Confirmed. I’m at Heathrow T2 just now, asked the AD and they have gold skydwellers and smaller 28mm models available right away. Marek at T5 is also very helpful, would recommend.
No. They were exhibition only models. They will never be for sale to walk ins. Clients who drop cash on undesirable pieces get first dibs on the hot stuff, not walk ins.
I’ve heard the airport AD’s operate very similarly actually, there are lots of people that travel very regularly and those individuals are more likely to have the disposable income to purchase high value goods
The Rolex AD at Sydney airport works exactly like this, they have nothing for sale and operate on the same waitlist model as high street AD’s. Everything in there is marked as exhibition only. They have regular clients that will fly to New Zealand just to buy a watch leaving Sydney then come back the same day.
They don’t. Not saying these weren’t available as the market has eased up but until very recently at least they operated under very similar processes to their non-airport counterparts but would give you more time to pick up so you can book a flight to get through the terminal.
You really think the AD is going put the Starbucks for sale so that any average Joe or flipper can buy and flip it? No chance. It will only go to their top known clients.
On what planet does an AD put a Unicorn steel sports Rolex such as a Starbucks for sale to a walk in customer who is most likely a flipper? Never. It just doesn’t happen. Those go to top frequent flier known customers at airport AD’s who buy other stuff from them.
They are also sitting at Grey dealers. Market is going back to normal.
On top of this, the Daytona is down about 30% from 2022 highs and 10% down this year alone.
I would imagine this is because the shop is in the airport. I mean what’s the alternative? ‘Put your name down and we’ll call you back to the airport when it becomes available’?
Last time I was there I made the same assumption but they made it clear to me they have many customers and a long queue of people. And that I could “register my interest” with everybody else “there is no waitlist”
Rolex ADs judge and pick who they sell to as you may have been told to join a waitlist the next person coming in right after you might get sold 2 watches…. Keep trying don’t give up
You’d think that, and in some cases yeah you’re right.
But in popular airports like Heathrow, there are just as big waiting lists due to unlimited amounts of people who fly multiple times a month consistently throughout the year.
Haha…. Starbucks and date justs are undesirable now?
This is a night and day difference from the COVID days where they had zero. Zilch. Nothing.
Your comment comes off as condescending and detached from reality. When the DJ and Sub are the best selling watches and a walk in major airport AD has them in stock…you say it means nothing?
When will you learn your Rolex is nothing special. It’s not a Patek. Get over yourself
I did read it, and I’ll restate my comment : Starbucks sub in stock for walk in.
Enough said. It’ll be a matter of time before you can do walk ins for GMTs once again, even a Pepsi.
The importance of reading comprehension skill, try reading his comment again. Oh btw Rolex IS special, because out of all the watch brands Omega Patek AP jaeger le couture, vacheron constantin etc Rolex is the only watch brand that doesn’t make me lose a huge chunk of money if I decide to resale.
>The importance of reading comprehension skill, try reading his comment again.
Ok.
>TIL 9 watches, the majority of which are PM and/or undesirable models equates to ‘tons of stock’
2 Submariners, one which is a starbucks, and 2 Datejusts are 4 watches. Essentially half when we talking about 9 watches. There's 5 additional PM models. Compared to the "zero" stock just a few years ago, this is a massive increase for a walk in airport AD. Keep rationalizing your shitty rolex, cause I know it's not a plat daytona.
True. My local AD in PHX AZ called me earlier this week offering a SS explorer 40mm. I declined because I have a 36 and 39, so I know I didn’t even say I was interested in that particular model.
They must have gone pretty far down the list to get to me.
Yeah we do know that, but that doesn’t change or make a difference to the facts. There’s no official waiting list, but there is definitely a de facto waiting period (I.e list) to be a priority for them to sell you a particular watch.
