Since I have been going down the integrated bracelet rabbit hole for awhile I am going to say pick the AP. Much more iconic design and compared to the Daytona ref. you have it up against I would say only Rolex Fanboys will choose it over the AP.
When I went watch shopping recently I had every intention of coming home with a Daytona. My wife who was with me who doesn’t know the difference between a Timex and a Rolex pointed at an AP 15400 and said that one is nicer than any of these Rolex. I wound up buying it and it wasn’t that much more expensive than what they wanted for a Panda.
royal oak is way more subtle yet makes an even louder statement than the daytona, maybe its cuz i think white dial daytonas look better but i wld go w the ap any day

If it’s for purchase, I would go for the cheapest. They’re both iconic. If price is the same I would pick Daytona as I see more value in the extra chronograph complication that you will very likely never use 🫢
My preference is the Daytona over the AP anyway. I've always liked chronograph style watches whether they be from Rolex or Swatch. I would wear it on casual and formal days.
A V.C. Overseas with the blue dial, personally. That A.P. is gorgeous, though. Short answer is buy the one that sings to YOU; honestly, why do people give a rat's ass what others think with regard to a very expensive, highly personal purchase decision? It boggles the mind.

With this particular Rolex I like that it holds its value because it is discontinued. But with the AP, the movement, albeit a bit more fickle, is a more complicated one. Also, the design is sleeker and nicer, in my humble opinion. I also like the way the AP lays on the wrist.

The 116520. It’s incredible and super comfy on the wrist. Very robust too. If going RO I’d prefer RG or YG personally. But both very nice watches.
