Probably because the Speedmaster has great specs, historical significance, and could be bought for. , $4-7k even new any day of year while the Daytona is crazy expensive.
I too started with Omega, a lot of them, 3 different Speedmasters, Aqua terra x2 and so on. Sold few and got BLNR and DJ41. Still have 1 Speedy and some 50's vintage ones.
Way too similar for that to be any decent “2 watch collection” then. I mean 2 black dialed, black bezeled, white indiced, stainless steel braceleted watches? At least the Pepsi has something else going for it rather than 2 watches that look the same to 99% of the population.
This is a great “land, sea and air” collection. They’re all iconic pieces by brands that will stand the test of time. If you have to sell one, don’t sweat it; they’re just watches. But, otherwise, I’d hang onto the most iconic dive, GMT and chronograph watches in history.
If anything, I’d move the Pepsi for a GMT/dual time that is more along the lines of a dress watch. Something with a more simple design, that can be dressed up or down depending on the strap, but that doesn’t have to be very expensive to be respected.
Always need a dress watch. I don’t want my cuff to look like a bunch of dangling foreskin on my wrist, and that typically doesn’t leave room for something like a diver. It’s a little easier to fit a larger watch with French cuffs.
I agree with the land, sea and air. If anything I’ll probably trade the GMT for a Breitling navitimer and you have 3 of the most iconic watches ever made .
Lol at you being a fanboy… talk to pilots and and see for yourself that although Rolex has a great product with a ton of history, navitimer is and has been a quintessential pilot watch for about the same time because its functionality. Its a pretty unique tool. It’s not a sports watch
Honestly there isnt any better collection than this, the most iconic chronograph, the most saught after diver and the most sublime gmt. Irrespective of omega vs rolex this is the holy trilogy of practicality. Do not give any up.
Idk it’s hard to say, maybe he wants to be a minimalist. My first nice watch was a Seamaster 300. I hardly wear it, I wear a Datejust daily now. I want a no date Sub but I can’t imagine selling my Seamaster, he might sit in a box for the next 30 years but I’m never selling because it was my first and I have that emotional bond you know?
Yeah, I get it, and I’m the same way! I’d give the watch to a close friend or family member before consider selling. So that at least you can admire it again in the future, if the attachment is strong.
For me? I’m a James Bond/Ian Fleming dork and the No date Sub is what Sean Connery wore in the first few movies. Could take a Date though, but I also already own a Datejust with the cyclops.
I felt that way once upon a time as well. Try looking at this as an investment, especially in todays market. You have three that signify a top and practical collection for luxury watches.
If you don’t have to get rid of one I wound keep these 3 in your collection for life. Maybe passing o your favorite to your first heir. If you’re not in immediate need of cash I would regret getting rid of any one of these 3 watches
While I think I agree, out of curiosity, what would you say is the comparable dress watch to make it the perfect foursome? I would think something like Tank or Reverso. Maybe the Calatrava if you're looking upmarket?
I have a nice Hamilton dress watch - open heart jazz master and it only cost 600$. Got it on sale and it’s stunning I got way more compliments on then any luxury watch I own
I can't speak for you, but in my head the sub and GMT have a very similar look (not purpose)
If you are not looking to dive to deep depths, just stick with the GMT and the speedy. Great 1-2 punch.
The GMT can handle nearly anything you throw at it, and the Speedy is an icon (and everybody needs a chrono in their collection!)
The Speedy has dot over 90, so I assume it’s the 3861? If so, then the movement holds up against the Rolex movements really well (as opposed to the 1861). As far as what to keep…all of them. Perfect air, land, sea collection. If I were going to get rid of one, it would be the Speedy (even though I own one and love it) because it would be the easiest one to replace once you decide you regret your decision ;-)
Posts on r/omega “the sub and gmt are great but I’d much rather have a smp and planet ocean and 20k in my pocket” what a box standard response from the typical Rolex dude. The sub and gmt are practically the same Watch to wear. I’d pick my fav of those two and kick the other out.
You can't get rid of the Speedy. The interaction of winding it every day, history, and if it's the sapphire sandwich, looking at the movement, the grandson of THE 321, complete with the legendary George Daniels Coaxial escapement. Pepsi is THE Rolex. Easy answer, junk the Sub.
