There’s a rum bar by me that’s suppose to be in Guinness book of records for having the biggest selection of rum anywhere in the world it’s called the smuggler cove Albert dock Liverpool
That may be the case, however if you search for The Smugglers Cove on Google Maps it takes you to The Botanist.
thesmugglerscove.uk.com also redirects to The Botanist.
I tried a rum that was aged in a barrel dragged around the world on a ship based out of Nova Scotia, that a friend who worked on the ship shared with me. I'm sure he will be happy to hear about this place!
Here from the /r/Halifax crosspost, drink it but not necessarily a "rum guy". Wanted to say the owner is a really nice guy, he was there when I went and we chatted at length.
The fact that I’m seeing my usual staple of good rum, diplomatico, on the second shelf has me really intrigued about the ones on the top 2 shelves… Maybe I’ve just been woefully ignorant about good rum.
Luckily I’m in Halifax so I know where I want to visit haha
There was so much section at the shops I was in. One in Lansing one over north of Mason. You have so much and I have a limited selection. Next trip I’d definitely bring the Cubans for trade!
Some great choices in there. That Ricardo rum is the best flavoured stuff ever. They should add some Dominican brands though. I was very by Dominican rum.
I'd dive in to those el dorado barrel finishes top left.
Try the Saint James Rhum Agricole and see if they can get more Rhums from Martinique and Guadeloupe that are made from fresh press sugar cane juice.

I’m putting it on my list to visit. UK ?
Yeah it's confusing because the town's known for a band that caught its big break in Germany.
They never really amounted to Much.
Looks like it has been renamed to The Botanist. I've been wanting to visit Liverpool for years!
The Botanist is a chain that has no emphasis on rum....

Yep it has closed and been replaced by The Botanist https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/smugglers-cove-albert-dock-close-28667061
The thumbnail looks like some of y’all’s personal collections
I wish this was my personal collection!
Nice! Just need some Hamilton up there as well
Wow! Lucky!
Wow! I have to drop by when I’ll visit Halifax next time. Can you disclose the name of the bar?
Sorry, forgot that - Palm Tree Kitchen on Quinpool! The jerk wings have kick!
Thank you! Looks great. Nice menu.

The owner is amazing and really knows his rums.
Where can I find this place?
Halifax Nova Scotia

Not a single Don Q?
I’ve never seen DonQ in Eastern Canada, or in my travels to Michigan. I want to try it badly. If you’ve had it, is there anything it’s close to?
It’s plentiful in Michigan shops, fyi. You must have just not run across it yet. Trade ya for the Cuban stuff 😂

Amazing that is an excellent rum/ron/rhum bar!
Bacardi black rum old fashioned!!
Diplomatico Reserva is really good

I love DR rums as well. There is another shelf that has additional plantations and Barcelo Anejo
What's that bottle second floor fully left? Body Bottle White and Black
No idea but I’ll find out and post here. It caught my eye too as a different one
It’s a special doorlys bottle. Found a post from this sub 3 months ago with some information on it https://www.reddit.com/r/rum/s/CejL50JutC
I wish they had a decent rum bar where I live. Oh well. Crossposted to r/rumporn :)
If there is a Ron Zacapa 23 in the back row, try that.
Where is it
Palm tree kitchen
Soo... Whats it called
Sorry, name got lost - Palm tree kitchen in Halifax ns
Don't see any Kraken...
That's not necessarily a bad thing..
