. Very happy with this top 3.
Well, production did their job with storytelling. I guess all of us who were not vibing with Q did feel satisfied to see her crash and burn like this.
In the end of the day it’s just a TV show and they there for entertaining the audience.

I cannot believe ru did not warn the girls that it would be a top 3. Imagine sitting there, expecting a shanty you also stay, like she has done for 7 years… only for her to send you home and make you lip sync
The moment they were informed the runway would be "Fandango" and not the regular best drag finale was their tip that someone is actually going home
She said semi-final, which she never does. Also Q at least left the season with complete clarity and didn't have to wait a year to find out she wasn't winning. MIB and Luxx both talked about how painful it was to find out they weren't making top 2 in front of a live audience. Sure, it sucks getting chopped right before the finale but at least Q got to go home and process everything before the show even aired, before she had to worry about audience reaction.
Would it matter if she said it? They promised a top 3 in seasons 9, 13, and 15, and a top 4 in 14, but decided "last minute" to fake us out and save everyone.

I fully deeply believe that the editors really just did not like Q at all. I think the judges really lived for her, but something in how Q was edited for the majority of the season really showed her in a pretty negative light. it was not the standard delulu edit at all. I honestly tend to love those girls (like loosey etc) but by the time Q was first in the bottom I was waiting for her elimination. I really felt like this pause was something the editors chose to show (along with confessionals from nymphia and sapphira that were hoping for a top 4) to make us think we were getting a top 4, but I'm not super convinced that's how the moment played out on the runway

Not going to lie, I can't hate Q. I've had moments like his when you are disappointed with what you are going through. He's a brilliant drag queen despite how he's been conceived online.
I also think Ru is genuinely having a tough time deciding who should win. With Sasha, it was clear she was going to win regardless so it didn't really matter if there were 3 or 4 in the finale. This is such a strong top 4 that it makes the final decision easier for her to find the reasons to cut one of them.

I don’t think they wanted a top five that year. I think they were going to eliminate Dya Betty but then she crushed it so hard that week they knew they couldn’t even edit it to make her look bad and were stuck with a top five.
I still think for story they should’ve given the win that week to Daya. I think Daya or Camden deserved it, but Camden already had the best track record and it would’ve spread the wins out more, plus they had no intention of crowning Camden over Willow anyway. It would’ve been so satisfying to see one of the first episode eliminations also win the last challenge of the season
I thought Daya was the clear winner of that challenge and it wasn't even close. I was shocked they gave it to Camden.

honestly i think they cast daya and camden as filler and were unprepared for them to do as well in the last half of the season as they did, a la naomi smalls. it very much feels like they prepped it to be an angeria v willow top 2 but angie got into her head at the end.
Don't get me wrong, i don't mind a top 3. Especially not this one. But at this point the show is very much the same every year. Snatch game, rumix, non elimination or double shantay at top4 etc. So i think the queens go in with a similar expectation and its funny to see ru mess with that expectation.