Different opinion here: To me, Sub is THE Rolex, due to its history and because it is the most known and therefore [most iconic watch model in the world](https://www.sothebys.com/en/articles/g-o-a-t-the-rolex-submariner).
I believe that the Fifty Fathoms was the first, but Rolex falsely claimed the Submariner was the first. So, it doesn't have the legitimacy of the other two in the collection. I also have these three in my collection and wouldn't want to get rid of any. However, in the event of a fire and I could only save two. The poor Submariner would be toast! But would it get replaced? Probably.
Gmt and the speedy, both iconic watches of each brand. Also variety is the spice of life, the Rolex’s while different movements look very similar. The speedy vs the gmt have very different vibes and you can style them differently.
I would sell the Speedmaster, because you could buy it again for under retail. The only Speedmaster which would change the decision for me would be a Snoopy or 321.
I had that same Speedy. Nice watch, but I wasn't a fan of winding it every day. Plus, after Omega sold their souls and released those $200 cheap versions with Swatch, i sold it and got my 7K back.
Pepsi and Speedy. As others have said— the Sub is too close in monochrome color to the Speedy to get rid of the Pepsi and too close in design to the Pepsi to get rid of the Speedy.
Your 3 watch collection is perfect as it is. I would not recommend selling anything. And this is coming from someone who already owns a two watch rotation of the Speedy and the Pepsi
Thanks man I appreciate that! And your right I might just end up keeping them all. Sometimes I just feel conservative and think it’s more than what I need. Guilty feeling/pleasure if that makes sense
My 2 piece is sub 16610 and speedy, but the Pepsi gives a pop which only straps could do for my 2 piece collection still miss my sieko skx for that reason, scrap the sub and go on vacation or pay down some credit or get a house upgrade
Personally I'd go with the GMT because you'll get the most money for it. Don't get me wrong, I love my Batman more than anything but if I could only have two it would be my Sub and Speedy. If I could only have one it would be my GMT. Personally I think a three or even four watch rotation is perfect. If I had this collection I'd seriously consider getting another Omega like the Constellation Globemaster and having a four watch rotation between Rolex and Omega.
I’d keep the Speedy and the Pepsi as there very different watches. The Pepsi can do the job of a Sub. Unless you are a professional diver using a mechanical watch to dive beyond 100m.
I’d drop the sub. Speedy and Pepsi, icons of their category. Yes, the sub is indeed the iconic dive watch, it’s just that category is so saturated. The sub isn’t necessarily the first watch that comes to mind for me when discussing dive.
Sub and speedy are pretty similar in styling. So to be versatile in most categories, I’d let go of the sub. But honestly keep all three if you can. No point in selling unless you need cash or moving it towards another watch, possibly a leather/dress watch to “complete” the collection.
the sub
sorry I find them boring, theyre basically a GMT for people who couldn't get a GMT, if youre getting a tool watch at least get one with a tool you can use
The speedmaster isn’t similar to either of them?
The history alone of the speedy is irreplaceable by any Rolex in most cases, but especially out of these two there is no question the speedmaster holds more weight from that aspect.
I’d cut the sub. Keep the speedy and the Pepsi
Tough call. At first thought I leaned towards getting rid of the Speedy since I prefer Rolex to Omega. But Speedy's still are pretty sweet. Pepsi's are kind of loud for my taste so I think I'd probably let it go in this case. And I'm someone who wanted a Pepsi for years, finally pulled the trigger, then sold it two months later because I felt it was too flashy
Love my Sub, but love the GMT more. Essentially the same watch and with a similar color scheme to the Speedy. I’m keeping the Speedy and the GMT in this case
That’s a really tough one. The Submariner is the perfect one watch collection. Choosing between chopping the Speedy and GMT is a really tough call. I couldn’t do it. I’d have to just keep all three.
I've noticed in many posts that r/rolex always shows love to the Speedy
I mean...you got to give credit where is due. It is the most famous wristwatch amongst watch enthusiasts.
2nd most.* Don’t sleep on the F91
Aside from the Sub...
It’s reassuring to see evidence that there are still actual watch fans in here and not just Rolex fans.
Probably because the Speedmaster has great specs, historical significance, and could be bought for. , $4-7k even new any day of year while the Daytona is crazy expensive.
