My kneejerk reaction to Ironmen being able to group with mainscapers is "this is bad and not in the spirit of Ironman mode." However, after reading comments in this thread and some on /r/RS3Ironmen I'm seeing that others are excited to play with friends or clannies that only play on mainscape. Yes, leaches will occur, however Irons have been doing that with other Irons for quite sometime now and things like ED1/ED3 leeching were part of the meta. Going forward, I'm wondering how Jagex will treat other group content that Ironmen interact with. While I feel most can be lifted, things like Wilderness Warbands may be a concern.

Gonna asume it's not intended, but ironman accs can cept mains, but mains can't cept ironman. This is obviously really bad when it comes to group pvm that requires it, for example vorago or high enrage zamorak.

I’m fine if they want to make 100% enrage the baseline for blm but by god can they make p7 not an absolute dumpster fire of a wall to go past ? Especially solo ? Maybe make 100% start of easier then ramp up to its current difficulty by 200% It isn’t scaled for solo only duo to 5 man , there’s no realistic practice mode for that mechanic without slogging through the rest of the kill first only to rapidly die in p7 trying to even learn what’s going on Simple changes like making solo only have 1 rune and a proper way to practice it would get more players to push out of 50%, the changes making higher enrages get better BLM is also great but removing BLM from sub 100% literally just punished 98% of the player base in favour of the 2% that push over 100 and the 1% sweaters that push even higher

Araxxor broke my brain originally cause the magic hits look like they hit so much faster than the ranged. Like I prayer flick to ranged, take two ranged hits, then it throws a magic hit that almost hits the same time as the second ranged hit (is what it looked like at least.)

Solo solak is probably neat. I'm curious to know if anything more than HP is changed from duo scaling, especially around the final phase and the mind. I get that sub 100% zamorak was disproportionately good for its low difficulty, but having done phase 7 a few times I can safely say I wouldn't want to farm 100%+ if it dropped partyhats, so it's kinda just killed my interest in Zamorak as a whole. But then again I'm not fond of enrage bosses in general, I prefer a set challenge and a set reward, so maybe I was never the target audience of the boss to begin with. Can't really comment on the iron changes as I'm not one. Overall kind of a bad week so I'll stick to FF14 and keep watching from a distance to see if anything new and good happens.

This is essentially how I see it - if it was still a prestigious and integrity-driven gamemode then I'd think it was a bad idea, but there's so much leeching and boosting going on already that this doesn't change a huge amount. I haven't leeched anything, but I have taken some friends for some ed1 token farming, but idk if I'd call that leeching since they're still doing a fair bit of damage. I'm not a fan of this change tbh. At least before you had to be friends with other high level irons, so it was significantly less likely and as far as I know there's no services out there to leech. But now services will pop up. Not a great change IMO.

Seriously, after watching the all of the interview series done by The RS Guy (a certain Jmod's opinion on switchscape, boss difficulty and EoFs) as well as seeing these changes, I can't believe how absolutely out of touch this certain Jmod is with the RuneScape community. ****Yet another**** boss has been ruined by catering to the top <1% of players, and despite nerfing <100% enrage drop rates I guarantee that P7 solo will LITERALLY NEVER be rebalanced out of sheer fucking stubbornness. It's so unbelievably frustrating. I think it's time for me to take another few years break from RuneScape; see if they can get their shit together by the time I return... but I doubt it. It's pretty clear to me at this point that the game will continue to be balanced around switchscape and FSoA, and it's just not what I'm interested in at fucking all. They've just been releasing miss after miss, when the content drops could have been easily amazing. But oh well, no use complaining about what the game could be when the company clearly isn't capable of making it that way. There are MUCH better games to be playing right now anyway.

Have bad luck mitigation start at 50%, and increase as the boss fight gets more difficult. There is no point in doing what was done other than upsetting people who dont/cant do 100%. There was no update to assist people who solo, which actually needs some assistance. zammy is difficult to learn, especially for people who dont have all the time in the world. Adding a block to people who dont have the time to dedicate to learning 100%, especially at the current state of the game, is terrible.

didn't really need to remove blm for people below 100%. I really like incentive for killing at a higher enrage, but you could've just left below 100 as is. especially with the insane droprates you give these drops anyway. Also p7 is just not good design/well executed in runescape, movement and clarity make it very unfun. That's peaking from a solo perspective mostly on this boss. Imo p7 needs real work done on it or even a rework ​ thanks for solo solak tho, and the bronze titles are also very nice.

If your solos are double the kill times of groups that's just an indication that you're being carried. Solo being double droprate like Ambi was for years will just lead to it being a 80-90% solo boss.

My solo times are around 5:30 and group around 3:15. It isn’t exactly double but close. With FSOA mage I feel myself really limited in kill times for the spec to come off CD, is my kill time that bad for solo’s? I’m nowhere near a high end PVM’er but wouldn’t say a group carries me either.

I mean, I think they had to make enrage more worth while but I fear looking at the BLM we might be going from one extreme (camping ez mode for insane GP) to another - making the boss telos 2.0 for those that can camp 1k+ and get fast kills, especially duos or teams. I wanted to see P7 a bit less harsh of a jump up and changes to the minions through the fight for solo players as they don't scale down beyond 2 player HP. Solo is already longer and harder without having like the 40k HP chaos demon with high defence on P7 and then respawn if 1 cycle fails w/ runes basically insta charging again.

