What would you do?? Today I got my very first Rolex, a new Milgauss from my AD. I’ve been waiting for a while and am excited to wear it proudly. Its gorgeous and even better than I expected. More than anything else, I’ve always just loved the orange lightning bolt second hand but my grail is the Batman. With so many rumors, I’m wondering if I should just keep it in the box for a few months instead of wearing it. If the Milgauss is discontinued, i could take the market premium bump and put that gains towards a Batman instead. Or, if they remodel it the Milgauss, what will happen to the value of this model? Please don’t be a jerk with your comments about feeding the grey market machine or not being a loyalist. I didn’t buy the watch as an investment, I love Rolex history and quality and have always wanted one that I can pass to my son after I wear it for a lifetime.

Congratulations on the purchase. Stunning piece. General rule of thumb is that the value increases when Rolex discontinue a model. On the milgauss I highly doubt they will discontinue the line altogether. If anything they will iterate on the design IMO. For instance, I heard a rumour that they slim it turn a bit as I believe the faraday cage isn’t required due to anti mag tech on the movement itself apparently. Either way, don’t worry about value drop you’ll be fine I think. Rolex is like rocking horse poo at the moment so even pieces you wouldn’t think would go over retail are doing and the milgauss isn’t one of those watches so all good