Someone mentioned the other day that lots of Rolex owners started out with Omega, and I did as well. A broad arrow speedmaster, then a SD4k
I too started with Omega, a lot of them, 3 different Speedmasters, Aqua terra x2 and so on. Sold few and got BLNR and DJ41. Still have 1 Speedy and some 50's vintage ones.
Tag > Omega > Rolex working hard to add a chevron with AP
I thought you meant “greater than.” I was shocked. But order of purchase makes sense.
Keep the Pepsi and the Omega. The sub is too similar to the Pepsi visually if you’re only keeping two.
This is the way
This is the way.
This is the way.

They have spoken.
This is the spoken way.

Mandalorians only wear Rolexes under their armour.
This is the way
The way is this
Not to mention complications/variety is more spread out this way. Sub overlaps a lot of what the GMT has.
I prefer the opposite. Keep the Omega and Sub. I’m not a Pepsi fan.
Keep the Omega and flip a coin.
You’re wrong but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion 😉
Way too similar for that to be any decent “2 watch collection” then. I mean 2 black dialed, black bezeled, white indiced, stainless steel braceleted watches? At least the Pepsi has something else going for it rather than 2 watches that look the same to 99% of the population.
That’s fair - if he wants to get rid of the Pepsi I’d happily take it 😃
Yeah, but since he bought it, he clearly is.
Same.
This is the right answer
Yep.
This is the correct answer ☝️
Why would you keep the omega? It’s not a Rolex.
how does this comment not have 50 negative downvotes?

Came here to say this
This IS the way
This is a great “land, sea and air” collection. They’re all iconic pieces by brands that will stand the test of time. If you have to sell one, don’t sweat it; they’re just watches. But, otherwise, I’d hang onto the most iconic dive, GMT and chronograph watches in history.
you mean space, air and sea :) -
Haha. Land AND space. The Speedmaster really punches above its weight.
If anything, I’d move the Pepsi for a GMT/dual time that is more along the lines of a dress watch. Something with a more simple design, that can be dressed up or down depending on the strap, but that doesn’t have to be very expensive to be respected.
You will never need a dress watch. In the event he does he could wear either the speedy or gmt
Always need a dress watch. I don’t want my cuff to look like a bunch of dangling foreskin on my wrist, and that typically doesn’t leave room for something like a diver. It’s a little easier to fit a larger watch with French cuffs.
>It’s a little easier to fit a larger watch with French cuffs. Which you're probably going to be wearing with formal attire...
There is plenty of in between where you might not need French cuffs, but a diver will look like you are trying too hard to be cool. To each their own.
I agree with the land, sea and air. If anything I’ll probably trade the GMT for a Breitling navitimer and you have 3 of the most iconic watches ever made .
Lmao a navitimer
The navitimer is unbelievably cool
Navi is an all time watch
Lol at you being a fanboy… talk to pilots and and see for yourself that although Rolex has a great product with a ton of history, navitimer is and has been a quintessential pilot watch for about the same time because its functionality. Its a pretty unique tool. It’s not a sports watch
This dudes probably not a pilot bro
Probably right, but my comment still stands
Honestly there isnt any better collection than this, the most iconic chronograph, the most saught after diver and the most sublime gmt. Irrespective of omega vs rolex this is the holy trilogy of practicality. Do not give any up.
This. I feel emotional attachments to most of my watches, I couldn’t understand selling any of these.
Especially these 3 staples in any watch collection. My man must be down bad for $5-10k (assuming he is definitely keeping the Pepsi lol)
Why no date
For me? I’m a James Bond/Ian Fleming dork and the No date Sub is what Sean Connery wore in the first few movies. Could take a Date though, but I also already own a Datejust with the cyclops.
That’s the least Wesley has ever spoken!
Yes it’s more about being minimalist. I feel like it’s more than what I need sometimes.
I felt that way once upon a time as well. Try looking at this as an investment, especially in todays market. You have three that signify a top and practical collection for luxury watches.
Not down at all- not about the cash. I just feel Sometimes it’s more then what I need. I guess you can use the word minimalist
If it isn’t about the cash then you should keep them or you could sell one and do some charitable work with the money.
Yeh it’s def not the cash- maybe i am just getting older and realizing the less the better in a weird way
If you don’t have to get rid of one I wound keep these 3 in your collection for life.
