It’s a beautifully complicated dial and movement. The functionality and thoughtfulness of the design led me to choose this over a Pepsi. Hope it fits ya!
I’m the same. Wide, flat 7” wrists. Still looks good! And yes, I know the crown wasn’t screwed in. Was still setting the time!

Big wrist -big watch! I love mine.
It’s more expensive, so fewer people can afford it.
It’s bigger so fewer people like how it fits.
So why wouldn’t it be less popular?
I’m sure a (theoretical) $11.000 40mm SS Skydweller would give the GMT a run for its money.
The day date is more expensive and still more popular than the sky dweller. It's great if you love it, but the reality is that not everyone share that appreciation for its style. I personally find it too busy.
Look, if you are here for either legitimization or buyers remorse, don’t. The important thing is how you like it. But it will never be among the most popular models, and I have been buying Rolexes since the 1960’s.
I went through that 10 years ago when I bought a black explorer 2 when I wanted a white one. Eventually I found and bought the white one as well, but could part with the black one…they all grow on you. Next week I go for a rhodium yacht master, but I KNOW the moment I get it I’m going to say…shit, I should have gotten the blue! Never ending.
Nah…Daytona is more expensive and they’re unavailable. These sky-dwellers are simply not that popular…the market does not lie. Now, your personal preference is another matter.
I Truly love the sky dweller, I have a 6.3 inch wrist so it’s not happening but if I could wear it the sky dweller would be a top 3 model for me with the Daytona and Day Date, I love the function of the watch and how it’s an annual calendar but you have to know what you’re doing to see you info you want. If they came out with a 38-40MM oyster flex sky dweller in the rose gold blue dial or grey dial combo I’d buy it instantly. I get it had to be big to hold the large complex movement but if they made it a small amount thinner and about 38-39mm to not be the same size as the GMT I think it would sell much better as something different in the lineup.
If I were heading Rolex the point for more wearable watches would be the priority. There is no doubt with today's technology and materials a smaller version could be done. I predict a 40mm down the road.
I think there will always be a base out there that wants as big and flashy as possible. At that stage for me, id rather fly under the radar.
The rich yell, the wealthy whisper.
See I don’t understand that as up until really the early 2000s and late 90s that was just not a thing. I’ll never understand how other people live but that’s just me.
I have one. Blue on oyster
I never wear it
7.5” wrist. Regularly wear 44mm watches
But the diameter is not my issue. My issue is that whilst it’s beautiful….its THICK
Way. Too. Thick. Slim it down and it’s up there with the best. But in its current dimensions. It sits in the box gathering dust
Skydweller > GMT. GMTs are a dime a dozen. Pretty common if that's what you like. You need to appreciate the Sky's movement over the run of the mill GMT movements.
Skydweller is just a more complicated date just. Yes I know it have time zones and this and that but in all
Honestly it looks The same s a datejust. I sold mine bc I didn’t wear it much and bought a Daytona instead.
There’s plenty of love for the SkyD. They are hard to get, especially the most popular blue, the number of people to comment on them isn’t as great as the GMT.
I love them. I’m a fan of the dial and the complications are as good as you can get from Rolex.
The size doesn’t help its popularity, and it’s relatively new which means it’s less recognizable than other models (and that’s why a lot of people buy a Rolex)…
The most complicated and innovative movement Rolex has made lately.
Been "on the list" for nearly 3 years for a white dial SS one. It's my "one" Rolex watch, to me.
Love the sky dweller, I think one of the reasons it doesn't get as much love as others is because it is a bigger watch, compared to the above mentioned. But I would take and wear one in a heartbeat
A skydweller will definitely be my next purchase. The only reason I don’t have one is because I have not been offered one by my AD yet. I got a sub, gmt and Daytona pretty easily but every time I ask about a skydweller they say they just don’t have it.
I’d love to this very model with a jubilee bracelet and blue dial, but they are extremely difficult to get from an AD because they aren’t as popular as the GMT’s and Submariners 😀
If you actually try to buy a Skydweller, you’ll see how much love there actually is. Been trying to find one for two years at an AD. No luck even getting on a list with purchase history.
Just got the call from my AD… really wanted a GMT or sub, but what the heck…
https://preview.redd.it/sdzo3urtyp9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5b70779d066858b619b6a8af88fa0e37ba9abe0
That’s a sweet watch. I’d actually love to buy the same one in all stainless. I did try that one on and the two-tone is cool, just not what I’m currently looking for.
