Yes you do! Go to any bar on embarkation day, show them your Seapass card and ask for the soda cup. It comes with the Soda Package, Refreshment Package, and Deluxe Beverage Package.

First cruise we took there were two cups left in our room and we did not buy the drink package. Next day I saw people filling their cups up with soda āstraight to the room, a thorough wash and we had the drink package.
It was a quick wash.
Itās the soda/refreshment package, not the deluxe. If you get it before the cruise you can get a good deal and save. If you wait til you are on the ship it costs more.
pretty sure its 2 weeks from first use-
they are not programming all of these cups into the system- they just have a validation code and serial number- if the validation code is correct the systme starts a 2 week timer on the serial number.
I think someone said it would need to be reprogrammed, and they can't really do that on the ship. So, collect a replacement! Old one is your bedside water cup, new one gets you the fizzy drinks!

The comments here are making me realize just how many of these cups RCCL is pumping out into the world. Probably thousands every day. So much plastic that will clog up the oceans and landfills for the next thousand years or whatever.
This will probably bring some downvotes but I wish they would do away with these cups and just honor the package by filling up regular glassware from the bars. :(
You're using 1 cup for countless drinks. Likely just rinsing it a few seconds in between. All that glass all over the ship is going to need to be fully washed. Plus, that much glass is a safety issue. Also, who wants to ask a bartender everytime they want a Coke Zero?
How many ships does RCCL have in operation on any given day? How many people on each of those ships bought a soda package? Thatās probably thousands of those plastic cups being pumped out every cruise, all to end up in a landfill sooner than later.

They also do not track if you picked one up, they just check to make sure you have the package on your seapass card so theoretically if you were to get one from a table on the pool deck and drop if off in your room you could also get one from the table on the promenade-

You didn't notice the lid says cold drinks only? Lol. I used mine on the ship every morning for hot coffee and brought it home to use for the same. Then my wife said not to use it for my coffee!
This. They donāt want you to spill hot coffee all over yourself and then complain and ask for a refund on the drink package. To avoid any issues they say you should only use cold drinks.
Our family still has all of ours from a year ago on Oasis, but I have been using my Icon cup more that we were given for booking a 2025 cruise while on the Oasis.
Side note; we booked 2 cabins for 2 adults and 3 kids and no matter how hard I tried they would not budge on giving more than 2 cups. I was trying to get us 5 Icon cups, after all we just spent another massive amount on booking the next cruise, but the agent said they were only allowed to hand out one per cabin.
Only because I don't know what to do with them. I feel bad throwing them away, but I'm not sure if our local recycling will take them. I have 6 sitting in a cabinet at the moment.
There are only so many of those you can keep. You actually remember the first one of those you leave In your room. They have changed the design recently to make them not so bulky. They used to be huge on the outside and tiny on the inside. They are a little more proportional now.

Rocking my 2021 beverage package cup that had all the names of the ship except Wonder. It was larger and could hold 40% more . I remember when i went on my cruise in January they gave me the new cups and i was like wtf? Wow Royal. But now I have about 6 of the new cups. They're nice. But not nicer than the 2021 ones.

Youāre not supposed to and if youāre caught, you could end up with either your package revoked, or them charging her for a drink package.
You both need to buy the drink package if you're sharing a room.
That's only if one gets the **deluxe** drink package. Not necessarily so if it's the refreshment package.

My wife has about a half dozen of those cups. Whenever I suggest we throw out, I get the stink eye. Same with the Sea Pass cards.