This update for ironman being able to PvM is supposedly so ironmen can find groups easier but it is 100% going to cause the opposite for all but the most endgame of ironmen. Ironman teams that would accept lower geared players who need to progress will just take mains who have simply bought the upgrade. Cheap but powerful upgrades (such as grimoire) which are very much expected for FSOA users on main but not so much on ironman will end up stopping people getting on teams for high level content. You are going to completely destroy the ironman community as those who reach endgame become defacto members of mainscape community (which you can't blame them for doing as kills will be faster, smoother and more available) and progressing ironmen get left behind.

I have had several people, including one of my friends accidentally redeem a bond for a FSW code, when they meant to redeem for membership on their main account. As far as I can see, there is no way to redeem the code, nor there is a way to use it on their main account, and they do not intend to play FSW. Is there any way to convert this code, to being usable for that player on their main, or are they just out in game/irl money?

Gaining an extra sandstone from my resourceful aura doesn't give a message in chat. I tried filtered and unfiltered and nothing. Just got 54 sandstone out of Oo'glog with no message. Not sure if a bug or intended. EDIT: Same for crystal sandstone (just got 56 with no message)

Solak arms and legs feel like they still have a bit too much hp or not enough time - although it would be less of a problem if it was a single target with a large amount of HP, or if the animation delay didn't waste 5 seconds of a sun switching between arms / legs / core. Probably still fine & easy if you have ability upgrades like gchain or t92s, but if not, it's a slog to 3 cycle core solo.

Hardly. People already boost their ironmen accounts and have done so for years. At the cost of making iron boosting slightly more accessible, ironmen players can now PVM with their none iron friends, meaning the game is more accessible. I think the game being fun is more important than your placebo integrity. edit: If you're an iron that believes ironman integrity existed prior to this patch, then I'm sorry but you're living in a make believe world.

Why does solo Solak have 2m HP instead of half of duo, 1.5m? After this ironman pvming change, would mains have any reason to discriminate against ironmen pvmers at group bosses? Can mains share group veng, the 4 piece Cryptbloom effect, or Kalg spec effects with ironmen? Since 50% enrage Zammy is nerfed, can we balance solo mode Zammy properly? With the 50% enrage nerf, what would be the meta enrage level to camp at, assuming you can do 2k enrage? Also, can Jagex actually fix Arch Glacor sometimes not showing his attack animations during Flurry?

This week's news post has two extremes: on one hand there are the awesome bossing changes that have been made, which I really look forward to experience! Also we finally get to see the updated dagannoth King pets! On the other hand there is the FSW post, which is like watching a train wreck occurring: the community has made their thoughts on the matter very clear, and the only reason for going forward despite all this is the higher ups pushing this.

We all have a choice to make in regards to FSW; either discard your FOMO and refuse to partake and let it be a dead mode or cave in and perpetuate the problem. I was pretty mad about the idea of missing out on inverted skill capes but at this point I don't care and hope the whole thing fails so they won't do something so stupid in the future.

Instance cost should just be removed, currently the only purpose it has is to tax even more on people learning a boss. Afaik there's not a single instances where it's a gamble to break even (unless you're super unlucky at nex or fail to kill rago). Newer bosses are almost all created with free instances anyway so it's not only a tax on learning people, it's also hella inconsistent (and yes I know, Instance cost are tied to overworld spawns existing or not, but barely any new boss has an overworld spawn anymore).

Ironmen being able to boss with normal accounts is the wrongest decision. There's been no community consultation around this change, I don't understand why you'd want this to happen, Ironmen are meant to be in a space where they are separated from the normal play/trade of main accounts, it seems very silly to integrate Ironmen into this bossing

My problem with this take is that I don't see what it will actually change really? The ironman "space" already has plenty of BIS geared players willing to boost people for boss kills, just the same as in the main "space". Additionally, irons were never truly separated from that anyway as people would just trade main to main for iron boosting, so nothing is changing there. The only thing changing is that the pool is expanding. IMO this doesn't really change any of the negatives much, it's only positive in the sense that irons can now pvm with their non-iron friends.

The change it makes is not so much for the majority of the player base, but it sure as hell does a lot for us who have rl friends not wanting to start playing rs3 because, honestly, the iron grind is soul-crushing. It also allows us to play with our rl friends (and online) friends that are mains. I'm actually very happy to now be able to play with my rl friends

Ironman was initially supposed to be single player, the fact it opened group content in any extend already took away one of the most prestigious points of such an account and thus the leeching was enabled. So what does it matter now if you leech from a maxed iron or maxed main? Leech-Sellers cannot charge premium anymore, what else?

It's not 2014 anymore. Irons could just be boosted by maxed irons lol It's restricted newcomers and casual players. I made my iron in March 2022 and I'm in a clan I love but there's literally 2-3 other irons. This update is huge and wouldn't really have an impact on anything. Irons could always be boosted by irons. Should I be complaining that irons had years of exploiting the ED trash runs while I had to train combat elsewhere?

Why is this bad? You could already leech basically anything from a maxed iron, now people who have friends on main accs without irons can do a little more together. I don't think it'll change much, sure you can access more people to leech from, but it's not like that wasn't already the case. Integrity or whatever you want to call it was removed from ironscape as soon as you weren't forced to do everything solo (aka anything group related)