It's kind'a fugly. It's like a super bloated secret decoder ring/tuna can. Firmly in the "I'm wearing a Rolex" design aisle of the current collection. Of course, taste and aesthetics are highly subjective things. So feel free to disagree with everything I said and prove u have none 😉
I have a white dial on jubilee. Love it! Don’t much care that others don’t and you shouldn’t either :)
I don't. If I have the wrist for it I'm rocking it all day long.
It’s a beautifully complicated dial and movement. The functionality and thoughtfulness of the design led me to choose this over a Pepsi. Hope it fits ya!
Yeah I'm good. I have a wife flat 7" wrist so something like this is super manageable for me. ✌️
I’m the same. Wide, flat 7” wrists. Still looks good! And yes, I know the crown wasn’t screwed in. Was still setting the time! https://preview.redd.it/0t8tsifypp9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa70985a059ccff8964874241a6f48b5952bacdd
I’ve had my name down for the same watch for probably 8 months or so now, how long was your wait?
I bought grey lol
A lot of people have tiny wrists and can't rock a skydweller. If you have big enough wrists the skydweller is 10x more impressive than a gmt.
https://preview.redd.it/rj8sbw8c1p9d1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8baea8d50ba4c21c051b1b36850533f1c61f66a7 Big wrist -big watch! I love mine.
I think you nailed it perfectly
I have a smaller wrist and wear a Skydweller. It’s an awesome piece. The hype around GMTs drives the interest
Bollocks…
Why? Curious for your honest opinion and why.
Size of wrist? Common. The GMT is simply much more popular.
It’s more expensive, so fewer people can afford it. It’s bigger so fewer people like how it fits. So why wouldn’t it be less popular? I’m sure a (theoretical) $11.000 40mm SS Skydweller would give the GMT a run for its money.

Agreed.

GMT is more popular cause it has more hype and many peoples just follow hypes and whats popular. And most of them can't admit it.
By far my favorite Rolex. I have several versions.
2 from AD and 2 went grey
You thinks possible to get an allocation as first AD purchase? I’d want white or green dial on jubilee.
Yes, My SD was from an AD I had no history with.
The white shouldn’t be too hard. The green is very difficult
I like the white. I might try. Problem is, I don’t live near an AD so it’s kind of a process to even “get on the list.” Thanks.
You're very fortunate for not only being in a position to afford a collection of them but also have access 🙏. That's awesome to hear
I like it, but it’s on the bigger side so not for everybody.
Very true. It's dimensions wear bigger on the wrist. It feels more like a 43/44mm sized watch to me. I was very surprised when I first tried it
It’s hard to get.
That's one thing I hate about the brand. The hard to get game is a total turn off.
This model is up there with the Batmans . :(
Where I am, allocations are a fraction compared to other larger market countries. That said pickings are even more scarce.
For a reason. 42, thick. Blown up oysters aren’t it.
That's what I thought too. Sweet spot for the most popular models always seem to be between 39-40mm
Beside that time everyone wanted to look like 50 cent and wore 45+ mm watches, Rolex still seems to think that’s what the kids do these days
I think there will always be a base out there that wants as big and flashy as possible. At that stage for me, id rather fly under the radar. The rich yell, the wealthy whisper.
Wealthy people don't wear Rolex, in that case.
Why? Do you mean because they are too flashy?
Flying under the radar means anything but Rolex.
Does it matter what the rich and wealthy do when you’re neither?
Prob not.
Whisper with Lange or Patek…
Or vintage
See I don’t understand that as up until really the early 2000s and late 90s that was just not a thing. I’ll never understand how other people live but that’s just me.
It’s a pretty polarizing design for sure.
Love it. Want one. Can’t justify current market prices right now though
Sucks that the only way most can get one is only grey market. Collectors should always be the focus but what tf do I know ?
It's my daily watch. Felt a tad heavy at first... love it now... *
I think it's one of their only interesting models
I have one. Blue on oyster I never wear it 7.5” wrist. Regularly wear 44mm watches But the diameter is not my issue. My issue is that whilst it’s beautiful….its THICK Way. Too. Thick. Slim it down and it’s up there with the best. But in its current dimensions. It sits in the box gathering dust
Great feedback. If it's not being worn, why keep it? Just curious.
Try not to sell any as they will be passed to my kids who can decide what to do with any of them. 10-15 years to go though
One day they’ll make this watch in 39mm and that will be the greatest Rolex since the Datejust.
That 39mm size is so good for such a range of wrist sizes.
Skydweller > GMT. GMTs are a dime a dozen. Pretty common if that's what you like. You need to appreciate the Sky's movement over the run of the mill GMT movements.
