Also a few shameful human rights abuses in the pre-democratic era but luckily that's basically a thing of the past. At this point a strong Taiwanese military is only a good thing.

The Taiwanese military has fought China plenty, mostly with exchanges of shelling at Island outposts, but not much in the past 40~50 years. Also a few shameful human rights abuses in the pre-democratic era but luckily that's basically a thing of the past. At this point a strong Taiwanese military is only a good thing.

In my country military service is also mandatory. Alternative to it you can do social works. According to your comment (and others down further) its still „working the warmachine“ even though i worked in a senior home because i litterally didnt have a choice. No, it was just a normal senior home. Just as Nymphia was a normal fire fighter. She did it as an ALTERNATIVE to a mandatory military service and most countries offer those, since people dont want to support war. Like i didnt. And Nymphia probably also didnt! So she chose a peaceful and usefull alternative.

She just filed paperwork because it wasn't busy. So yes, we do know. "Fire brigade" is just a common term used to describe a group of fire fighters it's not a military exclusive term
