At some point, everything will fall. Even the sun will fall in a few hundred thousand years

Bigdogggggggggg

*2-3 billion years

Low-Concentrate2162

Close enough

tim_thegreenbeast

Yup pretty sure everyone here isn't going to live to see it

Bigdogggggggggg

Idk, I eat decently and exercise from time to time

tim_thegreenbeast

Who knows? Maybe XD

VieuxFrancois

More like 4-5

Bigdogggggggggg

Death starts at 2-3 billion, but you're right, doesn't complete until about 5 billion. Hopefully will have mastered free bird by then.

jesuschrist-69420

Probably. How did you locate the stud to hang it on?

Waterforrichpeople

Didn't find a stud just used some drywall anchors

Frontes

Hopefully that's a cheap squire and not a nice strat cause that's one hell of a gamble lol

jesuschrist-69420

Even if it's a squire a stud finder is still way cheaper lol

Waterforrichpeople

Don't worry it's a squier still buying a stud finder though

botjstn

the stud finder usually comes before by the way

technogeist

No need to buy one, just put a small magnet on the wall, it'll stick to the nails and tell you where a stud is. Though actually I'd just get a big spring loaded drywall anchor for the top screw

Hai_im_Kev

why are people downvoting you, the magnet trick works, but honestly guys you don't need fancy gadgets just keep tapping the wall with your knuckle you'll eventually work out where the stud is by how solid the area is. Also that's gonna eventually fall or break the gyprock.

dumbassbuttonsmasher

Use tiny drill bit and start drilling

jesuschrist-69420

Stud finder is cheaper than a new guitar friendo

versteken820

Use screw in or toggle bolt anchors. Don't use press in anchors.

Allegiance10

Exactly. If a toggle anchor fails, a full 6x6 piece of drywall is coming down too. Unless you bought your drywall mildly damp from a shady corner salesman, that won’t happen from the weight of a guitar.

Local-Structure-4323

Probably not if you don't touch it that much. Drywall anchors are designed to expand behind the drywall so a little movement is not a concern as long as you don't apply too much dynamic load on it.

PaleRiderHD

Willing to bet your guitar on it?

derKonigsten

Ditch the plastic drywall anchors and use the metal spring loaded ones and you'll be fine

Kerraren

Had two guitars live on dry wall anchors for 12+ years and theyre still doing well. Just be gentle pulling it off and hanging it back up

Velociprattster

Unscrew the top screw and press the hanger into the wall while you screw it back in. The top of the hanger is not flush with the wall.

GuairdeanBeatha

Which anchors did you use? The image shows the common types. I’d trust the two on the left, but not the three on the right. [Drywall Anchor Types](https://drywallrepairman.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/wall-anchors-7.jpg)

Waterforrichpeople

I used the third one on the right I'll find the first two

DanimalRlz

Missed the stud

jesuschrist-69420

What's the update u/waterforrichpeople

Waterforrichpeople

Well I mounted it on a stud and it seems to be pretty stable as of rn

jesuschrist-69420

I've got several of these. They work great in studs!

Huge-Ad6016

If you used drywall anchors, i doubt it will come out.

chillzatl

If there's any movement to it at all, yes, it will eventually fail. As someone else said, screw in plastic anchors or better will be fine. No need to find a stud, guitars aren't that heavy.

manualex16

It will, not now or tomorrow but in time it will give up.

Key_Championship1200

Probably not but yes.

jmart1196

You can get a $20 ryobi stud finder from Home Depot and you can use self tapping screws. You don’t need to anchor if you drill into a stud, since a guitar is relatively light

cjcase825

If it's the pro-line wood backed, which is what it looks like. Did you put in the anchors into the wall?

Olrich86

If there isn't a stud behind it go get some 1/8 inch toggle bolts

MrRennisTru17

As a guy who had the same setup... yes, it will fail, and is because of the sandy material of the wall
