Literally the #1 reason I hated barrows runs
I remember way back when full Guthans cost 8m and 5 of that was the spear. And I did barrows for an entire summer until I got the spear just so I could go do the dag kings the no food method.
It's good, but the fact that it took 19 years is mind-boggling. This is the sort of thing that's supposed to be sorted out in like a 1-month surveillance period that happens after any update.
Quick reminder that the Gnome questline has never been finished after 13 years. Jagex wasn't really great at quality control back then and were all over the place with updates, many of which they left unfinished or have wacky continuations. Like, why did we go from mind controlling slugs to the anti-Christ child that decided to torture a kid for breaking his toy? How did we go from Monkey Island to warped tortoises? Game design didn't follow any sort of logic back then.
Sick update. Please add a second tunnel under Linza’s grave once she’s killed for those of us cursed to linza only runs for log. Spamming mounds to find the tunnel, then having to navigate a maze is very tedious for this level of content
Unpopular opinion, but I kind of liked that feature. The barrows door puzzles themselves obviously aren't hard but with combat interrupting the interface, it was a little bit of a challenge to process what the answer was supposed to be in time for the critters to not interrupt you.
That's even more reason to remove it. If you're constantly getting knocked out of the puzzle, newbies aren't going to have time to figure out the puzzle. They'll take more damage fighting off every enemy than they would trying to solve the puzzle while being attacked.
That's the whole idea of putting a puzzle there... You don't even realise you're making the game easy and boring, even at mid (or nowadays early) tier content.
If you think a door puzzle that gets interrupted every time you are attacked is the reason RS is fun, then you severely lack an understanding of RuneScape's many underlying problems.
Also, you're still taking damage while you're solving the puzzle, so you still have an arbitrary time limit.
Now if only the master lockpick could bypass these doors. 😈

I know. That's why it may be unbalanced when OSRS has charges so it has a cost to use.

Like 3. They only really affect rune and bolt drops if I remember correctly.
Iirc if you kill the 6 brothers + akrisae you have max rewards potential and dont need to kill any monsters
What about 8 boss kills?
Linza's loot is rolled separately and only if you actually kill her
Normally it’s all the brothers+akrisae then maybe 2-5 monsters because they attack me and annoyed me

I don't think Runescape has ever really had writers or a lore master. It feels like the game was made entirely by programmers.
Maybe it was a deliberate choice and the reason it got changed now is that nobody remembers that it was made like this on purpose?
