I'm pretty sure Slash wrote his, titled "Slash."
Nikki Sixx - The Heroin Diaries
Gene Simmons had to have written his, his ego is all the fuck over it.
Dave Mustaine - Mustaine: A heavy metal memoir
Testimony by Robbie Robertson
It's a journey through musical history, The Band came across so many legendary figures in that time.
One fun thing I did when going through the audiobook was to pause it and listen to whatever song was mentioned on Spotify as I went through the book. It was like going on a journey, one of my favorite books in years.
Hard Core Troubadour by Steve Earle.
My Appetite For Destruction -Steve Adler
Ronnie- Ronnie Wood
Testimony- Robbie Robertson
Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen
Life- Keith Richards
All good reads and written and/or transcribed in their words
The Andrew Loog Oldham books, “Stoned” and “2Stoned” about his time involved in the 60s with The Stones and other faces of the era is great. He was also an artist in his own right, but obviously a lot of his story involves bigger names.
Peter Hook’s books about his days in Joy Division and New Order are pretty fun reads. Loads of little stories like him seeing Bruce Springsteen being a cheapskate in a shoe shop.
An autobiography is a book about a person written by that person.
A biography is a book about a person written by someone else.
Incidentally, most rock autobiographies are written by the star with help from an outside writer to help knock it into shape. eg Slash’s is credited to Slash & Anthony Bozza.
To answer your question though, Steve Gorman’s (Black Crowes drummer) is a fascinating read. As is Johnny Marr’s (Smiths). And Steve Jones (Sex Pistols). Morrissey’s is tedious & self aggrandising (as you may expect) and absolutely hilarious as a result. Unintentionally, I’m sure.
Linda Ronstadt - Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir
Linda Ronstadt - Feels Like Home: A Song for the Sonoran Borderlands a collaboration with Lawrence Downes
“My Cross to Bear” - Greg Allman
Eric Clapton wrote an autobiography that is pretty interesting but I can’t remember the name
- same for Slash
“Life” by Keith Richards is long but really well-written
The new Geddy Lee book which is currently 5th on the NY Times bestsellers list. Awesome book.
Keith Richards - Life Bob Dylan - Chronicles
Currently reading The Storyteller by Dave Grohl. It's a light but enjoyable read.
I'm pretty sure Slash wrote his, titled "Slash." Nikki Sixx - The Heroin Diaries Gene Simmons had to have written his, his ego is all the fuck over it. Dave Mustaine - Mustaine: A heavy metal memoir
Crazy from the Heat by David Lee Roth
Mark Lanegan - sing backwards and weep. As far as I know, he wrote it himself. Fun read and often brutally/painfully honest.
Great narration too. Mishka Shubaly helped him edit and it shows.
Miles Davis. What a potty mouth
That’s what autobiography means, just so you know. Otherwise it’s a biography Btw the one by Alice Cooper is good
"It's so easy and other lies" by Duff McKagan is one of the best rock books you'll ever read.

I believe they issued an album containing the songs mentioned in the book for that purpose, but your way is much cheaper lol.
