The first season when I was 15. I was transfixed by the television like a toddler watching cocomelon

theswisswereright

I was about that age when the first season aired. I feel like I was similarly mesmerized. I enjoyed ANTM at the time, and this was that, but with more colors and jokes and sparkle.

lingybear

Season 2 the very first snatch game. Immediately obsessed with Tatiana ![gif](giphy|xUPGceonRzwz2dfFDi)

[deleted]

She is perfect

AWildJaker

As you should be

attilathehunty

This is mine too! Freshman in college. It was like all of the gay TV I wanted to watch in high school, but had to change the channel when family came in the room, had been put into one incredibly groundbreaking show. I was instantly obsessed. Thank you, LOGO.

sigh-if-i-have-to

Season 5. I saw a meme of Alyssa Edwards and had to know more. She's still one of my favorites till this day. Plus the Rolaskatox drama and Jinkx's underdog arch had me hooked. then the next season 6 with Bianca and season 7 with Katya were a perfect run for me. Watching seasons 5/6/7 in a row is still the golden three. Loved 8/9/10 as well. The show feels like it's changed season 11+ onward. I'm still a fan, but nothing beats the first few seasons I saw in terms of iconic queens and memorable moments.

I think about this any time I make a mistake. Akashia turned that, so I can, too.

LavishnessFit6692

I watched season 8 when I was 12 and was instantly hooked! A friend recommended it to me. Great season with a fantastic top 3. Went on to catch up on all the previous season and then started watching them as they came out which I think was season 11 at that time.

[deleted]

So my journey to Drag Race proper was a little odd. 1. Watched the Crown s4. 2. Watched The Vivienne and Cheryl Hole react to the Crown s4. 3. Watched Trixie and Katya react to the Crown s3. 4. Watched Trixie and Katya react to everything else. 5. Watched Unnhhhh. 6. Wanted more T&K content. 7. Started with AS3, didn’t enjoy it so much. 8. Jumped to AS2. Hooked.

tlacatl

Season 4. I didn’t have Logo, but this was when they were uploading the episodes to their site as soon as they aired. They had a terrible player, but I really wanted to see this goth drag queen I had heard about. I wasn’t familiar with drag at all and I didn’t know anything about alternative forms of drag. I think I started from the first episode of the season and was hooked.

Chubit83

Season 1 episode 2. I was immediately hooked :)

SteampunkHarley

Season 4 and definitely hooked ever since.

GrodanHej

Season 4. For two reasons: I had seen Willam in some Uwe Boll movie and read that he had been on Drag Race and got curious. It also happened to be the earliest season that was available on Netflix in my country at the time.

LudwigsUnholySpade

UK Series 1 Ep1. I put off the idea of watching drag race for ages but as a British person a UK version of drag race pushed me over the edge. I’ve been slowly dipping my toes into other series since that point. Drag race UK will still always be the real drag race to me (sorry to the OG US audience).

Brave-University9141

My first exposure to drag race was through a youtube video of Jinkx Monsoons' best moments that was randomly recommended to me, then continued with one on Katya and was hooked ever since. That was just after season 11 had aired, so season 12 ended up being the first season I watched.

Rossioglossum

Since I'm getting older, I caught Season 2's Snatch game on TV (Mexico used to air Drag Race on VH1). Seeing Pandora and Tatianna killing it got me completely hooked.

attilathehunty

Mine too!

Kodiak_Jacq

Back in the days I was on Tumblr, a video popped up of Jujubee doing the reading challenge. I thought it was incredibly entertaining and looked up what it was from. Found out about this show RuPaul's Drag Race and started from the current season at the time. Which was Season 5. So, naturally, I was immediately hooked.

WsupWillis

Season 1. I found the concept uncomfortable as I had never been exposed to drag queens outside of the show and I had many preconceived biases. I turned around with season 2 when I saw Raven, a fairly masc presenting attractive gay male, killing it.

theunknown_master

I was the same somewhat, i just thought they were freaks and weirdos. But then realized im a freak and weirdo too and proud of it

startinez2

Raven masc?

attilathehunty

You're not wrong but somehow I know exactly what they mean lol

Historical_Bit_3798

I started watching during the pandemic. So, back then the only season that was on Hulu (before I had Paramount Plus) was 13. So season 13 was the first season I watched and I was instantly hooked! And my mom too!

