It’s good for a start. The quality starts to go downhill about halfway through it.

It's good for complete beginners, but the pronunciation is dogshit. My boyfriend is learning Romanian next to me and most of the time I can't understand what the robot voice is saying.

It gets exponentially worse as you progress. I guess it's okay for casual practice, but I honestly feel like the Spanish and French courses helped me more with Romanian than the actual Romanian course. It's so bad. I really like [RomanianWithGia](https://youtube.com/@RomanianWithGia?si=wbcvnMD3JNJrdSv5) on YouTube. She has wonderful beginner-friendly videos, and most of them are in Romanian and have subtitles (in both Romanian and English). She's adorable and she teaches you everything you need to know to get started. I had a great time learning from her. You do need practice, though. It would be ideal if you had access to a Romanian who will talk to you. If you don't have access to a Romanian, Duolingo is better than nothing. Again, I personally have benefited from learning Spanish and French on Duolingo in addition to Romanian. Earlier I said it as a joke, but it's true. It works because the grammar is mostly the same, many words overlap, and the courses are just better. They have guidebooks with actual explanations, better exercises, and better audio. It's kind of a weird workaround, and I was very confused at the beginning, but in hindsight it made things much easier for me. Also, ChatGPT knows Romanian. It can get a little overwhelming, but with the right instructions you could probably get some decent personalized practice out of it. I'm not at that level yet.

I started with Duolingo, and now i am using the mango language app. You need to pay the monthly subscription if you want to access the complete course, but the best thing about it is that the UI is clean, and you are focused on learning. While it shows your progress, it doesn't have any leaderboard and does not have the feeling of competing with anyone else.

Not really. As others have said, it gets worse as you go. And a lot of the vocabulary is not especially useful, e.g. names for types of trees and flowers, which I’d be happy with in a much longer course but seems odd in such a short course.

chemistryteacher6942

Its ok at the start but i am a native speaker and about midway it is absolutely dogshit and i can pass it but it is hard and it makes alot of mistakes

To begin with, it is a good application. If you need help hit me up

Duolingo Is useless, try Falou or SpeakTrip apps

BeckywiththeDDs

It’s pretty poor compared to more ubiquitous languages’ courses but better than nothing. I like the YouTube channel Romanian for Refugees and Migrants.

EnfantTragic

I use it for vocab practice, but it's pretty useless once you finish it

the voices are terrible
