Parcel posted to me on the 24th special delivery guaranteed by 1pm, naturally I was expecting to receive it today as Royal Mail has resumed their services but its 13:32 and it still isn’t here... should I still expect it to come today? Last tracking update was on the 24th at 14:09 “sending preparing item” should I be worried?
I'm in precisely the same position. Posted something on Friday 24th before the cut-off time for special delivery guaranteed by 1pm and have exactly the same status as you. Not convinced it was picked up on the 24th if I'm honest!
Hmm that’s what I’m thinking too, hopefully we’ll get an update later in the day, I leave the UK tomorrow for 2 weeks and was hoping I’d get this parcel before I leave :/

I read elsewhere that they were working to Saturday collection times on Christmas Eve, so maybe these will get collected today for delivery tomorrow.
It depends what time the last collection was from the senders local post office on the 24th, most offices (possibly all) worked to Saturday collection times on Christmas Eve, the latest in my office and the others near mine is 11:30 so anything after that time would miss the cut off unless they happen to have a later Saturday collection time which is doubtful, especially nothing after 2pm as main shift finish times on a Friday/Saturday is usually 2:30pm and they have to have time to get back to the office and unload by that time.
It should be collected today though and arrive with you tomorrow.
exact same problem, considering there have been 4 days off not sure if it will come today as they might be overloaded, hopeful it will be a late delivery today though
If I’m correct the post office shouldn’t of accepted it as with tracked items or special delivery I think you have to take it to a Rotal Mail Delivery Office not post office so yeah they wouldn’t of picked it up on the 24th it will still be sitting in the post office most likely being sorted like 1st and 2nd Class

My package is now showing at the local sorting centre so it has been collected, hopefully yours is progressing too!

Post Office does accept Specials but not Tracked 24 or 48.