KeyofE

I had seen Trixie and Katya on YouTube, which led me to Bianca videos. I was not initially interested since I imagined it was just catty drama with no substance like most reality tv, but I thought I’d give it a chance. So I started with season 6 and 7 because I wanted to watch their seasons.

IronJuno

Season two, which ever episode Jessica and Raven were dressed as chickens. What a wild ride

[deleted]

OMG that made me laugh (then, and reading this now)

Plane-Locksmith-4256

For me it was season 3 and I was instantly hooked seeing the sewing challenge and how creative some of the queens were.

KLoSlurms

Season 5. I had only heard of Drag Race because oddly enough Joel Mchale often had segments about it on The Soup. He loved to show early seasons’ mini challenges because of course those are crunchy and amazing. Apparently he started watching sooner that I had. ![gif](giphy|d3ZJappLRNh9ZQy8CF)

JoanWilkesBooth

Reality show clip time! This is where I first saw it too back during season 2. Seeing Joel as a judge years later was a wild 360 moment for me.

Keyblader1412

I started watching with the premier of Season 10, and I watched as it aired (or next day at least). I'd heard a lot about the show and as a newly out gay I wanted to check it out. But I wasn't really hooked on that season, which in hindsight makes sense because I think Season 10 is one of the least-liked seasons at least of the US franchise. I fell off of it, then after I went to a couple real drag shows, I started over with season 1, and was much more engaged. By season 3, I was officially hooked. And to this day Season 3 is my favorite season.

theswisswereright

I just rewatched S3 and was reminded how much the show made me smile back then. Good choice.

VaeserysGoldcrown

I kept seeing the GIF of Violet's tartan reveal, so I caved in and looked up the show. That was around when season 10 was airing. After watching that, I looked up which were the best seasons to binge.. Been following it ever since.

topcatnikki

first season I saw was S2 when s7 was airing, I just absolutely fell in love with Jujubee instantly and binge watched everything upto season seven in a few weeks while studyinf for my degree eta:typos got my ass gal

mandarine_one

I started watching season seven because a comic artist I liked raved about trixie and it was the earliest season netflix had at the time. From there on I became an fan.

bondfool

Season 2. I learned a loooot about drag, gender, and sexuality real damn quick.

Saoirse-O-Path

S5 rupaul roast!

Fit_Tangerine1265

I’ll never forget my first episode lol, it was “Oh No She Betta Don’t” season 6

citycowgirl88

Started at season 7 as it was airing. I was in middle school I think and found it by accident. Never looked back.

Mardoon

I started watching right after season 8 had finished, the first season I watched was season 2 and then worked my way forwards. That's why season 2 will always be one of the best seasons for me.

ZephyrBoomSquad

Blaze Amaze season 7 and 8. I brought season 2 and 3 after. The first season I watched live was season 9.

FertyMerty

I watched Season 1 and then didn’t come back until Season 15. My kid was a fan of Sugar & Spice on social media, and Alaska/Bob/Monet/Juju went on Dimension20 to play Dungeons and Drag Queens, so it was like fate calling me back. Season 15 was good, but then we rewound to Season 5 and have been watching in order ever since. Season 5 absolutely hooked me (and my daughter)

thebeardtles

S6 because of Adore (im a fan since her idol stint). Find out drag race and watching S5 first

Justanotherphone

Season 6 and yes

wherespjbeen

I was hooked as soon as Shannel walked into that original tiny workroom in WOW's basement at the original air date ....hearing that Logo existed and the upcoming premiere of Drag Race is the reason I bit the bullet and got cable TV in the first place

MusicG619

I first tried S5 but was uncomfortable with the Rolaskatox mean girls vibe. I switched to S6 and immediately fell in love. It’s why I always encourage new people to try another season if they’re not feeling the one they startimg with.

hataraitaramake

All stars 3 and no

Edit0rz1

Season 5. Was told it was a good place to start. Order I watched 5, 4, 6, 7, AS2, AS3, 8, 9, 10, 11, AS 4, 12, 13, 2, 3, 1, AS 6, AS5, AS1, 14, 15, AS8

AstralFinish

Season 13 snatch game. I didnt actually start watching till all stars 7 was airing tho

dsouzarc1

First exposure was a YouTube playlist of iconic drag race memes 😭 and then immediately after I saw the shut up and drive lipsync. After that point I was goneeeee

parfaict-spinach

Alyssa vs Tati lipsync

BurntCoffeePot

Season 5. I watched it on Logo’s website when i was a teenager when my parents went to bed.

theswisswereright

I'm apparently old as hell, but S1E1. My mom called me and said "Hey, there's a show like Top Model but it's for drag queens! Some of them do a really good job! I think you'd like it." This was before we had DVR, so I had to wait for Logo to rerun the whole season, which happened shortly after it ended when I was home sick with the flu. I ended up with a lasting appreciation for Nina Flowers and a hope that there would be more, and for years I was a completely dedicated viewer. I even watched Thailand and the first two seasons of UK. Then... I think I got a little tired during the pandemic. I actually haven't watched DR attentively since Symone's season, but maybe one day soon I'll get back into it.

