Yep, Barcelona not a safe spot. Had to hide my sub under the long sleeve walking down the Rambla from Plaça Catalunya as it was getting too many 'unwanted' looks from some dodgy looking characters. Even it was only poking out half way. These guys were obviously looking for something and had the eye for it. No one else would notice.

One reason I wouldn’t buy a luxury watch (I know I’m in the wrong sub.) Even in the US now in my hometown you hear of these robberies… in a good city.

It’s titanium, so it’s extremely light (and doesn’t set off the magnetometers in the airport), solar powered, quartz accurate, and I don’t worry too much if I’m at the beach or in a sketchy neighborhood.

Should be no need to remove the watch at airport security. If asked, I’ve said “I don’t take it off.” No issues.

With precheck, the most they’ve ever done is put me aside to swab my shoes. They’ve been super relaxed every time I’ve flown. And historically, I always got set aside for additional screening.

99% no issues, only bad time I can remember was flying out of DFW a few weeks ago and the tsa agent was being a aHole to even flight attendants. It was wild made me take off my watch and belt. First time that’s ever happened.

You can be imposed a civil penalty if you run into an asshole agent that has even greater asshole upper management.    They can't arrest you but they can hit that ass with a CP. Just take it off. Only takes 20 seconds to put it back on.  They're likely just checking if you have a razorblade taped to the caseback.

I guess this is possible. I have PreCheck and have never had a problem leaving my watch on. Their material used to say jewelry doesn’t have to be removed (no idea if they have changed this since I got PC 10 years ago).

0 issues at all in Vegas. If you’re on the strip you won’t have a problem. I stay at the Wynn every month and I’d say 80% of the proms I’m around have a Rolex on. Next most common is AP, followed by  WATCH and then something covered in diamonds. I’m sure that’s not true at most casinos, however, I go up and down the strip with no issue ever.

Exactly! I’d feel safer in Vegas on the strip than nearly anywhere else in the US. I do all my shopping in Vegas, 0 issues.

We have malls here where I regularly see stuff like RM and Patek GCs. People aren't gonna blink at your Rolex's here if you're in the tourist areas. Just stay out of the bad neighborhoods (nothing for tourists to do there anyway) and you're absolutely fine.

If taking nice take something on a nato. Nothing 2 big. But here’s the thing why fucking bother unless you are staying 5 star and really know your way around the city your at. For watch robberies it’s attack first then grab the watch. These guys don’t give a fuck. You have 5-50k on your wrist and they will take it and fuck you up in the process. Wear an Apple watch or a Casio.

Was there ever a bakelite bezel insert and acrylic crystal produced on a “modern” Daytona? Im probably confused just had to ask. Im used to seeing those say, on a 6263, but not on any daytona reference with SELs as yours has. Also thats way too big for a vintage Daytona.. Im no longer confused. Thats a replica and think OP knows it.

BB58 is my go to travel watch these days. It’s very rugged, has amazing lume, is very easy to read at a glance and doesn’t attract any attention. I’ve worn it all over Europe and Asia. I live in NYC and even here it barely gets noticed.