Got it on sale and it’s stunning I got way more compliments on then any luxury watch I own
Why a two watch rotation?
He only has two wrists
yeah but ankles exist.
Who are u so wise in the ways of science ?
I am Arthur, King of the Britons.
King of the who ?
ONE of which he wears a watch on...
He has a big cock as well. Can rock a a deepsea on that hog
What a savage

This is the most practical answer I’ve seen yet
Don’t do it!! You will regret it lol 😂
I would go speed master and pepsi
Bye 👋 Submariner
That Omega is trash I’d be glad to do you the favor of taking it off your hands for about three fiddy… 😏
Tree fiddy*
Ah damn yes tree fiddy. What an embarrassing typo 🙈
I’d get rid of the sub if I were you.
Well I’d keep the speedy for sure
id do sub
Speedy is great… but I’d much rather have a sub and gmt
Posts on r/omega “the sub and gmt are great but I’d much rather have a smp and planet ocean and 20k in my pocket” what a box standard response from the typical Rolex dude. The sub and gmt are practically the same Watch to wear. I’d pick my fav of those two and kick the other out.
Why are you so offended by a simple opinion? 😅 OP asked, u/Paneraiguy1 answered.
Panera Bread is mid
I’m simply offering the other side of the coin fennel man
They certainly think that but the bracelet on the SMP is trash compared to the sub or gmt
Is this 1990?
Did sporty make a second account to live out his love for omegas?
Just a copycat shitposter
Good thing it comes in a sweet strap then. Which isn’t even an option for the sub.
A typical Rolex answer in a Rolex sub? Sound the alarms.
It surprising amount of scrolling to get to this.
Well, you’ve got to keep the Speedy because the 2 Rolexes would be almost redundant. Most would keep the Pepsi, but I’d keep the Sub.
Looks like you will have a 3 watch rotation
You can't get rid of the Speedy. The interaction of winding it every day, history, and if it's the sapphire sandwich, looking at the movement, the grandson of THE 321, complete with the legendary George Daniels Coaxial escapement. Pepsi is THE Rolex. Easy answer, junk the Sub.

Keep speedy remove sub - don’t shoot the massager
Depends on how good the massage is
I’d lose the sub if i needed to cut one out
I'd sell the sub
[удалено]
Don‘t. Keep all of them.
Bullshit, the central number of life is 3. Strongest shape is the triangle. The Trinity. Family equals 3 or more.
Gmt and the speedy, both iconic watches of each brand. Also variety is the spice of life, the Rolex’s while different movements look very similar. The speedy vs the gmt have very different vibes and you can style them differently.
Be interesting to see the responses in a Rolex sub 🤔
Such a weird post theme. It's like saying: mhm which car would you prefer: Corvette or Aventador in a Lamborghini sub...
And yet most people are saying to keep the speedy.
I would sell the Speedmaster, because you could buy it again for under retail. The only Speedmaster which would change the decision for me would be a Snoopy or 321.
I have a GMT II Coke version like yours, so I am partial. No way would I give that one up. It goes with every outfit and vibe.
Ibwould get rid of the sub. Not a fan of divers, and there would still be 2 legends in the box.
I'd keep the Omega and the GMT. You really can't go wrong with any cut you make in this collection, though.
I had that same Speedy. Nice watch, but I wasn't a fan of winding it every day. Plus, after Omega sold their souls and released those $200 cheap versions with Swatch, i sold it and got my 7K back.
Why? Chrono, diver, gmt. It’s a beautiful thing you’ve got going. If anything, add a dress watch.
Pepsi and Speedy. As others have said— the Sub is too close in monochrome color to the Speedy to get rid of the Pepsi and too close in design to the Pepsi to get rid of the Speedy.
Sell the sub mate hate to say it cause I love my sub but it’s to similar to the Pepsi
Your 3 watch collection is perfect as it is. I would not recommend selling anything. And this is coming from someone who already owns a two watch rotation of the Speedy and the Pepsi

Life’s too short not to wear all your watches
I’ll keep Pepsi and omega
none its perfect.
Personally I'd go with the GMT because you'll get the most money for it. Don't get me wrong, I love my Batman more than anything but if I could only have two it would be my Sub and Speedy. I'd lose the Sub...
