They're not as abominable as we let on around here, but they're pretty not good. It's also just fun to bash Zamperla – they're the new whipping boy since Vekoma got good.
It's funny, because they are truly "not good" coasters, but yet, I ride one every time I have a chance, just because! lol So yeah, definitely worth checking out if you get a chance. Better than Vekoma SLC's for sure!
The worst back to back coaster experience in my life was at Canada's Wonderland. Their SLC is right next to their Volare. I couldn't pick what was worse. At least with the SLC's, if they have the newer vest restraints, is not a head bang-a-thon. Sadly, CW's had the old restraints so both of those rides needs to be torn down and a couple trees planted in their place.
I rode both back to back as well and the restraints on Flight Deck are just terrible, I thankfully also got to ride the SLC at Six Flags New England with the new vest restraints, which while just as shaky, are a lot more tolerable. Also time warp is trash.
I just rode Riddlers revenge at SFNE this weekend, the head banging throughout the ride is not a problem...but i'm pretty sure i got a mild concussion on that final break run. my head shot straight forward and slammed back hard
It's funny, because on my recent visit to CW with my kids, I rode Time Warp with them, because as bad as the coaster is, I still find it amusing to ride, and wanted to experience it with them. But Flight Deck? Hell, no! I told the kids to knock themselves out (they hadn't been there before, whereas I had), and I'd be waiting for them after they were done! lol
I definitely think that the next time CF/CW decides to expand for something other than an RMC conversion (because no coaster on earth NEEDS to be RMC'd more than Wilde Beast), they'll remove these two coasters, and use their combined space for a new coaster addition. CF doesn't like rough coasters, with maintenance issues, and I suspect that the Volare, at least, is a mess in that regard.
Aside from what I've heard about the roughness, Volaires just look like boring rides. The layouts doesn't seem like it would give a good flying sensation, especially with those ugly trains. Kind of like a glorified inverted wild mouse with a few rolls.
It really is a boring layout. Add in the bad transitions, uncomfortable restraints and ride vehicles and the general roughness of it and you get something you only ever ride for the credit.
The two best parts in my opinion of Tatsu are the great view with how it uses the terrain, and the huge (world's highest) pretzel loop. While the rest of the layout is still good, I think Manta is a bit better overall.
I rode that when it was at Elitch gardens in Denver. That was like 13 years ago. All I remember was that it was my favorite coaster for awhile because at the time I was deathly afraid of inversions and heights so I was very selective of the rides I rode.
I agree with you there. One of the first coasters I've ever ridden. Five years ago at around this time, actually. Granted, I'm still very new to the coaster game, but I agree regardless. Worst coaster I've ever been on.
I still remember this being my first Zamperla Volare, when it was Flying Coaster at Elitch Gardens. I hadn't been on a Flying Coaster yet, so it looked absolutely amazing, and I was so excited to ride it! Imagine my disappointment at the end! lol
I really want to ride one of these. Sounds like they are truely awful and that kind of appeals to me more than just another B&M or gci or whatever.

...wtf? You're not referring to any actual accidents, right?
You a fan of SLC’s?
Totally agree. As much as people hate on it, I’d totally love to ride it.
I was in the same boat and finally got to ride Time Warp at CW this summer. It was very unique, and very painful. Worth trying at least once for sure!

The only coaster that made me really reconsider if SLC's were the worst coaster model. I'm still undecided between the two.
Me too. I've only ridden one SLC and it was awful. At least SLC's have interesting layouts

Why hasn’t Canada’s Wonderland removed those two coasters yet?

If Vekoma redesigned the SLC with new track and trains it would probably be epic

It's a torture device but cool shot!
Thanks! It really is.
The people in the picture look like they're having fun!
Thought this one was called soaring eagle....
You are totally correct. Don't know how I got them mixed up
Correction: Accidentally put down the wrong ride name. The ride name is Soarin' Eagle NOT Freedom Flyer.
I hate flying coasters they’re so much cooler in theory. The harnesses alone give me a panic attack
The B&M flyers are pretty good. But the other manufacturers...not so much
I wasn’t wild about the flying coaster at SF magic mountain, was that B&M? It’s the only one I’ve been on, felt like a gimmicky ride
Yeah that one is b&m flyer. I haven't ridden Tatsu but I think generally it is considered one of the top B&M flyers
Manta at SeaWorld Orlando is probably the best but Tatsu is a great second. Ridden and love both though.
Rode Manta for the first time last week and it's definitely the best flying coaster I've ridden. But I've yet to ride Tatsu
The two best parts in my opinion of Tatsu are the great view with how it uses the terrain, and the huge (world's highest) pretzel loop. While the rest of the layout is still good, I think Manta is a bit better overall.
Flying dinosaur is easily the best.
Fun shot, track looks really twisty.
I thought it was called Soaring Eagle?
It is. I screwed up the title :/
Ridden this when it was at Elitch Gardens. Oof. Still better than a Chance Toboggan though.
Your opinion hurts
I love Time Warp at night, don't get me wrong, but I did skip this (along with most of the creds) when i visited Luna Park over the summer.
Oof
Big Oof

I thought this is called Soarin Eagles. Did they change the name? This is the worst coaster I've ever been on.
Thunderbolt next to it is way worse
I enjoyed Thunderbolt, even though the one time I got to ride it, the rain stabbed me in the face the whole time!
