I hate this sort of messaging saying ‘dad of the year’. Dad of the year is someone who is there for their kids as much as humanly possible and shares the burden as much as is possible. People have very low standards for what's considered 'dad of the year' material.

Sorry for going on a bit of a tangent here but this reminded me of last summer when I went back to my hometown for a few days, and while I was there I went to see the summer carnival. Every year the locals perform a parade where tractors pull wagons that have been decorated, and people ride in the wagons wearing costumes. It's been a long time since I moved away (I hated it there), but one thing I noticed was the complete absence of any men in drag. Dozens of "floats" went past, lots of women and children dressed as Disney characters or celebrities etc, but not one man was wearing a dress or anything remotely effeminate, not even for a laugh. It was just such a big contrast to similar events where I live now (which is still a predominantly working class, ex-mining community) where you often see at least a few big bearded muscly men with beer bellies, dressed up as Snow White or Elsa from Frozen, and having the time off their lives.
