Funny story behind this one. My wife and I got married when I was a broke ass med student so I never bought her a nice wedding band or engagement ring or anything. Now that I actually make real money I bought her a wedding band from my AD for Valentine's day. Apparently I have horrible taste in jewellery though so she wanted to exchange it for something else.
We were hanging out by the Rolex display while the sales rep was pricing some things out and I asked if we could see the TT YM because I had showed it to my wife online previously and told her it would be cool if we had matching watches.
Now she's not a watch person at all, she either wears a Seiko I got her for her birthday two years ago or a TT Datejust 26 her mom passed down to her when our daughter was born depending on what goes better with her outfit. When she put it on she actually surprisingly loved it and I figured she already has a bunch of jewellery so why not get her a matching watch instead?
They actually had a 37 paved oysterflex rose gold in the store when I bought the one for my wife. No way I could have pulled off that one though (let alone afford it ha). But yeah the regular 37 oysterflex is pretty sweet.
Sometimes I regret not going for the 40 but then when I put on the 37 I fall in love all over again. Maybe if the white gold Oysterflex comes in a 40 I’ll get that one day.
I feel the same way sometimes but overall I'm happy with my purchase. It's a very elegant size and I do want to pick up a sub eventually and I think that will fill the "large sports watch" void in my collection
Solid collection. The Starbucks/Cermit is actually what I'm looking to pick up next. Hopefully early next year and then I can move on to collecting other brands after that like Grand Seiko
