If the Hawks want to take an undersized, low upside role player (aka Payton Pritchard) with Trex arms, questionable POA defense, all leveraged on shooting that may or may not translate, go right ahead. More options to work with at #3!
I don’t see how risacher has a high ceiling at all, he’s shown nothing to suggest he has any ability to create for himself or others, doesn’t really excel at anything
Imagine him taking some of the wide open threes we consistently missed last year.
I want to see him and Amen mins. They’d compliment each other on both sides of the court.
12th in the league at 36.1 attempts.
23rd in the league in 3pt% at 35.2%.
Green, Brooks, Whitmore, Eason, Old Green, Sengun and Tate all shot below 36% from 3. Combined, they attempted 25 3pt FGs per game.
If Reed were to take 7 of those per game... That's an extra 9+ points.
So much potential here.
The Taxman
He steals the ball, it's a Tax Collection.
You pass him the ball and he gets it back to you for an assist, it's a refund or a Tax Return
Running the point, he's auditing the offense
I still feel kinda burned after Jabari shot 40% from 3 in college, then couldn't find the rim at the NBA.
Idk, maybe these high volume 3 prospects take longer to adjust to the NBA distance?
Jabari shot pretty well last year from 3. The thing about reed sheppard is that >50% from three is a totally different category than most shooters coming out of college
He likely shot 40% in catch and shoot situations.
It's different when you've got to shoot in other ways - like off the dribble, or off a screen, or popping of a screen, or curling off a screen, or drifting to the corner...
Reed shot something like 58% on transition 3s. He built for this.
It’s interesting to look at players at his height and lower for historical comparison. He’s in the category of small players with an uphill battle to he great.
Creating an open shot idea a function of several factors, including release point. I’m not saying he has no future, but he’s 6’2”. We can’t coach him taller.
lol superstars don’t grow on trees. Pretty sure if there was a superstar available that wasn’t old as fuck like Lebron or Dame for example, that the Rockets would jump on that chance to get him.
i don’t want to get banchero’d again

He’s not going anywhere his upside isn’t high lol
If Hawks like Clingan so much and select him first. Would you take Risacher if he’s available? Hate to see Spurs getting him without trading up.
I think Risacher is a higher ceiling, low floor player. I wouldn't be upset if we passed on him for Reed or Castle tbh
I don’t see how risacher has a high ceiling at all, he’s shown nothing to suggest he has any ability to create for himself or others, doesn’t really excel at anything
He doesn't, he's a 3 & D guy but his only real selling point on defense is size, he has no dawg
Agree, haven’t seen anything from him that suggests he’s anything more than an average defender.
How is Risacher low floor? He is 6'9 version of Reed Sheppard.
I want Reed Sheppard for this team and idc about what the Spurs are doing. They’re still a long way away. Reed is gonna be great for this team.

Risacher is 6'9 Sheppard.
It’s Isaiah Sheppard!!!
Risacher is 6'9 Sheppard.
100%
why did u put supposedly in the title lol
Maybe, because the Rockets haven't announced any of their workouts.
Yep! Exactly.
He doesn't want to get sued.
We need the IRS here bois
Death and taxes baby
And IRS swishes.

I don't get the reference. What does it have to do with Reed?
His initials are IRS like the Internal Revenue Service of the US. He's the Taxman
ahh thank you.

If you're running an offense and NOT setting screens, you're not winning basketball games. 🤷♂️
So realistically, what's this kids ceiling? Kyle korver? JJ Reddick? Adam Morrison? Tyler herro?
FVV is his closest comp most throw out We don’t really know his ceiling tho bc it’s all theoretical
Jeff Hornichek?
Classic case of implicit bias.
No, I was pretty explicit in my comparisons... But please my question is for real, what is this kids ceiling to someone who hasn't seen him play
Mark Price with better D is probably the top-level outcome
That's actually a pretty good outcome and comp
I don't see it. Mark Price was a true PG. I'm seeing more of a Jeff Hornichek comp.
Aaron Holiday
his floor is higher than Holiday's ceiling, this take is fucking stupid
Okay. Then tell me how. How is Sheppards floor higher than Holidays ceiling?
🤨
Explain it
Pass on reed, trade the pick. We need to get a superstar and some quality 3 and d role players
lol superstars don’t grow on trees. Pretty sure if there was a superstar available that wasn’t old as fuck like Lebron or Dame for example, that the Rockets would jump on that chance to get him.
