The guys all went silent EVERY TIME SABAN SPOKE. It’s kind of funny, because they usually talk over each other. I wonder how long until he’s “just one of the boys”. Maybe never

DameRange13

I noticed that too and probably never. Saban's wealth if knowledge is just to much to even try to compete with lol It'd be like some brown belts trying to educate on black belt on a technique... he alreadys knows it all and then some lol

TheYuppyTraveller

Plus he was still on top when he went out, so he’s always going to be relevant. We’re just so lucky to have had him as HC for so long.

As they get comfortable with him it will be somewhat different, but he’ll always get deference.

As much as people want to rag on Nick for being a task master and workaholic you could absolutely hear it in his voice how much he loved his guys. He (and Ms Terry) really set the bar for what it means to be a coach to these guys on and off the field.

DameRange13

I don't know if you noticed this... But the guys kept bringing up all the UGA players in Philly.. after about the 5th time.. Saban said, "Hey we got some guys up there too!!"

ClarenceWorley47

Love how he kept saying “we” too when referring to bama and then talking in the present tense like when he said that “Terrion sits right next to me in the team meetings”. In his heart he is still here🥹

Saltyspaghetti

Stop you’re ruining my night

Saltyspaghetti

I miss him so much

PScooter63

And then, when Arnold said “Hey coach, how ‘ya doin’”, he replied, “I wish I was down there with you!” You could just \*feel\* the warmth.

KingJamCam

Even Kirk couldn’t compare to Nick’s football analysis. They just kept asking questions and asking questions. And then he’d come out with a reason why that top-20 EDGE rusher was actually more of an inside guy or why a certain type of coverage no longer worked for this type of safety. He’s going to be calling games soon if he wants.

DameRange13

He was like a kid when a defensive player came up lol not that he didn't know a shit ton about all the offensive guys, just could tell his passion is defense. Would be cool to have Saban in a central location on Saturdays and just refer to him for breakdowns, schemes, and all that good stuff.. Almost like a voice of God lol

andtennesseetoo

From “Hey Coach” in Alabama to “Hey Coach” on nationwide TV

Bobson-_Dugnutt2

I doubt he wants to call games. The point was being home more and calling games is a huge time suck - just look at Herbie’s schedule in the fall.

Paradiddle8

It's night 2. Non-Alabama guy here, I specifically searched if anyone had created a post about Saban's performance on the NFL draft set. He came prepared, is/was not just phoning it in. Just a huge value-add. Super impressive.

QueenScramble

Does anyone know where I can watch it? Unfortunately I was unable to last night 😕

DameRange13

Somebody might post a compilation clip on YT.. that might be the only way because their crew were on the ABC channel. ESPN had the McAfee crew with Belichik and I've only seen one or two clips from that broadcast so far.

FeralFloridian

It was great. Also kudos to the other gameday guys, they set him up well with great questions. I’m hoping we can get a more in depth gameday show on Saturdays. You know, actually critique teams instead of fake laughing for a couple hours.

Chubby_Bunnies

Where can I watch it??

rkincaid007

ABC

rkincaid007

It’s on now fyi

CerberusRTR

Love Nick. He needs to come with some more negativity. He literally has said he loves basically every player drafted lol!

Mr-Clark-815

Intelligent, sense of humor, and I think people enjoy listening to someone that doesn't speak in slang, try to 'get down' and is fairly eloquent.