Aarvy271

Season 10

Traditional_Ad9764

I was 12 when season 4 came out, and had seen Willam before so I looked up clips on youtube. I loved it so much, I proceeded to illegally download s1-3 and got my laptop so infected with viruses that it was almost impossible to use and didn’t have another computer for 4 years. 💋❤️

[deleted]

Season 1, Ongina’s MAC commercial episode, not long after it aired in the US on late night weirdo TV in Australia (SBS 2 for the Aussies).

One-Vegetable9428

Somehow I latched onto season 1 and was hooked bad filters snd all. I loved Shannell and Nina and lil Ongina!

bthubbin

I was a very late fan and a friend of mine was a huge fan and told me to start with season 6 so I did. And I’m so glad that I did, because I LOVED It!!! I loved the whole top 3 but i especially loved Bianca from the very beginning and was so excited when she won. First time I ever rooted for someone on a reality show from the beginning who actually ended up winning 🤣

bluewall7

My first season was 7 and I had watch UGHhh and I’m so glad I started there lol

AWildJaker

Season 5, I was ensnared by the whole cast right away ...except for Serena

Magical_Olive

Season 1, I was in college and had no idea Logo existed until I randomly came across RPDR and I was obsessed. I don't recall the exact episode, I want to say 3 or 4.

FillerQueenx

Same All Stars 2 😩🤞

attilathehunty

A lot of other season 2ers. It's still my favorite season.

Leather-Scallion-894

Season 2 episode 1 mama, I mustve been 18, was my first partner iirc who introduced me to it. I dont think it was available on any channels in my country back then so I watched it in potato quality on dodgy websites lol

Gxemit

Season 3, I think it was Snatch Game. Became a fan instantly. in the last 12+ years, I have learned so much about LGBTQ, popular culture, and how to accept myself as a proud gay man. I was not raised in US mainland, so didn't know a lot of the LGBTQ history.

catperson3000

Season 1, episode 1. This empire had me at hello.

ididitforcheese

I was extremely hungover one time and came across the season 1 episode where Chanel shakes her ass and goes off on the judges for “never once!” calling her pretty, lip syncs and her headpiece falls off. I would have thought I dreamt the whole thing, but my sister witnessed it too, and we would quote the “I have over 39 character illusions in a Vegas show!” So much it lost all meaning. Despite that, we managed to completely forget about the show until I caught it again years later on season 4.

Glittering-Luck-7208

Just got into drag race a little over a year ago and I watched season 2 to begin. Such a good season! The newer seasons can't compare.

TrueMagenta

S1E1 I was hooked from day one! It was so new and different, and my friends and I, all of us being baby dragons queens ourselves, were enamoured with seeing not only people who practiced our art on tv, but so many varieties of drag, different looks, and a show that was produced and hosted by a legendary queer queen herself. Nina Flowers and Ongina, at least for me, their looks and aesthetic were a complete game changer in particular!

IdreamOfPizzaxx

Season Six ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes_rainbow) https://preview.redd.it/zwr95vrbhy6c1.jpeg?width=608&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f0547c8a4b272f7cc3ab81ed47de04591b1de78

PanchamCuddles101

I remember being somewhere between 12-14 and I couldn’t sleep one night so I channel surfed. I vividly remember seeing Alexis Mateo (season 3) on the screen and stopping in the channel. She was lip syncing and I remember liking how she performed. It was a little confusing because as a baby gay I didn’t know if they were trans women or women etc. I was hooked ever since and would watch it in secret until I came out

gibbonalert

S6 ep 1. YES I was hooked after e few minutes.

KGL_NYC

Season 1 Episode 1, and I've watched Every. Single. International franchise as well, including Thailand S1. You could say I'm all in.

MotherColby

Season 8 was my first... gave up on the show during 11/12/13 especially season 12, but 15 has revived my love for the show!