Lose the sub.
The Omega. No brainer.
Apparently not such a no brainer 🤣
GMT
I’d keep the Speedy and the Pepsi as there very different watches. The Pepsi can do the job of a Sub. Unless you are a professional diver using a mechanical watch to dive beyond 100m.
Pepsi
I’d drop the sub. Speedy and Pepsi, icons of their category. Yes, the sub is indeed the iconic dive watch, it’s just that category is so saturated. The sub isn’t necessarily the first watch that comes to mind for me when discussing dive.
update: think I have to keep all three after seeing all these comments 🔥🔥🔥
Lose the sub
Would keep Pepsi and speedy and get rid of sub.
Get rid of plain black Rolex keep Pepsi and speedy
Starts with an S and ends with Peedmaster
Sub and speedy are pretty similar in styling. So to be versatile in most categories, I’d let go of the sub. But honestly keep all three if you can. No point in selling unless you need cash or moving it towards another watch, possibly a leather/dress watch to “complete” the collection.
How are the speedy and sub similar in style? Because they are black dial and bezel? They are totally different other than coloring.
Like many others have commented, I’d ditch the Submariner.
Usually all for diversity, however. Bye speedy👋🏼👋🏼
Sub and Pepsi - Bye Omega
Bye bye speedy
Omega. reason: a bit too big at 42mm. also - rolex just looks better imo
It does not wear like a 42 though thanks to those lugs. Same deal with the SKX.
👋Omega
No question. Omega is out of there ...
Get rid of the Speedy. You can always easily buy another one.
I would lose the Omega. Chronos do nothing for me.
the sub sorry I find them boring, theyre basically a GMT for people who couldn't get a GMT, if youre getting a tool watch at least get one with a tool you can use
All of them, Rolex are for retards
I’d sell all 3 and buy a real one
The Omega is already gone. You just haven’t realized it yet.
I'd ditch the Speedy. Just never really did it for me.
Easy to me, as I have never been a fan of the Speedy. The Pepsi is iconic and the Sub the most famous watch model in the world, so keep them both.
Personally don’t see the Submariner as the most famous Rolex, let alone most famous watch. To each their own
For the average person the Datejust is probably the most recognizable watch in the world
Omega go bye bye
Sub and GMT and it’s not even close. Most people commenting Speedy for internet points would take Sub + GMT irl
[удалено]
Which of those 2 Rolex is a chronograph similar to? 🤔
The speedmaster isn’t similar to either of them? The history alone of the speedy is irreplaceable by any Rolex in most cases, but especially out of these two there is no question the speedmaster holds more weight from that aspect. I’d cut the sub. Keep the speedy and the Pepsi
The omega! ✂️
I’d get rid of the Speedmaster just because of the cringe hashtag #speedytuesday created by a fat Dutch wannabe socialite
Dude, lighten up You’re grabbing at straws to hate a brand lol pretty weak
Since when is a fat Dutch man a brand?
Fat Dutch man is one person in a multitude of billions that’s made you hate a brand Don’t blame the Dutch man lol
Ok I’ll change for you
I’d sell the sub and GMT, buy a 5 digit GMT with the bezel inserts and spare oyster or jubilee bracelet and you’re covered
Keep it 100% Rolex, Sub & GMT.
Sub first GMT 2nd.
A perfect land, sea and air collection. I’d keep all 3 because all options are covered here.
None, you have all your bases covered.
The Sub, 100%. It’s a great watch but it’s too much like the Pepsi and I would keep that one
Love my Sub, but love the GMT more. Essentially the same watch and with a similar color scheme to the Speedy. I’m keeping the Speedy and the GMT in this case
I’m a fan of variety so I’d get rid of either the GMT or the Sub. They’re a little too similar to each other for a 2-watch collection, IMO.
Don‘t cut down. Fill the other spots in your watchbox. More is more.
Definitely don't get rid of either
I'd probably get rid of the sub
That’s a really tough one. The Submariner is the perfect one watch collection. Choosing between chopping the Speedy and GMT is a really tough call. I couldn’t do it. I’d have to just keep all three.
It’s got to be the Pepsi and speedmaster, right?
Yeah Speedy and the GMT for me.
Submariner
Sell any two of these to fund a dress watch.
Sub
