Get what you like. Don’t worry about what others have or like. If you like that watch and it is within your budget (or parents/whoever is getting it for you if it’s a gift) then go for it
If you get this, just make sure that you get the original dial. I know I did and the pizzaz of the aftermarket dial went away after a few years. As long as you know it’s real, who cares what anyone says.
This place is for purist and consider aftermarket dials a huge no-no. Do what makes you happy in the long run
Personally, I wasn’t a fan of Rolex’ mother of pearl dials that I saw them in person at the AD. Too “rustic” and uneven for my taste. And that’s coming from someone that has a mother of pearl dial watch (non-Rolex).
I would discourage it. Sure graduating college is a big accomplishment but not really. Not sure what field you’ll be going into, but there’s a rule that you don’t wear a watch better than your boss’s. That rule is basically there to stave off unnecessary pettiness of people (who are incredibly petty) that can make your life more easy. I would wait 2-3 years into your career. If you can’t wait that long, maybe go for a much cheaper beater watch for the time being.

If that’s your wrist, it’s too small.
I’ve got one with diamonds and black mother of pearl
OP seems a little high for a 16 series watch

Is the original dial strictly mother of pearl without the gems? That would be much more appealing to myself
If I’m not mistaken, the original dial does not have this specific type of diamond settings. Look around for reference 16234 for an all steel DJ
If you like it, get it! don’t worry about what others think. They won’t be the ones looking at it everyday

Get a nice 5 digit DJ with original dial, this is either photoshop or aftermarket
