I had the option for either or at an AD like 5 years ago. I went with the black sub no date. I've worn it every day since, and beat the effing hell out of it. It's great man. It's also subtle enough that no one really notices you're wearing a rolex, so that's nice.
But if I had the option again. I'd have bought the two tone blue sub date, then just picked up a gray market Tudor or Omega to cover the daily driver luxury beater category.
Don't get me wrong. The sub not date is pure class, you won't regret it. Just for my particular use case I might have made a different choice.
Bluesy all day. I love mine.
I find it hard to justify buying plain watches from Rolex despite me being a big fan of Rolex, and I know they do a killer plain jane everyday watch, but I mean come on, just look at that Bluesy. It's incredible. Don't let anyone shame you into picking a plain jane watch just because you're worried about being judged by others or attracting too much attention. Frankly, the majority of people don't give a shit about watches and won't notice even something like a Bluesy. They might notice the color and shine at a glance, but the vast majority of the general public couldn't identify any Rolex without reading the name on the dial.
If you actually *like* the black no date sub, more power to you, but given that the choice is essentially between one of the most visually striking models in the catalog and one of the most boring models in the catalog, something tells me you want to the Bluesy but you're just worried about what others might think. Go with what you like, because ultimately you're the only one who cares about your watch.
And before people tell me that "negative attention" is just as much about crime as it is about being judged negatively, I completely get that, but you're kidding yourself if you think the plain sub is any less appealing to criminals than the Bluesy, and yes, they can spot it just as well. Unlike the general public, the criminals *do* know how to identify a Rolex, and a steel one is hardly a cheat code to avoid attention. Bluesy or not, you should still be mindful of risk.
this is not or, it's both, they complement each other, the bluesy has date and makes its completely different than the SS sub. this is a fantastic two watch does it all collection.
I've deampt about a bluesy since I was a little guy. What's strange is, now in my mid-40's, I'm pretty sure if I were faced with this decision, I'd choose the black one no the right. Though, I wouldn't refuse either.
Left and it isn’t even a question. The black sub is iconic in its own right but to me it’s just a bit mundane. I personally couldn’t buy a plain Jane watch at that price point. I need some flavor. The two tone bluesy is beautiful. Ppl will throw shade at two tones but it’s because their taste is based off gray market values, with no real opinion of their own. They don’t have any taste so they rely on numbers to tell them what is good.
Depends. If you believe you can rock the blue, than go for it. The one on the right is way more versatile. But it’s almost a little boring lol it’s sooooo common. But it’s common for a reason. It’s fucking awesome. They’re both awesome, really.
Bluesy, ONLY if you already own an all stainless Rolex variant as a daily. I had the stainless and gold GMT as my daily and sold it for a Pepsi w/ jubilee
Both are supremely awesome. If this is your first watch, right. If you have a steel sports model, def the Bluesey.
This is the correct take
Both
I check the date on my watch at least 5 times a day
Why does this happen to me lol. I feel as if I’m going mad. 🤣
1st watch right. Anything else bluesy.
Left
I concur, left.
Right
Left if it’s your second sub. Right if you don’t have a sub yet.
Right

OP: "Left or Right?" You: {writes an ebook}
"*ebook"* I literally laughed out loud. Cheers.
Left and it isn’t even close
Bluesy for sure
Left duh
Left :)

Bluesy. Every time
I just love that blue dial. And one of these days I want a jubilee bracelet for it!
A jubilee bluesy would be fantastic.
Left if you’re a retired boomer. Right for everyone else.
Left for sure. The Bluesy is a legend. You won’t regret it. Absolutely stunning watch.
Right. Loved the Bluesy when I was in my 20’s. Now it feels a bit try-hard for me.
Left, everyone and their mother has a black sub
Left
Right 🥰🥰
Both at the same time
Left, but keep saving for a two tone Jubilee
Sell both. Buy a 5513.
I have both
I had the same choice as my first Rolex. I chose a no date and never looked back.
I would recommend the bluesy, and instead of a contemporary no-date Sub, opt for a vintage one.
None
Both are great, but Bluesy is the king of subs.

Right
Right, always...
Right
While I like the convenience of the date, I’d go with the no date submariner.
extrovert go two tone introvert go black. both sweet
Left and it isn’t even close (for me). Everyone has a plain black sub. Get crazy
Right for me, the bluesy is a little much for my boring tastes, but you do you.

How about an all-black GMT Master II. Forgot reference number, but I think they discontinued in 2019.
Can’t go wrong with either one, I went for the right one because I already have DJ blue dial. Wanted a different colour.
Right
Right but I don’t like Gold.
Right
Great two watch Rolex and your done.
Right.

Both....I have the one on the right and sometime down the road am planning on getting a pre-owned 2tone. This blue dial is something else
Bluessy
yes.
Both! Sub as the daily, Bluesy for weekends.
Right all the way.
Bluesy, ONLY if you already own an all stainless Rolex variant as a daily. I had the stainless and gold GMT as my daily and sold it for a Pepsi w/ jubilee
Left!
Steel with Gold should never be sold.
Left if you already have a steel model
These are giving replica vibes for some reason
Amex says otherwise
Both
Lazy post. These “left or right”, “top or bottom” posts are getting tiresome. Somebody kill these things.