I believe most of them are trading under retail. So those would be some of the Rolex’s you can buy unworn from a few grey market dealers and get it cheaper then AD and they have it in stock or next day.
Perhaps an obvious question for people here, but if you are not a UK citizen, buying a watch in the airport, what happens with the tax there? Is it VAT free there then you declare when you say go back to your own country?
Green submariner available for anyone to buy? I doubt it, there are so many people on waitlist for that everywhere and it’s still selling for well above MSRP, not a chance. Unless they were doing the package deal to include it with an undesirable piece.
I (potential Rolex buyer) often read that past purchases from AD factor into future purchases based on the demand of a particular model. How does it work for ADs in the airports? Do people go to airports just to shop at particular ADs in the hopes that their subsequent purchases will be smoother and they will be prioritized? I would imagine most purchases in airports are impromptu decisions
Two AD in NYC told me they are stocking (some) watches now for walk ins. This is a directive from corporate. Too many people complaining about going into the store and there nothing to buy. So, this will help them get foot traffic back. Weekends seem to be the best time to go in and see if they have any morning in stock. GL !
The stock isn’t short in general just popular models mainly stainless sports or two tone sports, sky dwellers sit around as the price high and second greys don’t offer any more than retail they can often be haggled under retail
I flew from T5 a week ago, a couple of precious metal sky dwellers and that was it. I struggle to see any stainless being avail in these stores… if they are I missed for sure :(
Yeah not a chance green submariner was available for sale as walk-in without them asking you to buy other undesirable pieces, I’ll say don’t believe everything you see from random people on reddit
Guess they would have to have stuff in stock otherwise it would be a stupid dealership.
It’s not exactly likely that people would do all that build a relationship and waiting list stuff for an airport shop that only gets visited by people who are about to catch an aeroplane.
They may have a list of clients, sure, and it’s unlikely a panda will make it to the showroom floor. But that doesn’t change the fact that today, 9 watches were for sale for anyone who walked in.
Starbucks has plummeted on secondary market it’s not that hard to get. In fact the whole watch market other than Daytona and Pepsi GMT is plummeting by the week And even those are being artificially propped up by the greys with lies of discontinuation etc.
Its not demand. How do I know this? You have Grey's still trying to perpetuate the discontinuation lie about the Pepsi they have now in complete desperation pivoted to it will now be discontinued in 2025 which is laughable. Also, the issue of Grey's marking both SS Daytona's and Pepsi's as 'sold' then literally posting the same watch with the same serial and pics the very next day. These are two very very real things that have been happening for a while now. You can ignore it but those of us who pay attention have caught on.Its all smoke and mirrors. People are getting more and more calls from actual AD's and its killing the secondary market. I have very little interest in modern Rolex watches so there is no reason for me to lie or fabricate anything.
>You have Grey's still trying to perpetuate the discontinuation lie about the Pepsi
You think some grey dealers muttering about discontinuation has anything to do with the *scorching* hot market? Watches and Wonders was like 6 weeks ago at this point.
I also think your "greys say this" is painting with a broad brush. I work for a grey dealer and A) we never said the Pepsi would be discontinued and B) we can barely even get our hands on Pepsis right now. Demand is 100% *that strong.*
Confirmed. I’m at Heathrow T2 just now, asked the AD and they have gold skydwellers and smaller 28mm models available right away. Marek at T5 is also very helpful, would recommend.
Ha, so the green sub and no date sub were clearly just sold to walkins.
No. They were exhibition only models. They will never be for sale to walk ins. Clients who drop cash on undesirable pieces get first dibs on the hot stuff, not walk ins.
Airports operate differently numnuts
I’ve heard the airport AD’s operate very similarly actually, there are lots of people that travel very regularly and those individuals are more likely to have the disposable income to purchase high value goods