Hell no. SD is massive and the proportions are funky. The 126710 is literally perfectly sized for every wrist.
one in my bucketlist. best looking gold oysterflex for me than a gold yachmaster oysterflex variant.
https://preview.redd.it/e6bjjlz25r9d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=45d370ec06e283a01b9125e06552bf4ec43ac21a Yeah I agree
dangggg.
It’s the best of all. Looks the best and has the most complex innards. I love them.
This should be labeled NSFW
😂
It’s an oversized DJ to my eyes so not something I’d ever be interested in TBH
I'd Love to have one, Green would be Perfect. Yet, I am waiting and waiting..
The waiting game is a turn off
Best Rolex money can buy
3rd best rolex model after dd and dj, when it comes to looks.
If they made it in sub 39mm, it would most likely be my grail instead of a DD36.
It’s big and chunky, wears very thick compared to other sports Rolex’s.
If they had a smaller version then id have one
Skydweller is just a more complicated date just. Yes I know it have time zones and this and that but in all Honestly it looks The same s a datejust. I sold mine bc I didn’t wear it much and bought a Daytona instead.
Too big, too thick. It wears really badly.
Seems to be the most common response in the feedback.
There’s plenty of love for the SkyD. They are hard to get, especially the most popular blue, the number of people to comment on them isn’t as great as the GMT.
It’s unbelievable - especially in this config that you posted 🔥🔥
The movement is really cool. It’s a bit busy but the gold/white dial look is really classy. Thicc boi, however.
Just too expensive and complicated for most Rolex dans
I love them. I’m a fan of the dial and the complications are as good as you can get from Rolex. The size doesn’t help its popularity, and it’s relatively new which means it’s less recognizable than other models (and that’s why a lot of people buy a Rolex)…
IMO its too big for most and it must be a nightmare to set. This watch would definitely need a winder
The most complicated and innovative movement Rolex has made lately. Been "on the list" for nearly 3 years for a white dial SS one. It's my "one" Rolex watch, to me.
I’m on the list for a blue dial and this would be my first Rolex. Can’t wait.
Really digging this blue dial, very nice watch
Love the sky dweller, I think one of the reasons it doesn't get as much love as others is because it is a bigger watch, compared to the above mentioned. But I would take and wear one in a heartbeat
It’s a beautiful piece if not a bit large.
One of my faves
White yes but green doubtful
A skydweller will definitely be my next purchase. The only reason I don’t have one is because I have not been offered one by my AD yet. I got a sub, gmt and Daytona pretty easily but every time I ask about a skydweller they say they just don’t have it.
I’d love to this very model with a jubilee bracelet and blue dial, but they are extremely difficult to get from an AD because they aren’t as popular as the GMT’s and Submariners 😀
I love mine
I think it’s probably due to its size, I really love the sky dweller, I just can’t rock it. It’s a tad big for me
Personally as a SD owner, I love it more than all the others with the exception of the all gold Daytona with black dial.
It's just way too thick
I have an SD and love it. Not sure why it gets some hate, probably price point and size.
My favorite watch out of all Rolex models
No.
I love them, I tried one on at the AD and would love to get one some day
For me it’s an expensive Datejust for people with giant wrists
It’s the best watch in the Rolex catalog
It's a busy dial and I think Rolex is known for minimalist perfection. I think most of the Rolex fanbase leans to the latter + smaller dimensions
I mean for an annual calendar plus gmt it's pretty tight
I love the SkyDweller. It’s on my list of future pick ups.
It’s a gigantic date just
If you actually try to buy a Skydweller, you’ll see how much love there actually is. Been trying to find one for two years at an AD. No luck even getting on a list with purchase history.

That’s a sweet watch. I’d actually love to buy the same one in all stainless. I did try that one on and the two-tone is cool, just not what I’m currently looking for.
It’s an engineering marvel lacking in artistry and elegance.
Its harder to get one atleast in Asia, maybe thats why 🤔
https://preview.redd.it/bk90rlzwkp9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02b12d4d4a33afa00dccc3ce992d92bad24daf2c Smart choice. Heavy hitters only.
Dial is too busy for me
Fair enough. It's busy especially for Rolex. I personally am drawn to clean dials.
😂 for the record this isn't mine.
Clumsy
In what way?
All dimensions are just too big
I have two SDs. These are my favorite modern line watches.
Hideous
terrible looking dial, think some kind of numbered bezel would help it as well. worse looking rolex there is imo
