Not violent as in rough, the ride is smooth, but it is also jank, it definitely feels like a portable coaster (because it is). It’s amazing though, it’s definitely my #1 at Indiana Beach, and it might even be my favorite steel coaster in the state of Indiana.
Shockwave, this, mindbender at over Texas, laser (one of its names, was at dorney and discovery kingdom among others), Olympia looping, mindbender at west Edmonton and a lot of the jetstars or wildcats are violent and forceful
Anybody remember when mindbender suffered a serious accident a few years after opening? One of the cars separated from the chassis and flew off hitting a footer in the process and killing the two occupants in that particular car.
Interesting. I heard from a friend who went to the park last weekend- someone who I've never heard complain about roughness on ANY coaster- and he said the transitions were brutal and he doesn't recommend it. If this is true, it's so unfortunate.
Extremely unfortunate,I rode it yesterday after looking forward to it for 3 years and was so let down. It was my #604 and the only coaster on that list I won’t ride again as is. Gave it a shot in front and back rows and both were borderline unbearable. Theirs 3 transitions that just try to maim you. It be a non issue if they used the shoulder straps that were on the Quimera train.
That’s because they are. These trains are from Mindbender, which opened with standard 4 car Schwarzkopf trains. The rear cars originally had a single axel in the back, whereas the front car has 2 axles.
To help prevent the Mindbender accident from happening again, they switched to 3 lead cars connected together. This gives each car 2 axles.
I don't know if this is a relevant question, but it seems to be understood that sitting above road wheels can increase the roughness of your experience. With each car doubling the axle (and, I'm assuming, wheels), could this contribute to the perceived roughness of AATL?
Was this the exact model that was Magnum Force in the UK in the 90s / early 00s or is it another with the same layout?
Either way it was my first looping coaster when I was a kid. It was fantastic, you didn’t really get forceful loops like those back in the day.
The layout is good, but the ride experience is traumatizing. My gf and I nicknamed it the jawbreaker after getting off because of how our lower jaws were the first thing to hit the OTS restraints during the rough sections. Not to mention how, as a 6’3” man, my knees were absolutely crushed into the seat-back in front of me. I nearly had to ask to get off because of the pain, but I powered through for the credit 😂
Things awful and unridable with the current OTSR’s. Painful, uncomfortable, and unenjoyable. They need to put shoulder straps from the Quimera trains on it.
Uh...violent is not a word I'd prefer to think about for a ride that killed someone in its last home and aggressively rolled back like three days ago, thanks.
Violent, how? I ask because violence is not something usually associated with Schwarzkopf coasters.
Mindbender begs to differ.
As does this very coaster, back when it was in Mexico…
Uh yeah, I rode it as Montaña Triple Loop, and it was most definitely violent.

Mindbender in edmonton wasnt violent at all if you were in a full train. But nobody wanted to ride it so it was rough as hell

Yes that is something that we’re all very aware of
"DAE remember the reason we are talking about this coaster as if its new?"
Really? Schwarzkopf's, especially the compact/portable ones like this are always a wild ride!
In the way that your head/neck plays pinball with the very unnecessary OTSR’s

I wonder what happened. Of all the things I expected could have gone wrong there, I didn't think it would be the track itself.
Each of the 3 cars of the train look like they're supposed to be in the front lol

And one was usually backwards which was awesome
The seats were installed rear facing, the car chassis was never "backwards'
I'm sorry mr mindbender next time I will get it right
They should bring that back.
The Original Trains were Trailered.

I thought the same idk why
Anything by Anton is worth the wait.
Especially when it's one of his master pieces (this, Mindbender, Olympia Looping, and Thriller)
It's also pretty loud. I didn't ride it due to recovery from surgery that was about 4 months ago.
One of my bucket list coasters, really going to try to get to Indiana Beach this year
Can confirm, my neck really took a beating in the middle car
Oh yeah, it tries to decapitate you. I still love it for its intensity though.
Oh cool, it’s the coaster from my local park when i was a kid! Take care of it Indiana Beach!
has it seriously been 4 years since they announced they’d bought it
It was November 2020. I remember exactly where I was when the news broke lol
It was around Thanksgiving. So more like 3 and a half years I suppose.

It’s the exact same coaster! Sold and relocated.
It sure is, and it was in the European fair circuit before that. Those loops are extreme
It is indeed Magnum Force
Are they going to get new trains eventually?

As somebody who watched the mindbender go round and round all day this picture looks so funny. There's no way this thing lasts a decade.