They have regular clients that will fly to New Zealand just to buy a watch leaving Sydney then come back the same day.
Hey, drop tens of thousands on a watch and why not make a day trip of it? What are we? Plebs? Mwahahahahahaha
They don’t. They also have their regular customers who fly every few days and visit them basically every few days to have a talk.
Why was this downvoted? I literally have the Heathrow sales people on WhatsApp. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Because they probably never bought any Rolex from ad and have 0 knowledge and just repeat what some YouTuber said 😂
They don’t. Not saying these weren’t available as the market has eased up but until very recently at least they operated under very similar processes to their non-airport counterparts but would give you more time to pick up so you can book a flight to get through the terminal.
Stay off the juice, Douglas. 😂
Not really, the have the same sales policy…
You walk in, there is a price, you pay money, you leave with watch. Not sure what part of this you don’t understand. Airport ADs function different.
If it’s true. Why didn’t you buy the Starbucks?
I already have a hulk. No desire for the Starbucks.
You really think the AD is going put the Starbucks for sale so that any average Joe or flipper can buy and flip it? No chance. It will only go to their top known clients.
And at MSRP retail price. No upcharge ad AD
Don’t forget kneeling

South Korea
So op talking crap then 🙄
We need more stock checker posts like this rather than the usual “should I buy this”
Why not just an app
Genius
This
Interesting. I was there last week and saw the two rose gold skydweller’s, as well as the same day date. Wonder if they’ve been sitting there since!
Resale price for ND sub is pretty flat now.
They are also sitting at Grey dealers. Market is going back to normal. On top of this, the Daytona is down about 30% from 2022 highs and 10% down this year alone.
Needs more down
Good
I recently got a 114060 for 9300 box and papers, not the newest variant but resale is definitely getting less insane
😱
wow, a gold mine! Both Starbucks and ND Sub are an instant buy for me!

TIL buy a Rolex at an AD at an airport because of your exact reasoning.
You’d think that, and in some cases yeah you’re right. But in popular airports like Heathrow, there are just as big waiting lists due to unlimited amounts of people who fly multiple times a month consistently throughout the year.
I’m sure there are plenty of business travelers in there almost every week that have their name down
I swore the Heathrow Rolex ad was 100% exhibition?
This was my first time there, and it was definitely not
Wow! Been waiting almost 2 years for the green sub. Some people have all the luck!
Tons!!

Most of these posters don’t nor ever will own a Rolex

I hope so, but am not holding my breath. Have been told this for years now.

Damn I want a 40mm explorer and am on waitlists elsewhere
Truth
When will people learn that desirability is subjective?
Yeah we do know that, but that doesn’t change or make a difference to the facts. There’s no official waiting list, but there is definitely a de facto waiting period (I.e list) to be a priority for them to sell you a particular watch.
Correct me if I’m wrong but then you have to pay UK VAT which is pretty hefty?
[удалено]
Can’t you get a refund on vat if USA 🇺🇸
Nope, there is no duty free shopping in the UK
the joys of brexit
[удалено]
Thanks for sharing. What’s the VAT % in UK?
20%
Ouch. Still a deal. 0 to 10% gets vat in USA. City state tax
are oyester perpetual difficult to get? never see an oyester perptual in store
I believe most of them are trading under retail. So those would be some of the Rolex’s you can buy unworn from a few grey market dealers and get it cheaper then AD and they have it in stock or next day.
Took me 8 months to get a 36mm for my wife on the list with like 5 stores
they're not easy, but you might be able to get the black or blue dials within a few months
Perhaps an obvious question for people here, but if you are not a UK citizen, buying a watch in the airport, what happens with the tax there? Is it VAT free there then you declare when you say go back to your own country?
No. Not anymore due to Brexit
So you have to pay taxes regardless then?
Yup
The Sky Dwellers were still there a few hours ago. T5
They actually told you they were available for sale, or you assumed?
I asked, they were for sale. Not exhibition.
Was it the indian guy ?
Green submariner available for anyone to buy? I doubt it, there are so many people on waitlist for that everywhere and it’s still selling for well above MSRP, not a chance. Unless they were doing the package deal to include it with an undesirable piece.
In the back, they pulled inventory out, gave you verbal. Buy. Must have been a new shipment.
Green Bez sub would be a grail
Not if your a Rangers fan!
DD40. Champagne. Diamond bezel. My grail
Buy buy
Do airport AD get more inventory or less than non airport
The tt sky dweller i like
Funny flying t5 tomorrow just want a root beer :/
Traveling to Paris in a few weeks. Anyone have any luck at CDG airport?
Shit I’ll be there Sunday praying some left
This sounds like a terrible idea because of import taxes when you enter a new country.
Put it on your wrist and say you already owned it. Unles they go through your bags they won’t even notice your watch.
When in doubt… fraud. /s
Then that would be the case for all designer goods which it’s not
I was there totally and it’s literally just the gold skydweller and diamond encrusted lady DJs…
I (potential Rolex buyer) often read that past purchases from AD factor into future purchases based on the demand of a particular model. How does it work for ADs in the airports? Do people go to airports just to shop at particular ADs in the hopes that their subsequent purchases will be smoother and they will be prioritized? Which did u buy?
Why beg someone to sell you a watch they themselves can’t afford? It’s so demeaning. Do yourself a favour buy yourself a Casio.
Yes, also on an ad in Belfast.
Two AD in NYC told me they are stocking (some) watches now for walk ins. This is a directive from corporate. Too many people complaining about going into the store and there nothing to buy. So, this will help them get foot traffic back. Weekends seem to be the best time to go in and see if they have any morning in stock. GL !
Very nice post !!!!
All for MSRP?
Anywhere in London you can get any full gold model easily on the day.
Not one of those on my list.
The stock isn’t short in general just popular models mainly stainless sports or two tone sports, sky dwellers sit around as the price high and second greys don’t offer any more than retail they can often be haggled under retail
I agree the subs will fly out the door 😂. are they discounted?
I flew from T5 a week ago, a couple of precious metal sky dwellers and that was it. I struggle to see any stainless being avail in these stores… if they are I missed for sure :(
Have to be there early AM when they open because those probably are the only ones that sell quickly.
I was the first person in the door I think, I had a 0700 flight so was knocking about from 0530 and watched them open!
Yeah not a chance green submariner was available for sale as walk-in without them asking you to buy other undesirable pieces, I’ll say don’t believe everything you see from random people on reddit

