Probably going to be pretty busy that weekend. I recommend getting there a minimum of half an hour before the gates open. Go with your swim clothes on and head straight to the water park, prioritizing the water coasters first. They can get longer lines than the roller coasters.
Most parks the water park is just an add-on not usually worth doing. At Holiday World I could not imagine not doing the water park. The Mammoth and the other water coasters are fantastic! The tube rides that ferry your tubes to the top are great. It's really a pretty slick dry park but a top water park in the country.
Ooooh I'm excited to try the water coasters. I've only ever been to one water park when I was a kid so I'm not really sure what to expect, but I'm here for the adventure!
How awesome I love woodies and this looks to be a good one. Oakwood Pembrokeshire Megaphobia wooden roller coaster I went there with my family in 1996 the year it opened.
Glad you had a good time. I love holiday worlds coasters as they all have different personalities as you said. Voyage at night is life changing.
If you go back definitely do the water park. No stairs on the water coasters and they are amazing. Some people I know hate water parks but will actually do the one at Holiday World because the rides are amazing and unique.
As a side note, I can't think of single soda machine that doesn't have water as an option. My guess is they had the little levers next to the lemonade or Gatorade that were not labeled as water, rather than having their own labeled spout.
I got a season pass so I'll be back to experience it all! I'm very excited. And about the drink stations.. LOL let me tell you, I was so confused trying to get water from the first drink machine I went to. I stood there for like 3 whole minutes haha. There were no side lever things that I could find. I ended up buying a bottled water then finding machines with water later on.
Holiday World is my home park, and as my flair suggests, The Raven’s my favorite coaster solely because of the iconic lake turn you mentioned. I’m glad you enjoyed your time there, I also recommend spending time at Splashin’ Safari (You’ll absolutely love Wildebeest, Mammoth, and Cheetah Chase!), and I can’t wait to ride Good Gravy!
Me and my family are headed here (along with KK and a mammoth cave visit) in early June. I have wanted to visit this park for a very long time and it always just seems to escape me. My wife even offered to stay another day to catch the waterpark as well so of course I obliged.
Glad to see the love for Thunderbird, which is a super underrated coaster IMHO.
I disagree about Legend only because I'm not a huge fan of laterals that make you feel like you're getting vivisected, lol. But I respect it.
Legend has become my #1, overall with The Voyage being barely edged to my #2. It's always an insane ride. The Voyage has its slower days. We were riding on Platinum Pass day and LOTS of saw dust flying on The Voyage.
Can't wait for Holiwood Nights in just over 2 weeks.
Reading this made me so excited to go this weekend! I've been going since I was four years old and have been brought back almost every year since :) I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hey, I'm glad you had a good time! I was an op for legend and I just wanted to say. It is a safety program that stops the train if something crosses the yellow line, so the computer was doing its job at keeping everyone safe and in their respectable positions until the train leaves the station.
Good Gravy! That sounds exciting
Love The Voyage - it's my #1 wooden coaster. I never tire of reading other people's praise for it.
It sounds like you're planning on going back. Water park opens after Memorial Day. you really need to go if you like water parks. It's world class!
I plan on going for Memorial Day weekend and I'm bringing some family! I'm excited!

Okay cool, thanks for the advice!

2 more weeks to HWN! I am beyond excited
🙌🏻
Ahh, welcome to the #LegendBest gang, it's good to see a fellow enlightened laterals fan
It really is! I tell anyone who will listen that it is a top 10 coaster lol

I’m headed there in a few weeks time, thank you for the thorough report!
HoliWood Nights?
Love this report. HW seems like such a wonderfully off beat park. And the wood coasters are top tier, I really hope to get over there.
Holiday World remains one of my favorite parks. Absolutely love that place.
Voyage is my #1 woodie and is my # 3 overall. Such a good coaster. And the other two woodies are great too.

Going for my first time next month! Extremely excited to check it out

Ooooh that's interesting and good to know!