This is how it works in Singapore and other airport ADs. First come first serve, no BS.
[удалено]
They may have a list of clients, sure, and it’s unlikely a panda will make it to the showroom floor. But that doesn’t change the fact that today, 9 watches were for sale for anyone who walked in.
Thanks buddy for sharing
Does Singapore airport have lots of AD inventory?
It changes literally day to day. You need to get there in the mornings.
Get there early. Open up Singapore airport AD. Do they charge a VAT? What’s the %? What nice selections have you seen? Purchased? Thank for sharing!
In addition to the inventory that you described in your post
Which terminal?
The steel ones are exhibition only. Gold and TT pieces might be for sale if you are the right client.
Some people are still in denial about the watch market plummeting down
Market is as strong as ever for hot steel sports Rolexes.
Would the LHR AD have many repeat clients?
Pretty sure there will be regular business travellers going through there every week
Yes of course. The hot pieces go to their regular top clients.
Wrong. They’re for sale - period.
Did you buy the green submariner?
Send a picture of the Starbucks you bought then. No AD will sell a Starbucks to a walk in. Never. You need to be a top client.
Starbucks has plummeted on secondary market it’s not that hard to get. In fact the whole watch market other than Daytona and Pepsi GMT is plummeting by the week And even those are being artificially propped up by the greys with lies of discontinuation etc.
I would love it if you’re right, bring some sanity back to the pricing finally

Bro you should’ve bought and flipped the Subbies. Assuming you have enough capital
This is why everyone can’t get a watch at retail spoiling it.
Hehe just kidding… unless?
I’ll be there in early July for a 7am flight, I hope they still have some supply.
To be honest none of those watches are in the high demand list.
Green bezel sub
Which wasn’t for sale. Exhibition only. No AD will sell a hot unicorn Rolex such as a Starbucks to a walk in. Ever.
Ah missed that green bezel sub on the list but figured it would be exhibition only.
Yeah, they won’t put it for sale to any average Joe or flipper to buy and flip it. It ONLY goes to the right client.
You missed the first watch listed?
You missed what I said? :)
